Note: I am not bashing the character of Divya, so fans do not take this in a negative way and please engage in a healthy discussion.

I know how hard it is to forget your first love. I've been through it. And it's so hard moving on with your life. But do any of you think that Divya is being selfish? I mean 10 years is a lot of time to move on. It is another matter that neither Raj or Divya were able to move on because of their unconditional love for each other.

I feel that Divya is being selfish for your love expecting him to be standing there waiting for her 10 years later, when she left him without any reasoning. If she had told him why she was leaving and that she would return later, then the case would have been different. But she just left Raj there crying for her. That was so wrong to do. And now 10 years later, she wants that Raj back. She still wants him to be hers.

On the other hand, there's Sarita who got married to Raj because of her parents. If Raj really wasn't going to accept her as his wife, why did we get married to her? Family pressure isn't a good reasoning. No one can FORCE you to marry against your own will. Unless it was a life or death situation, Raj wasn't compelled to marry Sarita. Just look at what the poor girl has to go through after marriage.

I find Divya's character to be very selfish though I do understand her love for Raj. One thing I really liked is that she was open with her to be husband and she told him everything. I admired that trait of hers.

What do you all think?

Yeah I agree with you. She was selfish in the sense that she just left him there hanging, crying for her, without giving him a proper closure. She expected him to wait ten whole years for her, but she was hiding from him at the train station. She did all of this for her own family and her career, so in that sense she was only thinking about herself, which makes her selfish. But I don't think she was wrong to leave him for her family or career. I just think it was wrong to live with the delusion that he would still be waiting for her and that he wouldn't be able to move on.

I also really like how she is very honest. I'm glad she told her soon to be husband everything, it seems like Raj didn't tell Sarita anything before their marriage, and she had to find out for herself. At least Divya didn't make that mistake. Gaurav knew what he was going into before accepting the marriage proposal, a right to the truth that Sarita unfortunately didn't have.

^ the problem isn't that she left him. family always comes first. the problem is that she left him without any reasoning. what's the guarantee that 10 years later my first love will come back to me? there is no guarantee.

Yeah, she left with the expectation that he'd be waiting for her. But she didn't realize that this was not a perfect world. She didn't realize that time wouldn't stop for her.

If she really wanted him to wait for her, then she should have been completely up front and honest about her expectations. But from what we've seen, she was hiding herself from him on the train, while he was frantically searching around for her.

Since she was able to be completely honest about her feelings and everything about herself to Gaurav, I think Gaurav brings out the best in her.

If she left him for her family & career, she could of just told him to wait. Basically she could of confronted him.

But if there is a deeper secret behind why she left for 10 years, then I may understand why she kept him in the dark.

Yeah it all depends on what is shown. We haven't seen much of her reasoning yet. Hopefully we'll be enlightened soon. But based on what we've seen, we can only see her having unrealistic expectations and selfish reasons for leaving. Maybe that isn't the case at all. Let's see if this is revealed in the upcoming episodes.

All three character has some mistakes..a selfish person is that who always think of his before others..divya may be selfish if she enjoyed her love life and left her family to suffer..in this way Raj is also selfish who thinks for his family and he marry sarita..they showed us a scene whr divya is hiding in railway station...what happened before that?then how does raj s mariage happen...

Till now we see that divya expect him to wait..and it is her fault, what why is thr any promise???let us see

I agree with you, but Divya did think of herself and her family before Raj right? That can be classified as being selfish too. It depends on perspective. I would do the same thing Divya did if I was in her position and if I really had to somehow help my family for extreme reasons (I'm assuming that the reason is logical, it hasn't really been shown yet), but that would actually make me selfish for abandoning the love of my life. But yes, I do think Raj is selfish. He doesn't care about Sarita as all, does not treat her with the slightest bit of respect. In 10 years, he has not treated her like his wife once. In my opinion, the fact that they hadn't consummated in 10 years or him having no emotional attachment with her was unrealistic. Maybe he is emotionally attached, but he's hiding it behind a hard layer of obsession for Divya. But yes I do think he's selfish for making Sarita's life a living hell because of his relationship with his ex.

Honestly, Raj should just divorce Sarita if their relationship is going no where. What's the point in her wasting her time and life after a guy who doesn't give a 2 rats about her. But then again she does love him and wants to do anything to change his mind about her and for him to start loving her. You can look at it in two different ways.
