How did you enter the television world?
While I was in college, someone from the television industry approached me. It was then that I made my portfolio and thus began my career with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus.
What are your current projects?
I am currently working for Viraasat on Star Plus. I am also doing an English play called The Perfect Wedding on stage.
How do you relate to your character in Viraasat?
The similarities between me and the character 'Natasha' are that the character is very bold, self-confident and have a very good personality. I can't think of many similarities, as Natasha is a grey character. I liked the character as it is quite different from the characters that I have been playing since four years on television. I hope viewers like the character too.
Did you always think of becoming an actress?
It was in my mind since childhood. But somehow, I always felt that it would remain an unfulfilled dream. I hail from such a Gujarati family where it wasn't easy to convince my parents to let me go ahead with my dreams. But when I received a call from Balaji Telefilms, I wanted to some how go ahead with it and my mother was also convinced because it is a clean production house. My father was still not convinced but now he is quiet satisfied with my work and proud of me.
Your happiest moment?
My happiest moment was when I handed over my first pay cheque to my mother.
Future plans?
I haven't planned for anything. But I'm hoping for the best. I'm not very fluent with Gujarati and so I would take up good opportunities from the Hindi film industry and ad films also.
