Actually it's following true history only with creative liberties obviously

Historical fiction as a genre means keeping the names and core story same but also adding fictional elements for creative liberty.

In fact in terms of his wives, it's closest to history because Nand Nandini and Durdhara were different women but the narrative changed due to 2011 Imagine show which was a historical fiction but alas people think it as true history.

I hope you will enjoy it, core characters will not be tempered with 😁

Part XXVI

Durdhara came to her really angry, she was very scared of Nandini's curse. She thought, I am very worried for Chandra. Suddenly chaya came from behind, Durdhara for shocked. Chaya said my pyari bhabhi what were you thinking? Durdhara said sssshh..I am not your bhabhi yet and Chandra is not willing to marry yet, he has his own goals which he never tells about. Also we will now stay with Acharya and Chandra. We won't go back to home. Chaya got shocked, but what about Mura Maa? Durdhara said She will be fine, Nandini is angry right now but I am sure she won't harm Mura Maa. Chaya sighed, but Durdhara, what will be our future here? Chandra is not willing to marry yet, Nandini is furious, in all this I..... suddenly chaos started in the Palace, everyone was running here and there... Durdhara and Chaya came outside, they met Chandragupta, Swarna and Akshay, Nandini also heard the commotion and came outside.

Chandra smirked in silence, Swarna asked a servant what happened? The servant said, someone stabbed Ambhiraj....and he died. They all shouted What? except Chandra, he didn't seem bugged even a little.

Pauravraj, Malayketu and Dhan Nanda all were in main palace, Malayketu was in chains. Dhan Nanda was shocked. He said Pauravraj, why did you have Malayketu in chains? He replied because he killed Ambhiraj, Kalyani was inconsolable in her room.

Malayketu shouted I did not kill Ambhiraj, I would I make my own sister a widow. Father , you are mistaken. Pauravraj shouted I am not your father in this sabha, I am an impartial king here. Eudemus and Philipus were watching it for their own amusement. Pauravraj said, this ring, this ring is found near his body and it's your Malay. Malayketu remembered this ring? He remembered that previous day he gave this ring to one of his ganikas who was sent to Dhan Nanda when he first arrived. Malayketu in anger shouted, Maharaj this ring was mine but I gave it to one of my ganikas as a gift. I sent her to Maharaj DhanNanda the day he arrived here. Dhan Nanda got up angrily, how dare you? You are saying I ordered to murder him. Malayketu angrily replied I know that Ganika really well, she can do anything for money and your name is Dhan itself. Dhan Nanda you rascal, how indecent and childish you are, you are a worthless prince, what was I thinking, I shouldn't ever had consider you as my son in law.

Malayketu smirked don't lie maharaj, you offered me Nandini because you wanted Suhasini. Everyone in the court got shocked. Suhasini was a noblewoman but below your stature as legit wife, so you decided to trick her into giving her consent and willingly make her your concubine. Pauravraj was terribly shocked, he thought is he really my son? How could he do such a shameless act? Tears came in his eyes, Chanakya and Indradutt were watching all this from hiding.

Dhan Nanda said enough, he threw gold coins at Malayketu, here it's enough for you to be pardoned from the charges. But I will never marry Nandini to you. I am taking my family and Suhasini back to Magadha and he left in anger but before leaving he said, don't forget your kingdom is awfully small compared to my kingdom.....it was a threat to Malayketu....Dhan Nanda left

Later

Shaktar met Chandragupta, Chanakya and Indradutt. He bowed to Acharya, Acharya thank you for my revenge. I killed Ambhiraj because he was a traitor and I knew he secretly used to beat and illtreat Devi Kalyani, he got what he deserve, now the secret and conspiracy was now in open, DhanNanda will be forced to make Suhasini his wife and save her honour. Though she left but I am now calm that atleast her honour got restored.

Chanakya said Shaktar Ambhi was a horrible man, he left Taxila open for Aliksundara. He got what he deserved but now the alliance between Malay and Nanda will not happen and it will open the door for Taxila and Pauravas alliance.

Indradutt said but now what Chanakya? Who will rule Taxila? Chanakya said Chandragupta..... Chandragupta said but Acharya, Philipus is Satrap of whole Gandhara. Technically he needs to be eliminated before I am declared a king. Acharya smirked.....

Historical Fiction is set in a real place, during a culturally recognizable time. The details and the action in the story can be a mix of actual events and ones from the author's imagination as they fill in the gaps. Characters can be pure fiction or based on real people.

Part XXVII

Few days later.......Durdhara, Chaya had started living with Swarna. Chandragupta was absolutely thrilled to have them with him in Taxila. Nandini came back to her home with now her new step mother Suhasini.

Nandini in her room was happy that her engagement with Malayketu broke but still sad Chandra didn't accepted her love. This time she boxed up her necklace instead of wearing it all the time. Nandini thought what should I do now? Should I get married? But my heart aches everytime I think of this. My heart doesn't seem to accept anyone except Chandra. Why did I curse him so much? By cursing him I threw him in arms of a woman who probably doesn't exist in this world. How stupid of me. I can't see him with Durdhara, how could I ever bear to see him intoxicated and hopelessly in love with another woman. I guess I wanted to see him go through the same pain which I am going through. Chandra it's not easy to see someone whom your whole body and heart craves for with someone else. Whenever you will see her with someone else your brain would stop working and your eyes will be filled with rage like mine whenever I see you with Durdhara. I want you to go through this pain. Go through this pain and learn what lusting someone, being in love with someone actually means.

4 year old Helena was crying and was sick. Few days ago on advice of her doctor and oracle she had left for Taxila but the journey was long. Helena ate food only a little and mostly either cried or stayed silent or slept. Apama was very worried, what is bothering my poor baby? Oh Zeus , please help our family. This is the first time I have gone outside without permission of Seleucus. He would be furious but he won't return for few years. I even left Antiochus alone. He's crown prince. She kissed head of Helena who now was asleep in her arms. She said to her my beloved daughter, I had a great difficulty in birthing you, when you were born, thunderstorms were threatening the whole sky. Seemed like Zeus was really happy when you were born. Part XXVIII

Chanakya took Chandragupta and Akshay to a very far jungle in Taxila, there they met Simharan, mercenary whose while family was killed by soldiers of Alexander when he attacked Ashvatakas. He was a brave soldier in Mahadevi Kripa (Cleophis') army.

Simharan came forward and touched feet of Chanakya. He said Acharya I am so pleased to meet you again. They all sat together. Chanakya said Simharan these two are my students who recently got graduated, I intend to remove Satrap Philipus and Eudemus outside and make Chandragupta ruler of their regions. Simharan said Chandragupta, I have heard a lot about you even when you were studying. You were topper of the university and your skills as a warrior are praised in whole Vahik Pradesh. Chandragupta smiled humbly, he said Agraj, I don't want to be king just for the sake to be a king, I genuinely want to free people from Tyranny of aggressors and give them good governance. My humble request is with you to help me raise an army. Chanakya said don't worry about money, we will have money for your mercenary soldiers. We have got rid of Ambhiraj, now our next target is Satrap Philipus. Simharan angrily said I want to get rid of these aggressors as well Acharya. They mercilessly killed my people Ashvatakas, Mahadevi Kripa was humiliated. Don't worry Acharya, even if you aren't able to pay us, we will be able to collect money through our own methods, you just order is what to do. Chanakya smiled....

Swarna was practicing sword fighting and Durdhara and Chaya were admiring her. Durdhara said Bravo Swarna Bravo. Swarna smiled. Chaya clapped for her. Swarna sat beside them. Look this is how it's done. Durdhara just couldn't stop admiring her skills and beauty. She became a little sad. Swarna asked what happened Durdhara? But she remained silent with her head low. Swarna hinted chaya to leave and she left. Swarna said now she is gone, what is bothering you? Tell me. Durdhara said You and Nandini, both are so beautiful and so skilled, still Chandra is adamant that he will only marry me. Swarna laughed don't worry, when he will become a king , well that's what he hopes for, he will be surrounded by beautiful women who will willingly throw themselves on him, that day you will regret these words. Why do you want co wives so much? Do you like kalesh in home? Durdhara said it's not that, I am neither very beautiful nor talented in any warrior skill. How will I manage a kingdom as a queen if Chandra indeed becomes a queen. Swarna said Durdhara for being a good queen one doesn't need beauty or swordsmanship but a good heart , intelligence and grace. You have all those qualities. One day you will not only become a queen but Agramahishi (Empress Consort), mark my words. Durdhara said don't joke. Swarna smiled I know it will happen.

Durdhara hugged her, swarna hugged her back, Durdhara said Swarna promise me, if ever, anything happens to me, you will take care of Chandra. Swarna shocked, she said...ah....nothing will happen to you Durdhara, don't overthink, and suppose something does happen god forbid, I can only take care as his friend because one day I will get married too. So she cursed him but trust me Durdhara, all of this is myth. Nothing like this happens in real life. I was the only girl in the gurukul, Chandra passed his most testing age, no girl will be able to make him intoxicated with desires and love. Don't worry. Swarna said there will never be such a woman...... suddenly a thunderstorm happened they got scared.....Swarna said it's weird, it's still not rainy season, why these thunderstorms are happening....

Oracle watches these untimely thunderstorms...

Chandra, Swarn and others were eating food late in night. Chandra said amazing, you just make fantastic food Durdhara. She blushed and said you are exaggerating. Swarna said no Durdhara, he is not exaggerating, the food is just amazing. She was admiring them, she wanted to eat after everyone had eaten though they requested her join them. Swarna said you know Durdhara, what he used to do in University, Akshay and him would steal Shashank's food and then we would enjoy it and told him that his food was stolen by cat which used to stay with us. It was so funny. They all laughed. Chandra said it was all your idea. Swarna it wasn't, Chandra said no it was and they started arguing but funnily..... suddenly Durdhara realised how closed Chandra was to Swarna, though Akshay was laughing with them but her whole focus was on those two. She thought what this I am feeling? Is this jealousy? Why do I don't like them too close? Am I becoming like Nandini? No, I am not that petty or am I? I made great promises to leave Chandra for her but when the time came I couldn't do it. She suddenly ran away making everyone else shocked. Chandra was about to go after her but swarna said let me go, you haven't eaten your good yet. Let me ask her what happened. He nodded. Swarna went after her. Durdhara was crying and feeling sad. Swarna asked Durdhara, What happened? Why you suddenly ran like this? Did something happen? She wiped her tears and asked what happened? Why are you crying? Is there something wrong? Can I help? Durdhara said no, nothing happened, I was missing my family, Mura Maa and others. Swarna laughed, oh come on, you are so lucky the lady who took care of you since childhood is gonna be your mother in law as well. Why are you sad? And here we are your family, Chandra is your family. Durdhara smiled, I know but.....I....nothing, maybe I overacted, I am sorry. Swarna hugged her ......friends don't say sorry to each other....lets go.....

Next day

Nandini was getting ready when her mother entered

She said Nandini I want to talk to you. Nandini replied Yes mother....She said Ekant to Daasis, she made Nandini sit , dear I am greatly saddened your engagement broke, you must be feeling devastated, she replied no mother, in fact I am relieved, I never wanted to marry Malayketu. Her mother said.....soon we will find a great groom for you who will give you every happiness in the world. Nandini sadly smiled and hugged her mother. She thought maybe it's time to move on, I don't think I would be able to hold my marriage any longer and Chandra has rejected my love. I have no hopes left. A tear dropped from her eye.

Chanakya, Swarna, Chandra and Akshay were in a secret room.

Chankaya said our next target is Eudemus. He killed Pauravraj's brother and his son escaped. Eudemus is Satrap of that region since then. We must act now. Akshay said but how Acharya? He said Ambhiraj is dead, Eudemus will try to attack Taxila, Chandra with help of Singharan will make an army. Citizens are with us already. As soon as Eudemus will attack, we will counter attack him through secret warfare meanwhile Pauravraj would want Taxila as well and for you to be a king, you need Pauravraj's approval. Chandra said but Acharya why would pauravraj tolerate me as a king? Would he want to install Malayketu or Kalyani as regent here. Chanakya I know Chandra, that's why we will also create rift between Malay and Eudemus...he smirked... everyone confused as how it will help Chandra in becoming King of Taxila.....

Durdhara was in her own thoughts thinking about Swarna and Chandra, she thought does Chandra like Swarna? But if I ask directly he will blatantly say no, he even tells strangers that he loves me only, but does he? Does he have feelings for Swarna? I must check it. But how? Yeah I know...........But if he does like her what will I do? I now know I am not mahan or brave enough to leave him. My feelings always make me weak. I think I am now understanding Nandini way better than I did.....she must have felt devastated everytime Chandra was with me. But her cursing Chandragupta was very childish of her. The curse she did was pretty stupid, she smiled.....I was definitely being too scared of that curse....... suddenly a thunder was heard by her...... Durdhara got scared.... whenever I think if a curse suddenly it starts raining, what is it?

Durdhara went to market with chaya

There she heard two people talking, one said hey did you hear about Rishi Dandayan? It's said he can predict future and even tell if curses will have an effect in future or not. Durdhara got shocked hearing it...she asked that person, Arya, who is Rishi Dandayan? He said Rishi Dandayan lives not too far from here, he's a sanyasi but it's said he can tell what's gonna happen in future and also tells how curses on gonna effect one's life. Durdhara got excited, she took address of the Rishi and left to meet him with Chaya.
