We had earlier reported about Deeya and Tony Singh's new show Visarjan on Colors. Now we have news that, actors Jaya Bhattacharya (best known as Payal from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) and Lalit Parimoo have been roped in to play key parts in the show. They will portray the characters of the lead girl's parents. Meanwhile, the hunt for the lead faces is still on.

The show earlier titled, Badi Malkin, was meant for Zee TV but since the channel was tight-fisted, the show went to Colors and it is all set to go on air in January 2010.

A source from the production house informs, "Kajri is the name of the protagonist. Lalit Parimoo and Jaya Bhattacharya will play her parents. Lalit is the patriarch of the family, he's a blind sculptor. A God-fearing man, he is righteous and believes in the unity of the family. New face Rohit will play a negative character in the show. The shoot will begin in the first week of December in Jaipur."

Bhattacharya who is in Hyderabad heard our question and asked us to call her up in a couple of days while Parimoo confirmed the news. He said, "Yes, I am playing the lead's father. Apart from this, I can not divulge any details."

Badi Malkin becomes Visarjan

Tellychakkar had earlier reported that Deeya and Tony Singh were making a show called Badi Malkin for Colors. The latest we have heard on this is that the show is renamed as Visarjan and will go on air from January 11.

The show was earlier meant for Zee TV but since it wasn't willing to make any big investments in it, it was taken to Colors. Colors have made major changes in the script and the shooting will start early next month.

A source informs, "Yes, Colors have renamed Badi Malkin to Visarjan. Zee had given the earlier title and Colors was not very happy with it. The channel has demanded many changes in the script."
The story is about a poor young village girl who gets married to a rich man. The marriage is not out of choice but to protect the girl's dignity.

The source adds, "The star cast is almost finalized and the names will be out soon. The initial shooting will happen in Jaipur."

We texted Tony Singh but he didn't revert.
