The TRIO of PV2'.Divya-Raj-Sarita

The story is unfolding but we have seen glimpses of these characters. Yes, there are many questions yet to be answered. But what can we gleam from what we have seen'These is a compilation of various thought of different individuals..

1) Divya: A girl, probably in her late teens, suddenly loses both her parents, and is left with a responsibility of 2 younger siblings who are not old enough to take care of themselves. She now has to be a parent/guardian to them. Goes looking for a job and lands one in Mumbai. Sacrifices her love, her dreams, her aspirations and takes care of her young siblings, educates them, makes sure they are married and well settled with their respective life partners and then, and only then thinks about her own life, her own marriage, her own dream (in spite of being the eldest). Divya's memory of Raj was frozen in time and she expected him to be exactly as she left him. This shows her strength of character'.her sense of responsibility and her priority.

She is clear in her thought and fair to the others too. Just the way she took decisions for her siblings, she also gives them the freedom to do good for her. There is an all-around personality. In love she is possessive, and felt hurt that Raj had indeed married, but she has no intentions to get back into his life. Now that she came to realize Raj is married and settled and moved on (but does not know that Raj is in a loveless marriage and not forgotten her), decides to do the same. Again we see her strength in being honest with Gaurav. Liked the fact that she expressed honestly to Gaurav about her past. Justice is done to her character.

2) Raj: The character of Raj has started to open up. Few episodes ago, we saw him say clearly that he was forced into an unwanted marriage; he stood his ground and said that he cannot move ahead with Sarita. But he spoke for her and told the family members to stop this ill treatment given to Sarita. It was known to everyone that he was not interested in this marriage, nor is anyone in his family bothered about his happiness.
Yesterday, we saw another aspect of him, where he wants to know what is the penalty for leaving someone high and dry in a railway station 10 years back, and the penalty for the same person today who is piercing his heart by going ahead in her life with someone else. Very evident that though he has turned into a hard hearted person he still has feelings for Divya. So his character is definitely taking shape. Today we again saw in flashbacks that he was devasted after Divya left him'gave up on his dreams. Does he resent Divya now? What will be his reaction when he comes face to face with Divya?

3). Sarita is the only unexplained character but who is getting sympathy and may not be fully justified. We know less of her reasons. What we know is that may be she secretly loved Raj and was willing to marry, in spite of knowing (overheard the conversation before marriage) that he loved someone else. May be she thought he will change, she will be able to change him. That has not happened in 10 years, so why did she not move on? And why was she shocked when the talk came up about her punar vivah? The MIL does throw darts at her, but Sarita is not a meek bahu and can fight back. Today she comes to know who the person in Raj's life was. What will be her reaction? How will she deal with her. Her character to me is to yet evolve as well.

Let's see how these three characters in the story evolve and how they each will deal with the unexpected/ unwanted turn of events in their lives'

Whose Punar viavah will it be?

Very well analyzed the characters specially Divya as i felt the same for her who is not selfish , at tender age she took the responsibility and fulfilled that , not thinking about herself in all these years .But she was frozen in 10years time frame ,thinking Raj will also be waiting for her . why she did not once contacted him in all these years , thinking perhaps she will become weak by his pleadings to come back . She is honest , her values appears in her upbringing .

Still Raj ,s character is not clear to me , he was very rude when he talked to Sarita on their wedding night , it was not her fault if you could not take your stand and married that girl .we do not know her family background , she is from more rich family but are they progressive in their thinking , what they think about the girl who is married .

As for Sarita may be someone must have guided her that everything will be fine when you are married , it can be only crush and he will forget that girl as it normally happens in the small cities and conservative families . Sarita had none to support her not her husband who totally ignored her existence. What will anyone will do in that mad house , either you become subdues or after sometime become rebellious, matter of survival in that jungle .

I just had one question , do you think Divya would have survived in that house if she did not had this celebrity status and belonged to another cast . She seems to belongs to cultured family . When the harsh realities of life are before you then love flies out of the window , just in case of Raj , who does not have guts to stand on his own

story is unfolding . we are getting glimpses of all three of them
Today the scene standout for me when Sarita goes to Divya, s place and asks for haldi and Divya looks at her sindoor with sad eyes . both were sad .
story is interesting but would like to see less crass language of mad house

Nicely written. You know Divya side of leaving hasn't been explained at all. But why did she leave, she could have stayed and take have sis and brother. Still doesn't make sence. And then come back thinking he would have waited. Did she ask him to wait. Maybe she did. Because Raj was angry when he heard she is getting married why?And Raj why didn't he take the next train and go after her. And Sarita why did she marry Raj despite knowing he loved someone else. Why stay in a marriage. And now wants his love. You cannot force someone to love you? So many questions no answers.

Radhika,I like your views on trio. Do I blame all or do I blame none...0r may be that time where nobody had the control over one's duty to their respective family. Did Divya had too much trust & faith on Raj, it seems she didn't have any interest in anyone during her struggle for ten years. It seems she has a very good values from her parents, that is the trust. Per her thinking, true love does wait forever, am sure Raj must have known what happened with her, her pain & her struggle to survive, he should have waited, She must have thought that he will understand her leaving him if he truly loved her. She left & the same time he got married. Sarita married him thinking money changes everybody, can buy love too. Even his family thought so too in the beginning, but as time passed everybody's patients started to break & saas-bahu started to blame each other, probably inside they may be blaming themselves for this present condition. And the two sisters following their mother not knowing the truth, I like story

Radhika...I agree on your analysis of the great trio. Divya had unconditional love for Raj. In the flashbacks it seemed that Raj did not want to leave Divya. Divya is very brave girl...instantly she had to grow up and be the parent of her younger siblings. Raj was just starting his career. Divya's siblings are only her responsibility. If you were in Divya's shoes would you want your love to sacrifice his life for your own!!!!
Sarita still is a mystery...she knew from beginning Raj loved someone else...hence he was missing from wedding festivities. So why did she agree to marry Raj...was it family pressure for herself. Why did she all these years still in loveless marriage including taking in all the years of verbal abuse. She is not bholi bhali ladki...she fights back the verbal abuse. Sarita even has tried many times to woo Raj with no luck...why???
It appears that she is from rich family so why is she taking all these verbal abuses...If I were in her shoes I would have probably left this crazy family unless I truly loved the person I married. These are the mysteries hopefully will unfold as the story unfolds. It has only been a week...time will tell whose Punaar Vivaah will be. Story is very interesting and different. I am enjoying PV2. All the characters are etched very well. I love the MIL of Sarika and also grand MIL. Divya has groomed her family really well. They're very supportive of her. They want best for her including her sister in laws and brother in laws. It is very important in a relationship to be honest with one another and Divya has done that with Gaurav. It was Gaurav decision to marry Divya despite her past.
There are flows in the story but nothing is perfect in life. I am not going go into that right now. But the characterization of trio has really made me watch the show further...

Love your analysis. I think Divya is being targeted for no fault of her's.Before saying anything it's very important to find out her past. And,I feel Divya blindly trusted Raj & thought he would stand by her through thick & thin. But,when she needed him the most he wasn't there for her. And,so she had to sacrifice her love for her family.Don't understand why Sarita is tolerating so much & why she agreed to get married to a man who loved someone else. Can't find words for Raj.On one hand he hasn't given Sarita his wife's status, but got married to her. And,on one hand he's waiting for Divya.I think he's not strong enough to stand up for his right. We'll have to wait & watch.

Nice post Radhika.

Each of us have a different view on understanding the characters. Divya really comes across as a person who has loved Raj deeply that she has not thought of anyone else during her 10 years of her career. But she does not expect that Raj will be waiting for her but hopes that he will be, that is the reason for keeping her fingers crossed. So somewhere deep within she accepts that it is too much to expect someone to wait for her for so long. She did go out on a rainy night to let out her feelings and emotions which she is entitled to, she was alone when she cried in distress and at the end of it she realised she has no place in Raj's life and needs to move on too. She did not expect any explanations from Raj or wanted to get back into his life again. She does come across as a matured human being and give her life a second chance. I also liked the fact that she explained her past to Gaurav. So her character is explained the best.

Raj needs to prove himself. He was lost when Divya left him, but we need to see that confrontation between the two of them before Divya left. He has not been open with Sarita it seems about his love for Divya and married her falling for the family pressures. But his love for Divya and her deserting him has made him a stone, and he has even given up on his passions, interests and dreams. He did not like the fact when Sarita was insulted in is presence, stood by her by taking the blame on himself. Also encouraged the PV for Sarita as he cannot move on with her. He is adamant but we need to see more of him.

Sarita had things under control when she overheard the convo and realised that Raj was in love with someone else. She could have confronted Raj, sorted out matters before going ahead with this marriage. It is her life and as much as possible she needs to be in charge of it. Assuming that she comes from a conservative family and she also has been forced into this, then she is responsible for today's situation...she has no idea about Raj-Divya relationship at all, she just knows that there is a girl in Raj's life because of which he is not moving ahead, but it's unfair to hold Divya responsible for her difficulties in life.

We need to know more of Sarita too.

Thank you all for your comments...
As they said initially...this is a mature love story. It is no one's fault..no one need to be blamed. Sometimes circumstances force a course of action...all three have lost somethings in their lives...
The most mature person to me is Divya...in her ability to deal with the challenges in her life.

Raj, is also stuck in time...in his past ...in his love for Divya...but is also angry at the circumstances. Hence giving up on his dreams and although married Sarita, not being able to accept her as his wife.

And then there is Sarita, who appears on the surface as the one who "suffered the most" ...but is that really the case? She chose of her own will to get into this "loveless" marriage and stay in it, in spite of seeing no indication for change...and now asking Divya to help her sort out her problems...

I hope the story moves forward and is told in a sensitive manner, with depth and revelation of the feelings of each of the characters...I hope they really show the conversations..especially between Raj and Divya and a further understanding as to why Sarita chose to marry and stay in the marriage..
