Also FL and ML changing roles is a delicate subject which requires for you to move away from your perceptions and watch it with a completely neutral point of view.

Indian TV is not prepared for themes like Prithvi Vallabh. They couldnt digest POW-Bandhi Yudh ke which was really another amazing show I came across.

Digital or movie is better for such themes. Even Bahubali would have been a flop if it has been made into a TV series.

Our dear audience could never digest Shivgami or Devasena who had strong decision making powers.

Even I didn't understand him fully earlier
He was like a mystery to meπŸ˜†
Only after reading Mano's posts n Neet's posts I could understand him better.

Last 2 weeks I rewatched the whole show. Now I understand him perfectly. It's not Gajkesari but Prithvi himself is the mystery element of the showπŸ˜†

His character has been more interesting since he entered Manyakhet. It was a risky mission
But then he was always a risk taker n suicidal as well. Even during the Ghohil fight he promised to give 1000 woman to Gohil if he dies in the dual πŸ˜†

Sply since this murti making fiasco n kissing thing, we can actually see that he's bringing out Mrinal's n Manyakhet's hypocrisy out.
Mrinal had dreamt of that PriNal posture whose statue he made, she had dreamt that Prithvi will kiss her, which he did n brought out in publicπŸ˜†
He looks like a crazy lover but his main motive was always Malwa n his father's last wish. It looks like he's tolerating pain n all but in reality he's provoking her n bringing out her worst side even more. Now Raj Vaid n Sulochana love Prithvi more than Mrinal. No matter how much she projects him as criminal, ppl sympathize with him onlyπŸ˜†
I won't say it's intentional, his motive is to bring Mrinal closer to love n life n friendship between two kingdoms, but Varah Dev I think himself has chosen him to break Mrinal's hypocrisy by his actions. Now when it's revealed that he's Gajkesari, it's clearer.

N storytelling is actually complex. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
We all know that the kiss was a mutual concent by both PriNal
But the dialogues by various characters are as if Prithvi is some rapist n Mrinal is wronged by him n society will blame woman only etc n she has a right to punish himπŸ˜•... n Mrinal walks out with so much sympathy, but the actual rapist Satyashrey is free n noone cares abt the actual victim VilasπŸ˜•πŸ˜†
Yet as viewers we are hating Mrinal though dialogues are like we should sympathize with her πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
Let's see how Mrinal's rule of hypocrisy ends. Of course Prithvi is doing it already even if he's sitting in the prison, she lost n he won πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

bbut if it would have been on digital nd promoted well it would have done better .. PV has gud online following for a weekend historical show ..

Though i had no prb with sony airing it on weekend.. but channel played they dirty game .. Keep calling Sony Original but never respected the show .. from the beging itself show was ignored by channel .. Cancelled epis without informing viewers .. changed timeslot without promoting it .. nd why do they still promoting 9.30 n SNS that too after fans complained abt it nd last week toh Ashika even quoted thm

Who does this to their own product .. ?

ND yeah its easy to blame script execution .. But i would lyk to knw wat do they have in Top TRP show .. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Plus we knw hw many gud shows were ruined for TRP .. so whom will we blame for those shows .. again script ?? execution ?? great πŸ‘πŸ˜†

Anyway I m glad we got PV.. every shows has it own flaw .. so does PV has but it has only very few here nd there ... but as an show I enjoyed it nd I think thats why they make shows... to entertain ppl πŸ˜†

Thushu every show has flaws n so does PV
But it's still one of the best show in TV

N one of Ashu's best shows as well πŸ˜‰πŸ˜³
Atleast I have been satisfied with almost everything in the show πŸ˜ƒ

Time slot was always an issue..had mentioned it earlier as well that PV should have been a daily
Plus these days so many are fixated only in watching romance of leads..those who watched the show only for that would have been disappointed...coz this show was so much more than that...like the maker said..this was not a love story but story about love...I love the fact that there side characters were not statues but had meaty roles.

Also I think people enjoy those shows more that are fun..light hearted..romantic etc...shows with heavy subjects that are presented in a realistic and non dramatic masala manner often don't garner high TRPs despite being high on content and quality...P.o.w. is a classic example

Complex yes I guess it would have been tough for many to relate to the characters...Mrinal is a complex character plus a female lead that not many will digest...same goes for PV..these characters are not run off the mill cliche characters that tv viewers are habitual of watching

But I do feel time slot was a major reason why the show didn't work...Sony should have tried to change the slot and make it a daily

Anyway now the water has flown over the bridge

Over all PV was a good attempt by the makers to showcase something new...It is one of the good quality shows

The hype for the show was great & I don't think Sony's marketing team did bad either at the start. There was constant buzz around the show as well.
My main issue with the show was its inconsistent screenplay. When the show started some of the episodes were damn boring for even non-TRP viewers to watch, some of the dialogues were cringeworthy to be honest. Usually for the first 10-20 episodes it was like one episode was good, other fizzled out. When its an short series, story has to be crisp & strong, along with the screenplay. I recall in the one of weeks both the episodes tested my patience. Usually the start episodes are the ones where you gain your audience & hope to retain them, if possible add some more but I know quite a few friends who stopped watching with in the 1st 20 episodes & none of them were those who are big fans of romantic shows either, so it didn't matter for them if the show had romance or not, they came for the story & hopefully stronger screenplay but they left as they found the episodes too boring to watch on an weekend. The genre the show started was History -> War -> Romance -> Drama.

Lemme be frank, I'm an blunt critic, I don't hesitate to find faults in English shows either. I've done to quite a few. When I'd reported few issues on GoT to the writers, they admitted their mistake in twitter & hoped to not repeat it in the future episodes. But when I reported issues in the earlier episodes of PV to the writer's team, on how weak the screenplay was, they didn't even care to reply. They could've covered up their mistakes with re-dubbing or while editing but they didn't. Until the day show makers are ready to act on the feedback of the consumers, you can't expect genres different from the TRP audience to fare well.

Very sad about this, Prithvi Vallabh is a show that really captivated me from the start like few others. Great performance by the actors and actresses, especially Ashish and Sonarika. Fascinating story, wonderful scenes/settings and beautiful songs. How sad that such a unique and amazing show comes to an end prematurely. Would have loved to see the continuation of the story. I was already sad when Prem Ya Paheli Chandrakanta and Aarambh ended early and now Prithvi Vallabh. I felt immersed into the world of this show and hoped it would run for a long time.

Right Anshvi
They could have tried giving a weekday slot
Anyway what's done is done
They sure didn't treat PV like their own project
