“Life Ne Full Time Mujhse Fielding Hi Karaayi Hai, Isliye Ab Main Sirf Batting Karti Hoon”
Much like her one-liners, Pushpa is known for her courage and perseverance, who doesn’t like to give up on things easily. Pushpa is very much like her name, spreading love and freshness wherever she goes. Her determination keeps her going.
Pushpa is famous for her culinary skills and never fails to fill the empty stomachs of her clients. She lives by the philosophy that 'life will throw many problems at you, how you deal with them will determine your chances of success'.
She is the perfect combo of tenderness and strictness as a mother. Self-respect is the most treasured jewel of her and she doesn't let anyone trample over her self-respect.
Beyond her lively, simple and hardworking exterior, lies a woman inside her whose happiness lies in the little things of life; listening to classic Hindi songs of Kishore Kumar, having Gajra of her favourite flowers and the love for playing cricket.
Her determination to study and the hard work she put in for it, going against her own children shows her perseverance and strength. She is not the typical woman who only wants her kids to take up conventional jobs, she encouraged Chirag to use his sketching skills to make a living.

Ashwin is the eldest son of Pushpa who has seen his mother's struggle right from childhood which has made him mature and a responsible son. He is just not an elder brother to his siblings but a father figure too, especially to Rashi. Ashwin knows and understands that taking care of his brother and sister's academics is just not their mother's responsibility but his too, in the absence of their father in their lives.
He is no different than a responsible and sensible son of a middle-class family who contributes to the family by his earnings, thinking about family's needs first and keeping it above his own needs, and sometimes needs to create an extra source of income to fullfill his and family's needs. Despite being in a chawl environment, he is still very sophisticated and responds to someone in the same sophisticated manner if they taunt his family.
Ashwin not only left Deepti's parents impressed but won most of the audience's hearts too when he stated very clearly that his mother, brother and sister are his responsibility and he won't leave them for Deepti. When Pushpa decided to continue her study, he's the one who acted maturely, understanding both Rashi and his mother's POV and tried his best to make Rashi understand their mother's point of view. Not having a father's love and care might upset Chirag and Rashi sometimes but they're lucky to have a supportive, loving elder brother like Ashwin who guides them, appreciates them on their achievements and scolds them for their wrongs just like a father. Though Pushpa lost her parents at a young age, but sometimes Ashwin makes her feel like she also has a mother, by doing and saying exactly the same things which she used to say to him when he was child.
Ashwin as a partner, is both loving and supportive. Both Deepti and Ashwin have a great understanding between them. Though he works under Deepti but never feels embarrassed to work under her or is jealous of her growth; infact he was equally happy with Deepti's promotion just like her parents.
Ashwin's best friend, Bhaskar suggested taking up a job in the Gulf countries, like he has, so that he could get better off financially in less time and Ashwin considered it. After a lot of thought, he realised that he could not stay away from his family, even if it was for their betterment. He declined the job and continued his current one. Pushpa welcomed his decision happily, and so did Deepti and her parents.
Ashwin is played wonderfully by Naveen Pandita, bringing the shades of a doting son, a sweet lover and the responsible eldest sibling out in perfection.

'Dil accha hai lekin tareeka kaccha hai' perfectly fits Chirag, the second child of Pushpa, her youngest son who is more attuned to Pushpa's feelings as compared to his two siblings.
Seeing her mother's struggling life he got involved in gambling, trying to make quick money in order to contribute his share of money in running the house, without knowing the reality of its bad effects. His intentions weren't wrong but the path was; but luckily, his mother got to know about it at the right time. The way Pushpa brought him back to track by chasing him with a bat, might have taken 90's born children back to their childhood when mothers certainly followed kids with belan when they did some mischiefs, but a very rare sight to watch nowadays in any family especially with today's kids, who immediately threatens to call the police for child abuse anytime even when parents scold them rightfully.
Chirag is more like Pushpa in every way whether it's about the hidden artist in him, or their indirect way of speaking things, or playing cricket or doing some jugaad to get the work done when the work seems difficult.
With Saraswati Maa's blessings he is gifted in the art of sketching which landed him with a job at the police station as a sketch artist, but either he wasn't grown up or intelligent enough to realise that his art can be transformed to a career leading him to path of success, which will get him accolades and money. Thanks to Prathana, his college-mate and neighborhood friend who gave him this idea and encouraged him and finally, with Prathana's partnership and seed capital given by her, Chirag managed to open his business PC Creations - a studio.
He might not be a responsible and mature son like his elder brother but he is a loving son who cares about his mother's feelings. When Pushpa decided to quit her study again for Rashi's ego it was him who saw more that what it seemed to be and took charge to make his mother change the decision. Sometimes he also tries to do little things for her which makes her smile whether it is bringing Gajra of her favourite flowers or sending her school after feeding dahi-cheeni or appreciating her efforts in study like when she wrote 'Mathematics' on the cover of her textbook.
He is protective, caring towards his family who can't tolerate wrong words against his mother and if someone does that he makes them pay back for it. Sometimes he behaves sensibly while rest of the time indulges in masti with his family or neighbours, making others laugh.
His teasing, sharing problems and little flirtation with Prarthana is cute, unaware of her true feelings for himself, though it seemed like his elder brother has sensed something. It will be interesting to watch whether Chirag will get to know about Prarthana's feelings on his own or his elder brother will give some hint to him and what will happen to Bapodra-Chirag angle if this love-story ever takes off.
The character is played brilliantly by Darshan Gurjar, bringing all nuances of the character well on the screen, who got this role after his fantastic performance as cameo in another show of the same channel.

Rashi is a tenth grade student, a typical teenager we see all around us. She is the youngest but not spoilt per say by her mother or brothers. She loves her family, can see the limitations, but she wants her own sky too.
Her frustration about her mother being less educated, or the undertones of bullying she has to suffer because she is not naturally gifted in academics or she creating obstructions in the path of her own mother's dreams for her ego seemed relatable to some extent. But, now she has come so far that she is missing her mother's presence in the school and remembering every moment she spent with her in the school, when her mother wasn't there as a student. She genuinely wants her mother to come back as a student and continue her study.
She truly proved before the world that she is her mother's daughter when she stood up to the bully Aryan and told everything to the Principal without shying away from accepting her mistake.
Deshna Dugad, a talented actor who has appeared in several TV shows like 'Mariam Khan-Reporting Live', 'Bal Krishna' is portraying the role of Rashi Patel.
