I had marked this post, but didnt get time to reply to it. We need to understand one thing about Indian culture. It is true not just in corporate, but in politics, movies and even in homes. That old thoughts refuse to make way for the young. We dont mind killing our abhimanyu's so that Drona's, karna's, duryodhanas and the system propogated by them thrives.
It's a classical chakravyuha where any new concept gets killed unless you have someone on the other side equally powerful. If you look Malayalam cinema went through such a patch in late 90's and through 2000 when the so called super starts didnt allow any new actor to come forward. Movies were simply bland and over the top. Even now for many new actors it is a challenge though some people like Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vineeth Srinivasan is giving oppourtunity. That's because they have fathers who belong to the industry and they cannot be pushed as such.Bollywood because heavyweights like Aamir, Akshay etc are putting the weight behind themes that matter to them and have connections and their own fan following who will come to watch movies novel themes get accepted. So here if you need to thrive first and the foremost you need to have some heavy weights who cannot be short changed easily. Most importantly we need a transparant TRP system. Currently it is far too opaque for any bigwig to tamper it.
