Surbhi Tiwari plays Madhavi Rana in the Rajshri daily Pyaar Ke Do Naam – Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam on Star Plus. Tiwari also features in Sanyasi and Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula (both on DD). Here she reveals details about her character Madhavi in Pyaar Ke Do Naam, a saga which takes on love and reincarnation
In the present scenario Madhavi is forced to be a 'widow'?
Madhavi's husband, Yashraj Rana (Jiten Lalwani) is alive but due to circumstances, she is forced to be a widow. She is caught between the feud of the two protagonists families — the Ranas and the Rathores; so she has to sacrifice her husband for the sake of her parents.
You have to sacrifice your husband?
My marriage with Yashraj was a special bond. Both our fathers were the thick of friends who wanted to seal their friendship by becoming relatives. But later things soured and my brother was killed by them as a result I go back to my parental home. They feel they have lost their son to them, so why keep their daughter in the house of the murderers.
There is the white sari look for effect?
As the character is that of a widow, she adopts the white sari but she wears her mangalsutra around her arm.
Doesn't anyone notice it?
Not yet that will be a twist to the story later
So where is your husband?
He is with his parents. But Madhavi can't forget him — she visits a garden to take darshan of Yashraj as he frequents the place.
So you meet chori-chori
No, not at all. It's a door-darshan of Yashraj for Madhavi.
Can such a situation exist in real life?
Yes, it can. People can do anything for love; even pretend to be a widow.
