Finally reality of PV coming to end is settling in my system and I feel a strange emptiness engulfing me from inside. All good things come to an end and PV is no exemption; then why I feel this strange emotional pang... though as diehard Eijaz fan I want to watch him daily on my screen But more than that I want the show to end in a more decent manner exploring the lives of uncanny couple caught in marriage of convenience and long lost lovers got into wedlock after years of separation. The concept is realistic and refreshing but was never deservingly acknowledged, recognised & celebrated by the channel.
I am watching PV from day one; the show has had a tumultuous journey, seen many ups and downs, been plagued by one constraint for too many and yet the fact remains that PV had many deeply touching moments...magical moments...heartbreaking moments...heart wrenching scenes...some finest performances...effortless chemistry (I loved Sarita's chemistry with Raj and equally enjoyed her with Vikrant)...magical eye locks that have made it possible to digest the worst of the show. We all knew PV is not a regular saas-bahu saga; it has a realistic content set in middle class background. The show was never rosy, mostly grey and at times even darker; (Of course, the content has a huge business potential which PH failed to bask)
"Punar Vivah-Ek Nayi Umeed", show started on a good note - The Unwanted Wife caught midst two love birds. Sarita and Raj are in marriage with unhappiness and disillusionment and Raj deciding to get his wife remarried, in the process he himself falls in love with her, but gets separated for various reasons and starts life afresh. The story is not unique but the characterization and treatment of protagonists is truly refreshing to watch. It attempts to look at the finer emotions, complicated relationships, social obligations, deep rooted insecurities, haunting memories, sub conscious desires and some extremely relevant social issues. PV may not stand out as a realistic master piece but it did show real and raw emotions to an extent, though not pretty appealing yet honest in a way.
What does the show mean to you all? Why you all loved it so much making you to revolt against show ending? What is the outstanding quality of the show that kept captivated you all along? Here I'm not talking about actors, romance, chemistry, inner qualities, expressions or struggle...I'm trying to look beyond that, the nucleus...that made the show what it is...Undoubtedly for me it was, is, SARITA--the biggest reason to watch the show that kept me captivated through most part of it (though later on being EK fan I shifted priorities) ...Eijaz entered the show when I was giving up and kept me glued to the screen and brought me to the forum.
Sarita and Raj marriage is a perpetual winter wasteland, but still she wants to feel the warmth of the sun on her face again. And what makes her different? She does not want to escape! She is not any typical Bahu, all docile and quiet who endures the taunts of in laws without standing up for herself. She is bearing the grunt of his resentment towards the circumstances of their marriage. But she didn't become withdrawn as most women would have...she is still a strong woman with a mind of her own. Now that is true spunk. How a spunky, inquisitive, naive girl goes through social conditioning, family pressure, baggage of relationships transform her into bitter yet calm composed self unlike her early marriage days. Sarita is a COLLECTIVE IMAGINATION of numerous roles a woman portrays with ease and elegance. After a very long time, I have seen a DEFINITIVE woman character on Television that had depth, elegance, innocence, poignant, insecurity laced with undying confidence and strength in a truly realistic fashion. She represents and inspires many women who aren't independent; socially and economically YET challenges the set of morals, customs defining the woman's role and relationship against man and society.
The remarkable part is Sarita's portrayal as tormented wife; the characterisation and portrayal is splendid. She made a NEW BEGINING that marks the Journey of a tormented wife towards a new life for her husband's happiness. "If you love someone, let them go. This is true love of noblest kind, the kind that connects a human being to divinity". Sarita's love speaks of honour, sacrifice and selflessness. Her character did lost direction at places but she still maintained the elegance even when she was caught up in a loveless marriage. She has channelized her energies for a mission; a mission to nurture Abhi into a good human being and redeem Mr.Suryavanshi yet remained the way she is... She represents that set of women who mould themselves according to the situations, adapt to changes retaining true nature yet make their identity. She is an ordinary woman with amazing strength that spills out as natural imbibed QUALITY AND NOT AS EXPRESSION, enabling many ordinary girls/women to identify with her.
The track dealing with liberation from her ex husband, her past and memories is touching and pragmatic. At times I found the track irritating but still it was realistic. Ending a relationship is never easy; ending a marital relationship you have grown with, investing years of life, friendship, and love is even tougher. She held the memories close to her heart; as a source to drive the strength and energy to fight her battle; a battle against her own insecurities and haunting memories for self liberation. Her emotionally distant behaviour and aloofness get on our nerves but it makes her even more attractive and enigmatic for the opposite gender. liberating from past is different from divorce, especially when the past occupies most part of your life; you can always get over people but getting over the memories either sweet or bitter is tough as they won't disappear into vacuum and sit in your sub conscious memory; this is all dealt in a very realistic way unlike some shows which show this in spur.
Her relationship with Vikrant was dealt in a subtle fashion...they have shared hatred, bitterness, uncanny attraction, empathy, softness, emotional bonding and love, complementing and completing each other in all ways. She taught him to express emotions, to accept and reciprocate affections and to acknowledge the emotional need. Sarita's journey with Vikrant is truly a roller coaster ride to watch with oozing chemistry. Regardless of the promotions, cliched tracks, and ordinary sets without substantial sidetracks the show has delivered decent TVT and succeeded to grab the eye balls across the globe
Thank You Srishty Rode for immortalizing Sarita in our hearts; I wish you all the best for your future endeavours and hope you'll never fail to allure me with your phenomenal acting and colossal performance. Stay Blessed...!!
