@Misti: 😆Yes, I used to write quite long and I loved writing essays in both Hindi and English. Why am I not surprised. 😆 My teachers would have loved you. They were driven up walls trying to make me understand that four to five line answers were not sufficient to explain a point in either English or Hindi. I remember in Eng Lit when we had to write the answers to the reference to context questions in any of the Shakeaperean dram that was part of our syllabus, my answers always used to be maximum 4 sentences. I could never understand that I have answered the question and have mentioned the context to which they were asking, then why do I have to go on and on about it.My assays used to be maximum three quarters of a page and half the time I used to yawn writing them 😆 I remember when I was in sixth or seventh grade, I ran out of my time on my midterm because I just kept on writing my essay and then had to finish the rest of the paper in half an hour. Other than history and geography, I usually used to have time in the humanties subject. 😆 After that I learnt time management and left essays for the last. In my comprehensives for the Ph.D. program, we used to have about 14 hours of exam spread over two days. Whew!! Thank God we didn't have them. There were 14 essay questions and I took every second of it. My teachers only comments were that I prepared well and knew my topics and that they were amazed that somebody could write so much in an hour for each question. There are no grades assigned to those essays. It is either Pass or Fail. So I would have got the same grade if I had written half of what I wrote. Oh I will like you as my student. Recently I had to check some Masters answers scripts were this student had written using mobile phone text language. Now in my current job, I have learnt to write quite concisely as it is a government job and there is a lot of emphasis on short sentences and very precise/concise stuff. I had some difficulty in the beginning and used to argue with my boss that his editing is changing the context and meaning of my sentence. 😆😆 Now at least for technical stuff, I am very concise. Now writing on the forum is a different thing. Maybe one of these days, I would learn to edit and write in short sentences.

And if I couldn't get it from Universal store in Lucknow, there is no way I can find it anywhere else. Maybe I will buy English translation, but I always feel that the Hindi translation is the best after the original as a lot of essence is still retained in the translation. I have not been very happy with English translations of these pieces of literature for the most part. oK I will PM you the story. I do accept that getting a hindi translation is better than english ones. Specially hindi is very similar to bengali and their are many similar words in the two language. In most cases what differentiates the words are their pronounciation.
