Harkubai talks to Ahilya, asks her what's wrong. Ahilya manages to escape her questions. Ahilya decides to do something about Khanderao's drinking habit.
Dwarkabai talks to Malharrao, praising Parikshit and tells he's preparing under Gunoji. Gunoji wants to help the two mend their relationship. Dwarkabai praises him about silently working for the family and Malwa.
Tukoji comes to remind Malharrao about Parikshit's test. Malharrao says make sure Khanderao is present to witness whatever the result is or he will blame him for being unfair.
Gangoba comes with latter from Nanasaheb Peshwa which informs about death of soldiers in some area. Malharrao orders that in court they will be discussing about the issue.
Ahilya scolds Khanderao for drinking. He flirts with her but she ignores it. Ahilya asks him to quit drinking, he refuses to do so.
Tukoji comes to meet Khanderao.
In the kitchen everyone teases Ahilya, Dwarkabai comes and says roundabout things..
