Nice take dear.
Yes, Sarita bowled me over too. Her character superseded my expectations. In the first two episodes, her frustration was shown through mannerisms only, but in yesterday's episode, she blasted out in front of her MIL like anything! This clearly shows the level of her frustration in staying with this dysfunctional family. At first she didn't lash out her anger, despite being insulted in front of her Divya, because she was aware of guests being in house...but her utter patience reached a testing point when the MIL started almost manhandling her.
She is just like any normal girl...anyone would behave like this only when put in such trying situations!! She was correct to point out to her MIL that despite all these tough conditions only tv bahus can do "Jee Maaji" in front of such a irritating MIL!! Also one thing is she knew that these people have got her married to their son for money...and also boldly challenged her MIL that if she has guts then to throw her out of the family! MIL had to shut her mouth!! Whoa!! Sarita was just awesome in both the scenes she had to do. In both the episodes, she was screaming her lungs out...not because she was mad but because she was provoked to do so! I am not still very sure as to why she is staying in this mad house though!?? It was completely refreshing to see her shouting...rather than being a coy and docile bahu (as always shown in TV!)
Coming to Divya. She is possessive about Raj. And its clearly being expressed by her. The entire Saas- Bahu scenario took right in front of her. At first, She witnessed how Raj's mother was cursing and calling all names to a particular 'Sarita' and cringed at that. And then she was shocked to finally face the most dreadful truth of her life...her face paled and breath stuck when she came to know that Raj got married! Her Raj got married!! Then started the game of cursing-shouting game of MIL. However, instead of being a coy and docile bahu, Sarita lashed out in return, much to Divya's surprise.
However, i would like to point out one thing here...Divya was heartbroken at this moment, and despite knowing that MIL was at fault, she only found fault only with Raj's wife. Not the lady Sarita -- but Raj's wife! It pained her, hurt her, slashed her heart to know that some other lady was her Raj's wife now, that he must be loving that lady now, would have shared his 10 years with that lady now. In my opinion, Divya felt jealous and hurt of Sarita and hence only found faults with her and not the MIL, though her sane brain must have noted that MIL was also at fault. I don't think she negated/ ignored all of Kamla's abusive rants because she was Raj's mother...she felt uncomfortable with that in the initial moments...however, her heart was only trying to find faults with Sarita. That's the reason when she came back home and spoke to her family, she had only negative things to say abt Sarita...she didn't even mention Kamla because her heart was only thinking how Sarita had taken her place in Raj's life! She found fault with every single thing of Sarita -- the way she spoke, the manner in which wore her saree everything, the manner of her make up! Every single thing of Sarita poked her! Moreover, Sarita's backlash gave her even more reasons to point fingers at her! Not because she didn't realize that MIL was the one to push Sarita but because Sarita was her Raj's wife. Her brother pointed it out very well! ANd she accepted at last, that she was angry that Raj moved ahead in his life. The flashback scene only went on to show how possesive she was abt Raj. For such a girl, to accept Raj's wife was simply very difficult.
Yes, Divya was wrong too. She should not have left him without giving any sort of hope for him to wait for her...and yet wishing that he would wait for her. (I am still wondering why she left him, what was her so called Majboori for which she had to leave him. She could have gone to Mumbai, with a promise to remain in touch and return back when she settles her siblings, i am sure he would have happily waited for her!) She felt angry today, that Raj didn't understand her majboori...but what was her majboori?
For me Divya and Sarita...both are totally humane characters...with no mahanta in it. Infact, they clearly are showing that even a person who essays the perfect, docile and oversweet bahu in tv shows, is clearly humane in real life. On one hand Sarita doesn't hide her frustrations and lashes back strongly...and on other hand Divya thinks that Raj should remain her's forever no matter what...and can't take the fact that he's moved on with someone.
Well, hope they show some of Raj now. His feelings, his emotions...😊
