Neelu Kohli wants to establish herself in Bollywood movies too!
TellyBuzz in talks with the ace actress Neelu Kohli who has done many television shows and movies. The recent movie flick that she has done is Gori Tere Pyaar Mein along with Kareena Kapoor and Imaran Khan.
Versatile actress Neelu Kohli who has been seen in various shows like Bhabhi, Piya Ka Ghar, Na Bole Na Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha has been gaining appreciation for her acting skills but now she is also being appreciated for her role in films too. The actress was recently seen in the film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein sharing screen space withKareena Kapoor and Imraan Khan.
She talks about being a part of the film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, on the shows she likes to watch on TV, difference between shooting for film and TV and much more... Well, it was really nice and I enjoyed shooting for each and everyday for the movie. Though I had a short role in the movie I really had fun shooting and jelling around with the other co-actors and the entire team.
Any challenges that you had to face playing Kareena's mother onscreen?
No, not at all. I am very much trained in playing the mother's role (laughs), like you all have seen me in the daily soaps. This was just like a cake walk for me. I played my real character in reel life. The only difference between real life in reel life was that in real life I don't force my daughter to get married soon. I am not that typical desperate mother who wants their daughter to get married as soon.
Kareena Kapoor is a doll, very adorable and very confident in whatever she does. She knows on which path to walk and which not and she is a very loving girl. Since I did not have many scenes in the movie I gradually worked with Kareena and Imran only and it was a fun time working with them. I have worked with Imran Khan earlier too in the movie Break Ke Baad and he is an extremely talented and smart guy. In fact the entire team was very much sorted and they knew what to do when. The entire shoot went very smoothly and was memorable for me too.
What is the one thing that you have learnt from this movie?
There was lots of respect given to each and every actor and team member working for the movie. So definitely what I have learnt or should I say I am going to take it for the rest of my life is - the respect that is to be given to each and every person in the making of a film or a show.
What is the difference that you find while shooting for a movie and shooting for a TV show?
In a television show we get to explore our acting talent through the shades of your character you are portraying but that is not the same in movies. In movies you are restricted to just one shade that you have to portray. But at the same time shooting for a movie is easier and it is not the same in the case of shooting for a television show. Both TV and Bollywood have their own pros and cons.
Apart from this movie, as we all know that you have done many television shows too. So out of the many television shows that you have done, which was the one show which was very challenging for you and the most memorable?
The show Sangam that I did was definitely very challenging for me as well as a memorable one. I played a totally negative character in it and I had to work really hard for that show. But as it is said that hard work always pays! I was very much appreciated for my role then.
Any of the ongoing show you like watching on television?
I am aware of what is going on in which show. But my favorites are Qubool Hai and the reality show Bigg Boss. I also like watching all the dance and singing based reality show too as well as talent based reality shows.
So who do you think has the chances to win Bigg Boss this year?
I find Kamya Punjabi very strong headed lady and she is playing very well too. AlsoArmaan Kohli is on the right track, just that he should reduce his anger a bit. I find him standing up for the right cause always which is a very good quality in him. And if we go as per the previous season winners, who have been telly actresses this time it can beKamya Punjabi.
When do we get to see you in a television show?
Well honestly, I have been working continuously from the past 5 years and this is a much needed break for me. But that doesn't mean that I won't come back... if I get an interesting and challenging role I will be back. Also I am all set to explore and get established in the Bollywood industry too so looking forward to do some roles there too.
We wish Neelu Kohli all the very best for her future endeavors!
