Pyar Ko Ho Jane Do - An extraordinary tale of Love, sacrifice, pain, deprivation, struggle, betrayal, deception and bliss. This serial dared to showcase the sensitivity enveloping the world today and showcased it with utmost beauty and respect.
This show did not have a typical cliched angry young man with a deprived childhood as the hero - instead it had a Muslim and Non - indian protagonist who grew up in a terror camp. It did not have a bubbly and chirpy herione serving as the complete opposite to the hero .. instead the protagonist is a girl who believed in moving on in life after she lost her family in a terror attack and was molested during that. This show did not have a rolling eyes vamp, instead it had the biggest threat we face today as its antagonist- terrorism.
This show did not have long lectures of how a family should be together, instead it emphasised that terrorism did not belong to religion, cast, creed or nationality. Terrorism belongs to terror. That is it.
This show did not have close ups of the heroine and the vamp standing in front of each other with banging musics, instead it presented psychological fights - it presented a human being's basic struggle against his conscious and unconscious mind. It presented a man's helplessness over his past and the fear of uncertainty over future. This show presented the dilemma of whether to listen to heart or mind. This show presented the storm which a man faces when he needs to choose whether to listen to heart or mind. This show presented the ultimate struggle of whether to give up or keep trying? This show presented the struggle when a man needs to choose between being loyal to his duty or loyal to his love. This showed the struggle of whether its necessary to be linked by blood or the connections of heart with people are enough?
This show redefined loyalty, patriotism and mutual respect. It blew away the facade of terrorism and made people stop .. stop and think .. MAYBE the accusations we keep throwing at each other for terrorism CAN be a conspiracy?
This show did not have a wicked psycho lover conspiring against her sautan .. it had the biggest destructive force of the world - terrorism - conspiring against world peace and harmony.
This show weaved one after another beautiful messages in a row to complete its essence - Pyar Ko Ho Jane Do - Let love happen. Let love happen despite of boundaries, let love happen despite of barriers, let love happen and dont let terror win. Let love happen and dont let financially hungry agencies to create misunderstandings between two countries. Let love happen despite mistakes. Forgive, trust and let love happen, kyun k ,, k Pyar ki bus ik waja hoti hai .. Pyar..
20th October 2015, I waited with baited breath for the show to start.. Mona was starring in it.. that was reason enough for me to watch the show.. little did i know the effect this show will have on me.. I have laughed, cried, got angry, got desperate, got hopeful with this show.. and not to forget this rocking forum.. i may have not interacted with many but today i feel i have an extended family here..it's going to be so difficult to get over this..
Mona i knew wouldn't disappoint with her acting.. and i also Knew Iqbal would be awesome.. but these two together.. they are more powerful than the sutli bombs that phodofied them at last π
Trust me. Not many actors make me gush so much and after PKHJD.. i am a fan of Iqbal for life..i love them.. i love them both..
Life after this.. waiting with baited breath for 9.30 to strike.. cursing sony every moment for ruining the show, gushing and guffawing over the dimensions and badmouthing shergil..won't be the same..
Peeyara (Naseem) stomping..
Ek minute,, ek minute.. yaar tum kitna senti patakti ho rupsi.. meri sehat ke liye itna emotional stuff thiik nahi..
Me : achhaa .. Naseem.. for you I will stop my emotional bahaav.. (Naseem likes this with 10 others π)
Putting forth some positive nuances they brought in the show...
First and foremost.. no kitchen politics ( thank heavens.. we all have had a high dose of it) there was no adding mirchi to the food.. no backstabbing nanad ..no bitching bhabhi..after all.. its all about loving your family right π
A daughter of the family is encouraged to take up the work of acting because she wants to and believes in.π
The mother in law talking freely if her son has any problem regarding not having kids with her daughter in law. Not always the woman is responsible for not conceiving. π
Ishaan, this destiny's not so favorite child.. a man who despite having a painful life always.. took care of a stranger's kid. And how well did he do that..the one who was ready to sacrifice his own life for saving the Hooda's and his Preet.π³
Preet, Rizwaan's patakha punjaaban. Here we had a female protagonist who was not afraid to talk about her feelings. Who kept on asking, demanding, fighting for what she thought she deserved.. π³
And above all.. apart from the gripping story ( yes a few loopholes too, but then who or what is perfect.. nahi?? )
It's the acting that was just freaking awesome.. Iqbal and Mona.. you guys have been a revelation.. i can still blush when Preet says ab darr nahi lagta ishaan, or her,, bakiyon ka pata nahi lekin mera chaand aa gaya,, and the spine chilling last night's.. hamara bachcha and her calling him Rizwaaan... with an extra emphasis on Rizwaaan..ufff ufff uffessttt..
thanks to the channel we were forced to not be able to see Preet's side of the story in detail. But whatever she got.. she outshone herself with every passing episode..
Iqbal Khan.. aapke kya kehne.. as SoHu will say.. aap toh dil, kidney, lever sab lo β€οΈ every small nuance you showed,, just makes me guffaw over it..cannot get over your mera bachcha?? And then, ammi ne diya tha and breaking down.. have cried n number of times when you cried, got emotional or just kept talking.. it's a revelation for us.. you have grown as an actor so much..
No wonder you two got the critics awards for this.. you deserve it totally..π
Best part of the Pyar ko ho jane do?.. the mindboggling discussions we have had here at I-F.. i was fortunate enough to be a tiny part of it.. but our diggaj members.. aditya_anjaana(Rifah), SoHu(Sohini), Loveforlife(Raveena), pinkeye(Payal), itsoksammy(Akki), Steph, Fanatasia(Kinza), Peeyara(Naseem), Rollingstones(Asmita), llQueenMinionll(Ishaa)...
(psst.. sorry if i missed any names) they put four moons on this forum.. matlab ke char chand laga diye bhai π
Jaate jaate..A few expressions..
When Shergil had a scene, and he would make an entry, we all were like..
When Rizwaan and Shergil came in one frame on screen...
When Riz Preet hugged we had talked about the dimensions..it was magic..
When it was Shergil's popat.. we all went..
When Shergil made W*F statements..
When there was an unexpected twist in the story
And last but not the least..
when we protested for the show.. sony tv was like
All this has been so memorable that for me..
Anyways
For this aaahmaaazing journey and for you all i will say.. Pyar ko ho Jane do until we meet in the next post π
