Her father forced and threatened her to sell herself supported by her own mother. For them the comfort and luxury such a lifestyle would afford was more important than the unethical and sickening behaviour they were encouraging.

Still I would use a quote by my fav author here "it is not our abilities but choices that make us who we are" - J.K. Rowling. Nishi had a choice, she could have taken the hard choice and struggled on until she could reach her own success, but she took the easier choice, well I'm sure having relations with that monster was horrific but the immediate benefits outweigh that. Yet even then she could have chosen to use the opportunity of a good education to her advantage and studied hard but she did not. And now she is bitter as a result an innocent Aarti has to pay for having loving parents and for working hard to become someone in life. Her attitude is not fair but her soul has gotten so rotten because she lost herself while still so young. I'm at least glad she's protecting her sisters from being forced into the same life.

Hema is to be pitied. She's meek and weak and has no part in the upbringing of her sons. Urmila is so busy turning them into weapons for her vengeance that she does not heed the kind of humans they are turning into; absolutely rotten to the core. I'm sure Hema's words will haunt Urmila one day and she will be so sorry.

The level of hatred between the two families runs so deep that even SP who normally shuns confrontation was forced to speak up. But Sanjeev is such a hypocrite, criticising the Scindhia sons with the kind of sons he has...

That said, Prateek being Uday's weakness is what will bring this family trouble. Because he let Prateek get away with a lot, he allowed him to indulge. Sure he was not immoral in his conduct but he was a spoiled brat who always got what he wanted. And this attitude is what resulted in whatever happened in Ooty. The Mishras studied his behaviour and pounced! And as I said in the PM, he was forced to lie because of the promise he made to his Ma and Vidhi. It also led to Yash making such unpardonable errors. He is fiercely loyal and blindly overprotective of his loved ones; he does not even stop to think of their actions.

I can understand Vidhi's fear about bringing a daughter into the Scindhia family. Not only because she heard of the horrors and the hatred from the Mishras as a result, but because of how she is treated in that house when she's technically a daughter; she was never accepted because she was an orphan and a girl at that. But there is hope for this particular daughter as she will have so many guards against the tyrant she will have for a great grandfather.

Atul is between a rock and a hard place. Aarti's illness bought him a little time but he knows he's dealing with scoundrals without scruples and realizes that what he has learned places his family's life in danger. I strongly suspect that it was what led to their deaths.

So yes! It shows just how rotten to the core Sanjeev is! He not only lusts after young and innocent girls but he can easily wipe two people off the face of the earth like some insects. He is cold, calculating, and deliberate. Every step is thought out carefully and if there is a misstep it's rectified without time waste. He only has one goal, destroy the Scindhias! It's the mantra his mother has been chanting since he was a boy, now passed onto his sons. They would do anything, be as backhanded and low as they could to get it...

Why? Because a daughter was mistreated and cheated out of her due that she turned bitter and cheated in turn. Her heart became black and merciless! And the Scindhias keep doing the same thing to all their daughters. Gayatri saved Maya from such a fate or who knows what she could have become...

So yes the story is getting more and more complex and has me like this but I'm here for the ride! Eager for the next to finally learn what took place in Ooty, Alien ji 😛 waiting for your Alien brain to get to work!

Tess I so agree with the quote.

My initial plan was to show that Nishi made that decision on her own. But then I changed my decision. Yes she did had a choice but remember what her father said to her, he said that Sanjeev is rich and powerful and if he wants Nishi he will have her in any way possible. With a man like him, he could have her kidnaped and raped.

Here Nishi didn't want to be a prey to him, instead she decided to use him for her own reasons. Sad thing is she will end up paying for this in the end. I pity her cause she had a choice but had she chosen it, she still would have ended up being his prey.
Once again I agree that she could have still gone for her education but after losing her everything, her virtue, it was no longer important for her. Cause she was now getting what she might not have got with her education.

Women like Hema are left to remain a doormat and nothing but. They are not valued or respected by their own husband and kids.
Tess I can't reply on Prateek as there is so much more to reveal on his character. Same goes for Vidhi also. I wish I could say something but I can't.

Sanjeev is becoming vicious Day by day. But I agree with whatever you said about Sanjeev. He calculates and plans his every move and thus ruins his enemies. Uday may be a misogynist but he was not as ruthless and vindictive as the Mishra's.

Nishi is so disgusting! Sleeping with men as old as her father is sooo ewww! Choosing the easy, loose and dishonest lifestyle rather than working for it will only bring short-term gratifications. And Prateek is so blinded by his grandfather's pampering. Hats off to Gayatri! Can't wait to find out what will happen on the trip. Thanks for the PM.

This is my fiction, My imagination. So please don't copy it and post it somewhere else without My Permission.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Friends,,

I am back with another chapter of "Devil's Vengeance". I am late with the update because, once again, I had to think from all angels as I had to show four tracks running simultaneously. It was not easy to think and then to incorporate them but it was still fun to work on.

I'm finding this fiction as challenging as my fiction "Meant To Be". Or maybe more than MTB.
Once again I want to point it out that this is a Fiction and not something based on a Real Life story. Some things or many things will sound unrealistic. That is why I am requesting you to read it as an Fiction only. Though I'll try my best to keep it as Real as is possible for me.

I know this story has many characters that is why I have posted Characters Sketch in the Following Post. Do check it if you need any help with any characters relationships.

I know most of you didn't like the way Nishi sold herself by sleeping with Sanjeev, who was her fathers age, for money. But I want to say that her parents had pushed her for it. Her father had sort of threatened and warned her that is she doesn't agree then Sanjeev will find some other way to have her. Instead of falling prey to him, she had decided to use him for her own advantage.
She was barely Seventeen at that time and had no proper guidance and support. So I had a little soft corner for her.
But not anymore. From here on, I won't pity her or defend her as now she is old enough to know what is right and what is wrong. She still had a choice to change but she decided to stick with that life for her own benefits and greed. So yes from here on I won't sympathize her or defend her.

Once again I had to show juxtaposition of few events in the life of few main characters.
Here is the chapter. Hope you'll like it...

"Chapter. - 8"

Year 2006

Two Days Before The Workshop...

Next morning when her fever still didn't reduce, Atul and Aparna took Aarti to see a doctor. After few tests, Aarti was diagnosed with Typhoid and she was immediately hospitalized for it. She began throwing up. After few more tests they found out that she had some sort of stomach infection also. Doctor said that she needed to be hospitalized for few days till everything comes under control.

Aparna noticed how tensed Atul was. First his meeting with Sanjeev and now Aarti's illness. His daughters were his world. Even a slight cold or cough to either of them would send him spiraling out of control with fear and here Aarti was in the hospital. Aparna feared how would Atul react to it. To her surprise he was calm and composed. Or at least he was pretending to be so that she won't freak out.

Outside Aarti's room, Aparna saw Atul calling Sanjeev. "Sir! My daughter Aarti, has been hospitalized. I won't be able to come to office for the next few days". Sanjeev told him he understands and that he can take few days off but he was still waiting for his answer. Atul promised to give him an answer soon. He saw Aparna and said, "Aarti's illness has come as a disguise. It has given me time to think about what decision to take". They both knew that any decision that he takes would be life changing for all of them.

Arpita came running to them, "Mumma- Papa, come fast, Aaru is crying bitterly". She was panting and ran back inside the room, followed by her parents. They saw Aarti was wailing. The girl who was always calm and composed was crying like a small kid. Atul hugged her. "Aaru, it's just a slight fever. You won't be here alone. Your Mumma or I'll stay with you. I promise we won't leave you alone in here". Because of her sickness and being hospitalized, her emotions were running in all directions.

"Aaru, today I have to go to the market, I'll bring a small surprise for you". Arpita tried to cheer her up but she was in a foul mood.

"Let's call Prashant. He knows how to bring a smile on her face." Suggested Aparna. At which Arpita reminded them that Prashant had gone on a college trip of his own and won't reply calls as calls were not allowed unless it was an emergency. And Prashant was very particular about following rules. Arpita left for the market with Mansi when Aarti finally went to sleep. Their parents stayed by her bedside. As all other rooms were full, Aarti was admitted in a private room, which gave the family privacy and chance to be together and be with her.

***************************

At Sindhia Mansion...

The whole Mansion was lit with lights and balloons and all sorts of festoons. All sorts of flowers were used in every corner of the house as almost every rich and elite person from Pune and Mumbai had been invited for Vidhi's baby shower. For a change Uday himself had ordered Vidhi to rest and not come out of the room before the function as he wanted her to look rested and fresh in front of all guests. Someone or the other kept on checking on her thus she was not feeling alone and left out.

Maya stayed with her as she had a lot to catch up with her daughter. She noticed that Vidhi was lost in thought and wasn't paying attention to what she was saying. She asked what was the matter.

"Mumma I'm scared. I don't know why I'm getting this sinking feeling that something wrong or bad is going to happen. I...".

"Sweetheart nothing bad is going to happen. Ma has ordered those threads for you. They will keep you and the baby safe. I know it sounds superstitious but those threads are a mothers belief and blessings that nothing will happen to her children and they will be protected from all evil eyes". Maya assured her. "Besides you have got Pankaj with you who loves you so much. Yash and Aman and even Prateek adores you and loves you. They will be there to protect you and the baby. Now don't think too much and try to relax and enjoy the function in the evening".

Maya managed to make her take a nap but she herself was feeling apprehensive ever since Manav told them that he had sent an invitation card to Vidhi's Asha Maasi.

There Gayatri was frantically trying to look for something, when Prateek entered her room. She told him that she was looking for the wristlets made of black thread with golden beads in between. These threads were made by hand and given to pregnant women in their family. To maintain the prestige of the Sindhia family, they were made to wear similar wristlets made of gold with black beads in the middle. Gayatri had ordered the gold beads and had made the black thread wristlets at home. The gold ones had to be picked up from their family jewelers shop for which she was sending Prateek to the main market area where their jewelers shop was located.

"Mom the clasp of my locket keeps breaking. I need to give it to the jewelry to fix the clasp". Prateek told her.

"Prateek don't let BabuJi find out or all hell will break loose as he will term it as bad omen and what not. I don't want anyone or anything spoil the special day in my children's life. Go and quickly get it fixed and also bring those gold wristlets from the jeweler". She said and Prateek left.

******************

At The Market...

The whole market area was in the upscale neighborhood and was for the rich and affluent people. There were shops of best and most prestigious jewelers, salons of best beauticians, boutiques of top Designers. One such boutique was of Pankaj's. After all he was one of the top designers of the country. He had several boutiques throughout the country but his main was in Pune. Since the market was for the rich, no street vendors were allowed to put their stalls. No outside rickshaw or cabs were allowed. Only private cars and motorbikes were allowed.

Atul doted on his daughters and wanted to buy them the best of the things. He had therefore asked Aarti to buy a dress from PSC - Pankaj Sindhia Collections. Though Pankaj was a top designer, he carried dresses from all price range. He believed that success comes if masses from all classes could afford to buy and wear from his collection. He had two- three boutiques next to each other depending on the price range and varieties. He had strictly instructed his staff that all customers should be treated equally no matter from what background they came.

Aarti didn't want to spend too much on her evening gown so she had opted for the medium range. Since she was in the hospital, Arpita had come to pick up the gown for her. Mansi had tagged with her. Mansi had to leave for a relatives wedding so she too wanted to purchase a nice dress or sari from PSC.

Nishi on the other hand wanted to wear gown from higher range. Wearing an designer gown, that also from PSC was in itself a matter of pride. Since she was going to the workshop for Aakash, it was obvious for Aakash to take her shopping in that market. But he didn't want to go the rivals boutique. Since Nishi was adamant to buy from there, he decided to go in disguise. He put on a fake moustache and wore light brown colored contacts on top of which he wore thick glasses. Vikas too had accompanied them as he had nothing else to do.

Prateek too had come to the market as he had to go the jeweler. Also he had to pick up his suit to wear for Vidhi's baby shower and also suit to take with him to wear at the gala at the workshop. He had few more items on the list to take on his trip.

Since Arpita was not yet Eighteen years old, she didn't had driving license neither did Mansi. Atul could not take them as he was with Aarti at the hospital, so Arpita and Mansi took a cab. They had to get down at the entrance of the market as taxis were not allowed inside.

As they were paying for the taxi fare, they heard a comment, "Suddenly poor people too have earned so much money that they come to shop at such an affluent place to shop!".

It was Vikas who had commented. Aakash grabbed him and hid behind a pillar. Prateek too was standing nearby and was busy on his phone. He looked up and saw the girls and he laughed at the comment that he had heard and then got busy with his call. He was waiting for his order to get ready. He had free time so he had come outside of the jewelers shop to chat with his friend.

Since there was no one else in sight but Prateek, both friends assumed that it was Prateek who had passed the comment. Arpita got furious. "Let me go and teach him a lesson!"

Mansi stopped her. "Arpi let it go. We should not get involved with such spoilt brats. It will only ruin our moods. Let's finish our work and go to Aarti, she must be feeling bored and lonely". Arpita agreed and paid the fare and went about to finish their shopping.

Aakash watched everything and was surprised to see Aarti. He didn't know that it was her twin sister Arpita. "What is she doing here?"

Nishi replied, "Remember she is also going for that workshop. She must've come here to shop".

Aakash wondered what was Prateek doing in the market when they had function at home in the evening. He decided to keep an eye on him. He gave Nishi a wad of money and told her to go to PSC and buy whatever she wanted. Since they had to protect the reputation of Mishra's, they never bought things from Pankaj's boutiques. Even if they bought one once in a blue moon they paid cash and that also with the help of their employees or servants.

Arpita and Mansi went inside Pankaj's boutique and they tried on their individual dresses. Since both sisters were of same size, Aarti's dress fit Arpita like a glove. She looked beautiful in that midnight blue colored gown. So did Mansi in her light green colored Lehnga.

They paid for their dresses by credit cards and holding their bags they came out. As they were coming out, Arpita collided with Prateek, who was coming in. "I'm sorry!" Said Arpita and then looked up. Her anger shot up as she saw it was the same boy who had taunted them.

"Watch where you are going or else you will ruin your beautiful dress!". Commented Prateek in a flirtatious but friendly tone, which was his nature.

"Mind your business". Arpita shot at him angrily. "It's none of your concern where we are going or if our clothes gets ruined".

Prateek was shocked at her rude comment. "Excuse me! How dare you stand in my brothers shop and insult me?"

"The same way you dare to insult us". She was not intimidated by him.

"Do you even know who I am?" Prateek shouted back as he poked his finger on his own chest to point at himself. He accidentally touched his locket which had his initials P.S written on it.

Arpita saw it and read, "P.S". Then shook her head in pity. "Oh you Poor Soul! Those initials fit you perfectly - Poor Soul!" She gave him back for calling her poor, which he had not.

"How dare you?" He went livid as by now Pankaj's staff had gathered around them. "Do you know who's son I am? I am the son of the richest man...".

Arpita cut his sentence, "This is your brothers shop. Your father is a rich man and you are nothing but a spoilt brat who loves to brag on their success but has nothing to brag about himself. The day you have something to brag about your achievements come and talk to me. Maybe I'll get intimidated then". Saying this she left with Mansi.

A fuming Prateek followed them, but as he came on the last steps of the boutique he collided with someone. This time it was Vikas.

"Can't you watch where you are going?" He shouted at Vikas.

Both friends turned and saw him. Arpita was about to say something when Mansi dragged her from there. "Let's go from here Aaru...". When Arpita didn't move, Mansi literally pulled her, "Aarti let's go...". In her haste she forgot that she had come with Arpita and not Aarti.

Aarti...Aaru... this name was heard by Prateek and also by Aakash and Nishi who were standing at a distance but were out of everyone's sight. Aakash saw Prateek colliding with Vikas and he got an idea.

"Nishi do as I say". He told her what to do. She ran to call their driver.

Prateek saw it was Vikas and scoffed, "Well well well, this is none other than my world famous second cousin Mr. Vikas Mishra himself who has blessed me with his appearance".

By now his staff had come outside. They all knew who Vikas was as he was constantly in news. No one knew or had seen Aakash as he stayed in Delhi and had been keeping a low profile.

Vikas had stumbled and lost his balance. "Once a drunk, always a drunk". Prateek taunted him at which he came to attack Prateek. He pushed him and Prateek fell down. His staff came to his aid while Vikas's driver reached there.

"Hey mister, how dare you attack an innocent bystander?" It was Aakash who, instead of lashing at Prateek, lashed at his own brother and then slowly winked at him, silently asking him to do as he says. "Go away from here before I call the police and have you arrested for assault".

Their driver took Vikas from there who was still confused. Driver whispered to him that Aakash was planning something, only then did he quietly went with him.

"Friend are you okay?" Asked Aakash in a fake friendly tone.

Prateek dusted his pants, "Looks like today is a bad day for me. First I had to collide with that insolent girl and then with this drunkard".

Aakash's blood raged hearing him curse his brother. But he had to stay calm in order to achieve what he wanted. He wanted information about Prateek's plans for the trip. He feigned concern. "I hope you are not badly hurt. And don't let them ruin your day. They are not worth wasting time". He sounded so genuine and friendly that Prateek liked him immediately.

"Hi! I'm Prateek". Introduced Prateek by extending his hand for a handshake. As Prateek had never seen him before he didn't know that he had extended his hands towards his enemy, who was soon going to ruin his life completely.

Aakash gave him a fake name. Prateek asked him if he was free then they can grab a cup of coffee but only after he finishes all his work. Aakash agreed as this is what he wanted. He tagged along with Prateek.
By then Prateek's girlfriend, Monica, had arrived. Aakash let out a small whistle as she was beautiful. "Hey! She is my girlfriend so you better behave". Prateek warned him.

Aakash laughed, "Relax man I was only praising your girlfriend. I must say you have an impeccable taste!"

"That I do" said Prateek wrapping his hands around Monica's waist. They then proceeded with Prateek's shopping.

Their first stop was Pankaj's boutique. Prateek got busy with Monica searching for a dress for her as she too was accompanying him on his trip. Monica's father was one of the sponsors so he had managed for his daughter to participate in that workshop. When Prateek was not looking, Aakash stealthily took a picture of his suit and shirts on his phone. He took several more pictures of the items that Prateek had to pick. Including the picture of his locket which Prateek had given for repairing as its clasp had become loose.

After spending nearly an hour with him, Aakash exchanged fake phone number and left. His work was done. He had got what he wanted and maybe more.
As he left, Monica asked Prateek if he was going to call him? Prateek laughed, "I was only being friendly with him because he stood against my enemy. Then I was getting bored as you were not here. To keep me company and for standing against Vikas, I asked him to come with us. Now that our work is done, I don't need him anymore. I have plenty of friends and one girlfriend to keep me company!" He winked at which Monica laughed.

Aakash, who was once again hiding behind a pillar, had heard everything. He whispered, "Laugh as much as you want my so called friend, only time will tell who has used whom. This girl Monica looks like a dumb nutcase. If she is also going then she can come handy to ruin her own boyfriend".

At the Hospital...

On their way back, in the taxi, both friends sat quietly for some time till Mansi started to laugh. Arpita gave her a questioning look. Mansi laughed again, "I have known both sisters since last two years now and I still get confused as with which sister I'm hanging out with. I called you Aaru and you also didn't notice".

This made Arpita laugh, "That's right many a times you still call us with the other ones name. I guess our Twin Horror Show still confuses you". Both laughed and started chatting making Arpita forget about the market incident for a while.
"Hey isn't your birthday coming in few weeks?" Asked Mansi.

"Yes in about Two Months. Papa is so excited as we will turn Eighteen. He has promised us dresses of our choice and also a family vacation of our choice. We are also excited about it!" Chirped Arpita. They then started making plans when Mansi's phone rang. It was her mother.

Mansi wanted to come back to the hospital but her mother had called her back home as they had to leave early morning for another city to attend a relatives wedding. She left and Arpita reached hospital. She was once again fuming when she entered Aarti's room. "I swear some people are born arrogant".

Aparna asked her what had happened and she narrated the whole incident. "Forget about it. We won't shop there in future". Said Atul at which everyone agreed with him.

They started to chat when they heard a knock at the door. It was Harish Verma, who had come to see Aarti. Rather he had come on Sanjeev's behest to find out if Atul's daughter was actually sick and was in the hospital or was Atul lying to buy some time to give him an answer?

Harish handed the bouquet of flowers to Atul, that he had brought. Atul introduced him to his wife Aparna and then one by one to his daughters. Arpita had her back to him, when she turned Harish was stunned.

Atul laughed softly, "Yes they are twins. They are identical twins and so identical that it becomes difficult for others to identify who is Aarti and who is Arpita".

"Then how do you differentiate?" He was still making sure that he was not seeing double.

"We are their parents so I guess it comes naturally to us to identify and differentiate between them". Replied Aparna.

Harish stayed for few minutes then left. He had gone few steps when inquisitiveness made him return back. This time he didn't enter the room but stood outside to eavesdrop on their conversations.

Inside the room Arpita showed everyone the gown that she had picked from PSC. Looking at it, Aarti started crying. "I wanted to go to that workshop. It was my dream to go and I got the chance also but luck is not on my side. Now I'm in this hospital room and I won't get the chance to attend it". She again started crying as now because of her illness she would miss her trip to Ooty. She was looking forward to it, as few of her favorite Painters and Artists were attending the workshop and were to give lectures and special trainings to participating students.

On top of that it was in Ooty which was surrounded by natural beauty. Tall mountains and tea gardens, it was the perfect place and location for any artist to explore and work on their talents. Missing this trip would mean missing all this plus missing the lectures, trainings and seminars from those famous Personalities. Aarti was heartbroken.

Arpita couldn't see her in this condition. She decided she'll attend it in place of Aarti, disguised as Aarti. Aarti didn't agree with her. Arpita tried to convince her. "Aaru no one will recognize me. I'll attend lectures and seminars in your place and then when I return, I'll give you all the details".

"What do you know about Art and Paintings? What if someone asks you to draw something, anything, what would you do then? Plus I don't think Mumma-Papa will allow you to go in my place".

"I'll convince them. If someone asks me to paint something, I'll make a excuse that I have hurt my wrist and am not allowed to draw anything or even write anything. I'll use a recorder or the recorder on my mobile phone to record all the lectures, seminars and major events for you. This way you won't miss out on a single thing".

Aarti was bit convinced but bit scared also. She knew her parents won't agree. She looked at them with great hopes. As per Aarti's suspicion Aparna didn't agree. "What is this nonsense? Do you even know the gravity of this stupidity? If you are caught, Aarti will be thrown out of her college. Not only her career but her whole life will be ruined".

Before Arpita could say a word, Atul spoke. "Let her go. I liked what she said. She will handle it carefully".

Aparna wanted to protest, but one look at her husbands face and she knew there was some major reason for him to agree this soon and this easily. Even Aarti sensed it. In front of her Atul made the excuse that he was worried about her health.

Harish had a wicked smile when he left from there after hearing the whole conversation...

Around 4:00 PM at Sindhia Mansion...

The whole Mansion was beautifully decorated and was lit with multi colored lights. All guests had arrived and were enjoying themselves as Vidhi's baby shower was going on. Every family member was gathered around Vidhi and Pankaj was sitting next to her as rituals were being performed. Gayatri tied the threads on her wrist and showed her the smaller ones. "These will be tied to your baby on the day of the naming ceremony. These threads are blessings of our ancestors. They will protect both of you and keep you away from evil eyes. Make sure they don't come out or you don't lose them".

Vidhi promised she will take care of them. After getting them tied, she felt bit relief. But a part of her was still scared. She decided to talk to Pankaj the moment she gets a chance.

Where every guests were busy watching the rituals and chatting with each other, one man, who was around Manav's age and was standing in one corner, was eyeing her maliciously. He was an unknown stranger but had valid invitation card so security guards didn't even question him. He had his eyes on Vidhi during the whole function and was waiting for a chance to be alone with her. He got it after an hour.

After all the rituals were over, it was now time to enjoy the rest of the party. They had hired a famous DJ and people had started to dance on the lively Hindi songs that were being played. Yash, Prateek, Aman, Manav, Suraj had started to dance. Uday was busy attending some important guests. While Gayatri and Maya were looking after refreshments and attending other guests.

Prateek had dragged Pankaj also. Vidhi was sitting all alone and enjoying the frolic atmosphere. She felt thirsty and looked around. Everyone were busy so she decided to go and get some water. She had reached the kitchen when she felt that there was someone behind her. She turned and saw a man whom she had never seen before. Her first instinct told her to call for help. But then she thought if the man is a guest of Babu Ji and she misbehaves then all hell would break loose.

She asked politely. "Do you need something? Can I get you anything?"

"Oh I need lots of things and you are the only one who can get me those things!" He replied.

Something in his tone made her shiver. "Who are you?" She managed to ask.

"I am Vinod. I am your fathers younger brother!" He replied.

She assumed he was referring to Manav. "My father have no brother". Saying this she tried to get past him to go and find Pankaj or Yash or anyone.

"I'm your biological fathers younger brother". He said which made her halt in her steps.

It took her a moment to register what he had said. She turned to him and color drained from her face by the look on his face. He smiled, "It feels nice to see my niece living so lavishly". He said looking around his surroundings. Then he looked back at her. "But is it fair that she alone gets to enjoy all this luxury while we, her only blood relatives are living in poverty and misery?"

Greed was written all over his face. His smile widened. "It was my luck when I saw the invitation card of your baby shower that your adopted parents had so graciously sent to my wife Asha, who happens to be your biological mothers sister. She had kept it hidden from me but I found it and came looking for you".

Vidhi stumbled. Her voice cracked as she asked again. "Why are you here and what do you want?"

"Before coming here, I did all the research on you and your rich family. It came to my notice that your great-grandfather-in-law, Mr. Uday Pratap Sindhia is not aware of your original background. All I want is some cash and then I'll be out of here. If you don't want him to know that your mother died of cancer and your father was a drunkard then you will do as I say". He threatened her and told her an amount, hearing which Vidhi's head started to reel as it was an humongous amount.

"But I don't have that kind of money. Ladies in this family don't get to keep huge amounts of money with them". She managed to say.

"I know that your husband Pankaj is an renowned fashion designer. He himself has got tons of money. Giving me a drop from his ocean of wealth won't affect him. I know you will need time to talk to him and arrange for the money, so I'll leave you for now. But make no mistake, if you try to act smart and don't do as I say then get ready to face dire consequences". With this he left.

A stunned Vidhi managed to walk to a nearby chair and sit on it lest she fell on the floor. Color had drained her face and she was trembling terribly. That is how Pankaj and Yash found her when they came looking for her after few minutes.

Pankaj got scared by the look on her face. "Vidhi, sweetie what is wrong? Why are you trembling as if you have seen a ghost?".

Hearing his voice Vidhi looked at him for a second. Then she hugged him and started crying. Yash and Pankaj took her to her room as they didn't want others to find out what was wrong with her. Pankaj gave her a glass of water. She took a sip. After she had calmed down she told them what has happened.

It was now their turn to look stunned. "Pankaj what if Babu Ji finds out? What if this man keeps on blackmailing us again and again?" She was panicking.

Pankaj hugged her. "Nothing will happen. And even if something happens I promise you I won't leave your side".

Yash knelt in front of her. "Vidhi I have always promised you that I will protect you and stand by you. You don't have to worry about a thing, we brothers will take care of everything". Yash assured her. He then left them alone as Vidhi was still hysterical.

Yash went and informed everyone that Vidhi was exhausted and needed rest so Pankaj took her to their room. Uday went livid but could not say anything in front of the guests. Slowly and secretly Yash revealed what had happened to Aman, Manav, Maya and Gayatri. All were scared but had to put on a party face for their guests and especially for Babu Ji. Later, after the party, they all had to sit and find a way to get out of this situation before everything gets ruined forever.

Around Same Time at M.A.G (Mishra Advertising Group)

In Sanjeev's office, Aakash and Nishi were deeply engrossed in devising a plan to avenge Aarti. Now Prateek's name had been added to the list after the way he had behaved with Vikas.

"What are you two discussing about?" Asked Sanjeev as he entered his cabin and saw them discussing something.

Aakash told him about his meeting with Aarti and how she had slapped him in the middle of the college campus and had insulted him and Nishi in front of all students. Then he told him about his incident with Prateek. "I won't rest in peace till I teach her a lesson. And that brat also".

"Who is this Aarti?" Wondered Sanjeev. By then Harish too entered the cabin.

Aakash, thinking that it was Aarti, had taken Arpita's picture in the Market, when she was arguing with Prateek. He showed that photo to Sanjeev and Harish.

"Hey that's Atul's daughter!" Harish informed them.

"Isn't she in the hospital? Well in that case you won't be able to execute your plan and take your Vengeance. You will have to wait for some other time!" Sighed Sanjeev.

"The picture that you have taken is not of Aarti's but Arpita's". Harish dropped another bomb.

"No she is Aarti!" Protested Aakash and Nishi at the same time.

He shook his head and smiled. "Aarti and Arpita are twin sisters. They are so identical that no one can tell them apart". And he told them about his hospital visit.

"Looks like you can put your plan back in motion". Said Sanjeev.

"But I don't have anything against this Arpita. I want to avenge her sister and she won't be going on this trip". Said a dejected Aakash.

"Son let me tell you something very important. If you want to hurt your enemy then don't hurt them directly. Try to hurt their loved ones. Cause nothing is more painful than watching your loved one suffer in pain and agony". Suggested Sanjeev. "Now let me see what pictures you have taken of Prateek's shopping items and then lets start devising a plan".

Aakash showed them the pictures and all got into thinking. Suddenly a Devilish smile appeared on Sanjeev's face as he looked at one of the pictures. He had now got a perfect plan for his Vengeance.

He told them about it and they all got excited. Sanjeev then made some calls and placed some orders and ordered them that his orders should be ready in couple of days.

"Aakash, since Prateek has spent few hours with you, he will recognize your voice even if you go in disguise. My advice is that you join them two days later after everything that I have ordered arrives. Till then Nishi will take care of everything". Said Sanjeev looking at Nishi. "If everything works out the way that I have planned then we will not only avenge Prateek and Aarti but we will be able to make Atul so vulnerable that he won't have any choice but to work for us and do as I say". There was an arrogant smile on his face.

Just then his phone rang. With each passing second his face lit up. Then he made another call and ordered something to that person. "I want all the details on my desk by tomorrow's lunch time. The sooner you get them the handsomely you'll be rewarded".

After disconnecting the call, he pulled Nishi to him. "Looks like Lady Luck in on our side. Today I feel like celebrating. Celebrating all night. Meet me at my farmhouse in few hours. We will celebrate". He growled at her.

Any other girl would have died of shame had any man so openly and shamelessly flirted with her in front of her own father. Even the father would have died of shame. But not Nishi and her father Harish. After the first time with Sanjeev, Harish was no longer her father and Nishi was nothing but an cash earning machine for him.

Aakash was well aware of his fathers liaisons and it didn't bother him a bit. So he left from there as he had think about the plan. Harish too left the cabin while Sanjeev got busy with Nishi...

Back At The Hospital...

Aarti was napping as she was feeling weak and tired. Arpita sat on the couch and got busy reading her study materials that she had brought from home.

Atul said he wanted some tea so he went to the cafeteria in the hospital. Aparna followed him. They found a table in one corner where there was no one. They sat there quietly for few minutes till Aparna couldn't control anymore. "Why did you allow Arpi to go in Aaru's place?"

"Apu, both girls are good in sensing our emotions. They will soon guess that something has been bothering me. So it will be better that she is not here. With Aarti in the hospital it will give me time to think carefully". He then repeated what he had said earlier, "I think Aarti's illness has come as a blessing as both girls will be busy on their own. With Harish visiting in the hospital today, my instincts are telling me that it's not a good sign. I don't know how viscous or powerful Sanjeev Mishra is but something tells me he is not what he looks like. So it's better that Arpita goes on this trip and Aarti stays in hospital as they will stay away from my personal issues...".

Aparna and Atul were not aware that they were not saying their daughters but unknowingly making their innocent Arpita, a pawn of Devil's Vengeance....

----------------------------------------------------------------

Note...

I know in the above chapter Yash and Aarti hardly had anything to do or say. Sadly this will continue till next few chapters as those chapters will revolve around Arpita- Prateek and Aakash.
So please bear with me.

Once again I have left subtle hints of what is going to happen in the future.
Those who have read my fiction "Meant To Be (MTB)" they must be aware of how I work and how I build up my stories and then how I start to uncover everything, one layer at a time.

Yes it takes me time but then I cover all loopholes and give explanations and justifications to all that I had shown.
This fiction is also a very lengthy one. I don't know how many of you will stay with me till the end. But I assure you that I won't disappoint you.

I don't know how much time it'll take me to work on the next chapter. I hope you will be patient. I take time to work on my updates as I want to give the Best to My Readers. This is the least I can do for all of you for being patient and yet supporting me in your own way.

Thank You All and Love You All.

Nikki...

Edited! 😛

So the web keeps thickening! The Mishras are such vile opportunist that used such a simple misunderstanding to ruin lives. Now I can also see that they already knew it was Arpita and not Aarti who was in attendance at the workshop because of what Nishi's father overheard. They had the advantage to plot everything so well, and when an ignorant Yash made Aarti pay for it years later, their revenge was complete! The biggest victims in all of this is Aarti's family. They were simply pawns in this revenge ploy by the Mishras against the Scindhias...

It's sad that in trying to keep one daughter safe, they unwittingly released them both into the jaws of a merciless crocodile. Devil's only focused on their ploy for revenge and willing to hurt anyone along the way. Because whilst Arpita faced the revenge meant for her sister, Aarti faced the revenge Yash meant for Arpita.

And what disgusting relations Vidhi has! They abandoned her at an orphanage yet have the gull to blackmail her years later. Just reading your description of him made my skin crawl! Yikes! Too bad there is no disgust emoji! I have a feeling that the truth of Vidhi's past came out in a big way that it did not sit well with Babuji from hell!

But I gotta say that the Scindhias know how to get out of tight spots. Having to deal with their smart Babuji taught them to how to outsmart an opponent and come out at the other end. But I still feel that Vidhi's parentage will come out in a big way, how else will there be drama?

So the past is unraveling slowly but surely and soon we will get to the future can't wait! but I am ready for more headspins Alien ji 😆

Thank for sharing this beautiful story! 😃

Superb update. Liked all the details that were put into the update so that a good understanding of later incidents can take place. Aarti's father got an extension to make his decision and I liked that he asked tried to convince his wife to send Arpita on the trip as he wanted her to be away from things. Looking forward to what is in store next.
