Qubool Hai | Interview of
Nirmal Soni

NIrmal Soni is a person we met on the
set for the first time when he came for
his shoot. We were talking to Shehzaad
and during our conversation had
walked into his make -up and was
introduced to the new cast member,
Nirmal Soni. Had then enquired about
what character he played in the series
and was told by him Lateef.
A quiet man who also happens to be
from Gujarat and was playing a game
on his phone as Shehzad prattled on
with us.
Now, comes the clincher. A dress-man
came and left his "costume" in the
room while he had stepped out of the
room. We had then asked Shehzaad if
we were in the right room or was it
temporary. And then the penny
dropped. The costume was for Lateef.
The character was a drag-queen.
Amazing is what we felt and then we
saw him perform. He is terrific. We
spoke to him about his role and yes, it
is difficult to do such a role even if one
has had practice and for Nirmal this
was a first.

in the show, Qubool Hai.
It airs every Monday to Friday at
