different from others I am sorry but what ever happens to Prateek i am not going to cry about it neither will i say he deserves it. He is a spoilt brat. Yash you are right he is very procetive and passionate about his family also implusive but that said he has no right to hurt Aarti or anyone he is just as bad as his grand father, dadi buaji, and great grandfather. I said before that i liked Akash even when he was pretending to be some one else and now as the story is progressing I still like him. He to is passionate about his family and wants revenge to avenge his grand parents humiliation, i am not saying that he is correct but it is understandable the hate between the two old siblings is understandable weather it is in the past years or present things like that happens in families. The fight for wealth, right to property. name acceptance is an age old thing. Pankaj, Vidhi, Maya, her husband, G3, Aarti are so far my favourites. Pankaj is smart and sensible like G3 Yash also has some of her traits but i don't like his implusive stupidity without knowing the truth.
About Suraj being a coward I understand his stance because many of us here live with the same culture when the elders speak their word is law if you don't like you go grumble in your room or in some case the [adult son]husband takes out his stress by abusing his wife and kids [those who still live in joint families] those who live in nuclear families will dare to go against their father but what usually happens is they counteract by emotional drama/ blackmail of not speaking to you for the rest of their lives and don't show you face when they die. That is why I can understand Suraj's dilemma.
For me I would of challenge that old man and make him understand he is wrong and these are modern times thank god my grand parents were not like that they said find your butt in school and learn as much as you can because you have to take care of us when you are grown, and they told my brother don't think you alone will get the property you have to share equally with your sister. But like i said before our culture is similar to what you have described many families only the sons benfit and that leads to fighting sometimes bloodshed. So i understand what you are trying to show the enmity between Uday and His sister they both contributed to making their father a sucess then building their family's business their papa was wrong not to honour his daughter's hard work or give her son so token that he to is his grandkid, hate and stupidity passed on from one generation to the next.
A brilliant story Nikki awaiting the next update. ⭐️

Sharlene I had read your previous comment also. Indeed we are lucky to be born in a family where we got respect and love. Yes my grandma was strict lady but she never stayed with my parents or any of her other sons. I guess she knew that she won't adjust with anyone. Plus my grandma was not rigid or conservative. She was never against our education.

Regarding property sharing, well I have witnessed few cases where daughters didn't got a penny in the property after their parents died. That is what made me to show this here as I know such things happen in real life.

Coming to the rest of your comment...

Prateek, we'll all I will say is young and misled.

Regarding what you said about Yash and Aakash... Well I respect your opinion. But here I don't agree with you. But then I don't blame you as you don't know the real and whole story. I know, so I can defend my characters, but I won't cause right now I can't do that. If I open my mouth then I'll end up naratting the whole story. All I will say that the extent Aakash and his brother will go to ruin this family will change your opinion about him (at least I hope it does). There is a reason why I have introduced Vikas's character.
In my opinion, yes Aakash and his brother knows the way Urmila was treated by Uday and they want to avenge for it, but that doesn't mean that they end up being Devil's. But like I said, only I know the whole story so I have no right to defend any one right now.

Yes I agree what Yash did to Aarti is unpardonable and πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ. For that he won't be forgiven till the end.

Right now all I can do is once again request you not to form Firm Opinions on characters. Not even Mishras are what they are looking right now.

Except for Gayatri, Pankaj and Prashant (even Aarti and Arpita) all will have different shades.

Thanks once again for being honest with your comments. I genuinely appreciate it as it makes me thinks from all angles. Thanks once again πŸ€—

In the next two chapters many more things will get revealed. Frankly speaking, it drains me out when I have to think so much and from all angles. But when my readers are happy with the end results, all my efforts pay off.

Don't kwow when I'll post the next chapter as it will be another difficult and time consuming chapter to work on.

Will try my best though 😳

So what to say. I went back to re-aquaint myself wiht the story as there is so much going on and an so many people to remember. (You are not the only one with a bad memory πŸ˜›)
What a family, what a history, what a tradition and culture. I am not sure how to describe how exactly their lives were formed that everyone ended up so very very different.

Wow, G3, what a woman. She s strong and determined and she didn't let her wife and her circumstances get in her. She married the man she loved and she married into a traditional family even though she was not. She made the absolute best of her situation. What a little schemerπŸ˜ƒ but in such a good way. She was manipulated situations yet was not manipulative. She knew exactly how to get things by her f-i-l by using his ego and his need for socitety to hold him and his family in high esteem. She did the best she could for everyone in the family. What she did for Maya was commendable. So Maya had the a good loving husband and was educated as she never would have been had she not married Manav. G3's character is really admirable.

Both Uday and Urmilla have such flawed characters. And this was formed by their upbringing. Urmilla possessed such driver and skill and drive, she could have added such value to the company business, but she was sidelined by the brother and father all the time. I understand her frustrations completely, however she could have chosen to take a different path with her life and not be bitter. She had the skill and know how to start their own company, but not to exact vengeance on the family, just as a means to use her skill and know how to advance her family. She used her strength for evil, not even for standing up to her in-laws or husbands abuse for what it was. Her drive was her need for vengeance and hatred. And sadly those feelings and went down the generations to her sons and grandchildren,

Uday, was a horrible and selfish man. If he was a person of substance, he would have seen the value in his sisters contribution and acknowledged her. He treated everyone with disdain. He was a control freak and everyone had to dance to his tune. I don't know if it was a good or bad thing that G3 did not have any girls. It would have been interesting to see how that would have played out. But I suppose she ultimately Vidhi in her life as her daughter and then daughter in law. It's strange that he was so restrictive of everyone in the family, but then Prateek was given free reign to do whatever her wanted. Even to quit school and be a womaniser. His hand could clearly be seen in the way the boys grew turned out to be. Not so much Pankaj, but definitely the other 2.

You had anticipated the views on Suraj. Yes I found him to be a puppet. Not standing up for his sister, his wife or his children. He was the father to the boys, but he allowed his father to do all the decision making. I know you have explained the situation is dictated by traditions and culture, I still find it difficult to comprehend. So I will just leave it at that for now.

I see so much of Uday in Yash. As much as his mother tried to offer explanations (valid ones) for Urmilla's behaviour, Yash could not see it. His sense of protectiveness and his family and their business is what clearly pushed him over the edge when the Aarti / Arpita situation came. up. His only intention was to avenge whatever he perceived to have happened to his baby brother. The same way Uday publicly humiliated and punished Urmilla after them embezzling the money, the same way Yash publicly shamed Aarti by making her pregnant and denying her and the baby, until her found out what really happened. The truth that we still have to discover.

I can't wait to find out what the great reveal is!!!!!!!!

Once again, well written, brilliantly thought through. You really try to cover all the basis, yet leaving us hanging and wanting more. Once again, I have to commend your amazing work ethic. Yes, you stress and lose sleep but you really make it worth reading every word of your stories.

See, I overcame my fear just a little bit to make this commentπŸ˜†.

You already know it is an amazing story.

Happy Anniversary, love. Thanks for keeping the forum going and for your awesomely amazing stories. Much loveπŸ€—

Thanks for the comments. The whole family is sort of a dysfunctional family. Gayatri learned how to take care of her boys and fulfill their dreams and desires. She is one strong lady. You will like her more in future also. 😳

Thanks so much for the comments 😊

I am with you. Prateek is a spoiled brat but he is also Gayatri's son. After the workshop scenes, you will definitely feel sorry for him but in a sympathetic way. All I will say that he too will be as much of a victim as Arpita and Aarti were. Yes, including Yash also.

I'll reply in highlighted parts below the paragraphs of your comments, so that I don't miss out on anything...

First, thanks for the character sketch. I was loosing track, specially with Urmila side. So that helps a lot.

More that you all, I was getting confused trying to remember the names of all the new characters. Even when I posted the character sketch, I forgot to add Nishi's name. So it had become very important to make the list. I started adding the names as I started introducing the new characters.

So I re-read and adjusting my initial feedback. So I found the background very enlightening and its also giving me mixed feeling, between the elder passing they hate to the children and the consequences that follow. Aside from Pankaj who is the most reasonable or sensible one, the others are creating they own downfall like Prateek, Yash, Sanjeev children (legitimate or illegitimate; I had a feeling there since he had no respect for his wife).

Yes, Yash, Prateek, Sanjeev and his sons, Vikas and Aakash are all digging their own graves. The deeper they dig, the harder their downfall will be.

No Vikas and Aakash are Not Sanjeev's illegitimate sons, cause Hema gave birth to them.

Sassy, I was in two minds to show something in this fiction. After reading your comment, now I'll go ahead with it and show it. In fact it's not one, but two things. Something that I have never shown before. One of the things will come in the next chapter itself. The second one will come at the very end of this fiction. (We will have to wait for long for that)

Uday is horrible, I can't find any redeeming quality in him at all. And Gayatri being an intelligent woman managed to outsmart him when it was important or she would have greatly suffered too since she cannot count on SP to defend her in front of his father. I wonder if she doesn't regret marrying him sometimes even if she is glad with her baby. IS the price of love too high, probably since the consequences will be dramatic. At least she managed to get Maya her happy ending or she'll have end up bitter and angry all the time. The lack of consideration in this family for women is too much.

In Gayatri's defense, I'll say that she was too young when she got married. She was only 19 and barely 21 when she became a mother. Yet she was too intelligent to find ways to trick Uday for her own benefits, which was to fulfill her kids dreams and also to help Maya to get the love and care that Maya never got in her own parents house.

Poor Gayatri and Hema can see the disaster coming a mile away but powerless to stop it. I really like the fact that Pankaj is the voice of reason here and able to see people, his grandfather, for who he is, a selfish, cold, unforgiving, demanding, controlling jerk. When is SP going to wake up and take control or is it too late for him? But you made a good point with the cultural aspect. I can also understand the elders and the mainly the men words being law, because it's the same in my culture. Our Grandmother generation have suffered from this, they were not able to give their opinion, or wishes something or think of going against their spouse or the man of the family. And your portrays tis thru Geeta. I guess its easy now for us to be horrified or shock because we've been lucky to get more freedom but still the issue remains even today.

Gayatri and Hema could see the upcoming storm, but when their own husbands were turning a blind eye to it, they could only stare at the approaching storm. Here Gayatri has got sons who loves her and respects her. Yes Yash and Prateek too. Sadly Hema don't have such kids who will ever listen to her. Pankaj is responsible and reasonable, so is Yash, here the problem is, Yash is impulsive and over protective. He too stands against Uday, but in way that Gayatri does. Here he has got his mothers traits. But in future when he will see his family suffering, for which he will avenge Aarti, that time he won't see anything but his revenge. (I can't and I won't say anything further for obvious reasons)...

By the time SP realizes the extent of damage Uday has done to his family and his kids, it will be too late. I have already shown that because of Uday's interference in Prateek's life, a rift has started between Gayatri and Suraj.

Actually it was your comment in MTB that made me give clarification on Suraj's character. Yes it's easy for us to now show our judgment on them, cause we were raised by understanding parents.

In my fathers side of the family, it was my grandma who was very strict and not even my grandfather could say anything to her. She was strict for her DIL's only.

But still my grandma was not rigid like Uday. She was never against girls education or was of the thinking that girls should stay at Home and learn household chores. Maybe that's why everyone in our family still respected her despite her being so strict.

Despite Geeta trinkets gift and good wishes, that will not prevent the sons' downfall, after all the bad deeds from their grandfather befalls on the next generation and the next. There is this saying about reaping what you sow. I disagree with her statement on Maya and Urmila life in this house , cause they have not been happy there. For this reason I am glad that Gayatri did not have daughter for she would have been submitted to Uday daily taunts or neglect.

There's this saying that sometimes parents pay the price for their children's deeds and sometimes children's pays the price for their parents. Here, no amount of ancestors blessings are going to save Yash and Prateek.

Sass, Geeta does say that she doesn't want any daughter to be born in that house for that daughter would face what Urmila and Maya faced growing up.

As for Urmila, well bitterness and deep hate change her to this hard, unforgiving woman, should she have forgot and forgive probably not, but to become about one goal, vengeance against her brother well that extreme and not good at all.

Sass, from MTB days, I have been saying this that I strongly believe that it's circumstances that makes or breaks a person. Since she was a kid, Urmila was ignored by her own father and brother. The ones who should have been her protectors became her arch enemies. Because of them she lost her dignity, her honor and her husband. Uday got everything in life so easily while she had to fight and steal for those very things yet still she never got them. That is what made her so vengeful.

The youngsters are showing signs of the elders due to bad raising; now I see why Prateek is headed for a bad path (agree with Sharlene feedback on him) and Yash excessive ego will make him take bad actions and be unforgiving and so wrong. The fact that Urmila deliberately raise her child as weapon against Uday is horrible. In the end she is the one suffering more cause so far Uday is winning this battle. By the way the details you have added regarding Vidhi make much more sense now.

Prateek is also very young here. He is going in the direction where his grandfather is pushing him. Like is replied to one reader, here Prateek is also Gayatri's son, so he can't be that bad. Neither can be Yash. That's all I can say about their characters right now.

Urmila is deliberately raising her grandkids to be vengeful towards Sindhia's. Whereas Gayatri is still trying her best to instill good values in her sons. That is why Yash (and Prateek also) loves Vidhi so much. That's why Yash made sure that Vidhi gets married to Pankaj. Here I will give him and Prateek benefits of the doubts,

I am not looking forward to the next set of chapters cause of the upcoming intense drama which will hurt of course, but at the same time, well I want to known more. I know I am of two mind but its probably a sign of a great story. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Ah! I have now scared away one more reade, like Mario. But I guess you are stronger than her (Shh! Don't tell her. It's our secret πŸ˜‰). I know she will read this comment that's why I said this πŸ˜†

My reply is in the colored highlighted part.

Thanks so much Sassy for supporting me and taking so much interest in this fiction and for giving me your honest opinion πŸ€—
