Indraneil and Barkha Bisht |
Nakhrewaali!
Barkha Bisht couldn't navigate waterlogged roads on foot. So, unit hands had to carry her on a chair

Barkha Bisht and Indraneil are the latest on-screen couple. The lead pair of Pyar Ke Do Naam Ek Radha Ek Shyaam was in the news at first for their animosity and then for their alleged link-up. This time the two have been up to something different altogether.
Recently, the entire unit of the show was shooting at Wai as they needed scenes with a rural backdrop. It was here that they found themselves in a bit of a spot. "The weather was bad as it was raining very heavily in Wai. The whole unit had to walk to the hills where we were supposed to shoot. The water was knee-deep here. It was difficult to walk and protect the equipment from getting wet at the same time," says a unit member.
Apparently, Barkha and Indraneil gave up after walking after a few minutes. Barkha was the first one to refuse to plod through the muddy trail. "With my ghagra and heavy jewellery, it was just impossible to walk," says Barkha.
The assistant directors were asked to organise a chair to carry Barkha. "It's not as if I demanded it," she says. "I sat in the chair which the unit members lifted and that's how they helped me cross that rough path. I felt bad because I sat on the chair like a queen while the others had to slog. But I was helpless. I had a bruise on my ankle and I couldn't walk for long."
Well, Barkha may have had her reasons. But what can possibly explain Indraneil being ferried across in the same manner? "We couldn't afford to ruin our clothes," says Barkha, as she defends her co-star. Undoubtedly, it was quite an uphill task (pun intended) for the unit members to carry both actors up the hill. "We tried to walk as much as we could. But had our clothes and accessories been soiled, it would have affected the continuity of scene which we were shooting. It was to protect ourselves that we had to ask the unit guys to carry us through the waterlogged roads," says Barkha.
The actress found the unit members very co-operative. Just a passing thought — was it fair on the part of the actors to subject their colleagues to rough it out while they travelled in comfort?
