Law against Domestic Abuse : Tearing the fabric of society?

Ahilya, along with Tukoji finally drafts a law against Domestic Abuse. Khanderao, Gangoba and Gunoji try to explain this will be not accepted by the society, it will disrupt the fabric of marriage. Husbands have rights and it's a household thing.

Ahilya tries to explain. Tukoji says we should discuss this in detail in durbar.

When Tukoji, Khanderao and Gunoji are alone, Tukoji asks Khanderao to give it a thought, Gunoji berates him. Khanderao (finally!!) speaks up in favour of Tukoji, while he says I care about Khanderao and my ideas, opinions are just as important and walks out.

Ahilya goes to conduct vat-savitri puja, Krishna falls unconscious. Ahilya asks her to drink water, all other women start saying she can't break her fast and so on. Ahilya says she's unwell, drink water for your daughter, Gomti also says it.

Shantaram (Krishna's good for nothing husband) hears about her breaking fast and tries to hurt her and Gomti. Ahilya comes there with soldiers and catches him red-handed.

P.s. TRP is 0.5 : Whaaat??? Domestic abuse wale track mein kam TRP? What is with people? smiley44 legit the most important tracks so far!!! And the execution has been good, not the usual stretchy kind.

Thanks for the update. The track looks interesting. Makes me wonder for all the things we've had it easy in our lifetime, how much more effort and hardwork it might have taken for the people in the past to get us here.

On the low TRPs, well, indian TV audience sticks to the garbage such as moronic EMAs, forced love triangles, mindless rona-dhona. I'm not really surprised.

Indeed. To have all the means to bring a change in society is one thing and to actually make efforts to bring a change is other. Ahilyabai has indeed brought a lot of reforms. Sad that people only remember her for the building of temples, ghats, etc. Her Socio-economic policies made the lives of common people so much better, raised their standard of living.

I was checking the YT comment section for yesterday's episode, someone called show's Ahilya a neo-liberal feminist as opposed to the queen who upheld Sanatan Dharma. as if everything she did for the widows and women was against Sanatan Dharma.

I was surprised at the dip cuz it was stable for over 3 months.

I think her contribution in building temples is prioritized over her other achievements is because it wasn't feasible to do this with so much ease. Furthermore, it also helped in preserving Hindu culture, something that Islamic rulers were hell-bent on destroying.

LMFAO, some clowns on the internet thinking talking about upliftment of women is something no one should ever do. Funny, the people who think like this believe they're better than the she/her//he/him folks.

The audience of the Indian TV is a massive disappointment. The less said about them the better.

Aaj ka episode bhi kaafi accha tha. The way Ahilya puts her point about good husband vs. bad ones. She has her way of making people understand her point, direct example. 👍🏼

Krishna finally spoke up, her fear and the threats of her husband put forth to the durbaar. One assurance of safety, she was able to speak. Sad that even today, women find it difficult to speak against domestic abuse. Something Ahilyabai talked 300 years ago. Our society is never gonna learn.

Thanks for the lovely update, Neha.

This domestic violence track is so well executed, tbh. I loved the way Ahilya slapped Shantaram while arresting him. She caught him red-handed. But what about Shantaram? What was he doing in the precap? He has totally lost his mind that he's doing all these things in the Darbar. But he is making it easy for AB to prove him guilty.
