Part 127

Chandragupta and Durdhara reached Saurashtra. They were welcomed by Pushya and Chaya. Pushya told all about the situation to Chandra and they left for their tour leaving Durdhara and Chaya alone. Chaya said, what I am hearing about new queen of Chandra? Is she really very beautiful? Durdhara said, I don't want to talke about her. Chaya said, someone's jealous. Durdhara said, chaya I wish you never have to suffer the pain. Chaya said, forget about me but really tell me, how is she like? Durdhara said, ask your brother. He can talk about her for hours. Chaya laughed. She said, I am just teasing you Durdhara. Enjoy your stay here. Pushya and I are concerned about the situation but I am sure him and Chandra will have a good solution soon.

Next day Chandragupta and Pushyagupta went for their tour. Seeing the problem of irrigation and drought and the people suffering, Chandragupta was about to cry. He said to Pushya, Pushya my praja must not suffer. Prepare a Jheel which will greatly help my people and name it Sudarshan Jheel. Pushya said as you command my great Emperor. He said give grains to those who are suffering hunger, we well buy more for people but not a single person should suffer hunger. Pushya said, we are on it already my Emperor. And they talked for hours for how to relieve people from distress. Chandragupta's presence helped people and he was managed to tone down the situation massively. Everyone got happy. Meanwhile in between, Durdhara finally got Pregnant. Chandragupta was over the top. He made the grandest celebration in her honour. Chaya was extremely happy. She said, finally Durdhara, heir to the throne is coming. Durdhara was very happy. She touched her belly and said, my son, my life. The news reached Magadha and Acharya was relieved. He thanked God and prayed to keep Durdhara safe. He thought, Durdhara must stay safe as her belly carries the future Emperor of the dynasty. May god keep her happy and healthy. He had tears in his eyes. He remembered when Chandra was a small boy and he took him to Taxila. He said, my little boy is all grown up and I didn't even realise. Acharya never cried in front of anyone but this time he was overwhelmed. He said, Chandra , my son, I am so happy.

The news reached the queens and they had mixed reactions. Helena thought, Will Chandra become distant from me? She was concerned. Swarna was happy and she told Chandransh and Priyadarshini they will be having a sibling soon. They got happy. Nandini was still sad she wasn't able to carry a child yet. She thought, every queen has her own child but me...she was extremely sad.

Chandra was in his room with Durdhara in night and said, Durdhara I am the happiest man in this world right now. He kissed her belly. He said, our love will finally be fulfilled with our beautiful child. He asked, what will you name him? She said, how are you so sure it's a boy? He said, I am sure, my heart tells me my heir is in you. Tell me what do you wanna name him. She said, let me think, you are a lion and my son will be a lion so I will name him Simhasena. Chandra said, wonderful, my Simhasena and he kissed her belly. Durdhara said, in few months Helena will also give birth to her another child. He said, that's why I am double happy. I am so blessed Durdhara to have so many children. Durdhara said, yeah and so many wives. Chandragupta said, shut up. Durdhara laughed. Chandragupta said, my love I will train my Yuvraj to be a fantastic warrior who will slay his enemies. You must hear and read about our great ancient warriors. Durdhara said, calm down Chandra. Over happiness is not good either. Let's go slow..

Suddenly clouds started looking, Dandayan opened his eyes and saw the clouds...he said, don't do this, she is innocent......that pure soul must not be harmed....and he had tears in his eyes......he said in loud, No...........................

Part 128

Durdhara and Chandra came back to Magadha after 5 months. Helena had given birth to twins , one son and one daughter and the news made him very happy. Nandini and Swarna came to greet Chandra and Durdhara. Nandini had arti thali with her. She did arti of them said, Congratulations Durdhara. We all are waiting for the heir. Durdhara thanked her. Swarna gave her congratulations. But Chandra's eyes were finding Helena who was nowhere to be seen. He asked Swarna about her from his eyes and she rolled it making Chandra smile. He said, Durdhara go and take rest. I ..I have some important work. She said I know what important work you have. I will meet her later and congratulate her. He smiled and left to meet Helena. As he entered her room he saw she was sleeping with her son and their twins were in a crib under watch of her maids. He came to them and kissed them on forehead. He had tears in his eyes. He signalled the maids and they took children away. He came to Helena who was sleeping. He touched her face and then lips and said so beautiful....his touch woke her up and she saw Chandra. She said I am dreaming again. He smiled and said , you are not dreaming and she got shocked. She got up and bowed to him. He laughed. He pulled her towards him and gave a very passionate kiss which went for minutes. She broke it and lowered her eyes. He said, why didn't you come to greet me? I am offended. She said you didn't write me a single letter while I wrote you so many. He laughed and said I got the letters but didn't get any time for any reply besides all those letter were filled with talks of love. What reply I was supposed to give? She tied to get away from him but he had captured her in his arms. She said, love's answer is with love. He laughed again. He kissed her again and said thank you. I saw the twins, they are precious. She said, but you forgot about me. He poked her nose and said no I did not. She said yes you did otherwise you would have missed me. He laughed and gave her a gift. She said what is it? He said open it and ur was a really beautiful necklace made of original pearls. She said, wow, this is so amazing. Is it for me? He said yes and I have more gifts for you. She said really? He said yes and she hugged him. She said disappointingly, but you have brought such gifts for others as well? He said , ah yes but not as much as I brought for you. She smiled and hugged him. She said, I missed you so much. She said I heard the news about Chief Queen. I will congratulate her later. He smiled. He picked her up and put her on the bed. He was staring at her and said my precious rose. She smiled and said, my Emperor. They got lost in each other....he took her scent and said, ah...after so long...and they continued their snuggling......

Nandini and Swarna came to meet Durdhara and congratulated her again. Durdhara said, these months had been so wonderful for me. I was the happiest. Swarna said, you should have stayed there till the baby was born. You know Antahpura is always crowded and chaotic besides with Helena you might become stressed. She never leaves a single opportunity to rub her so called love on our faces. Durdhara laughed. She said, I have have learnt to ignore her. All she cares about talks of love. It's quite amusing to me now. Nandini said, forget about her and they starred talking about their trip and pleasant memories.

Acharya was contemplating about Chandra's protection from poison. After consulting some doctors he decided to put poison in his food so that his immunity could be built against poison. It was a risky matter but he decided to do it. Slowly and slowly Chandra's food was mixed with Poison and he did not even know it.

Part 129

Durdhara was 9 months pregnant and soon to deliver her child. A festival was going on and Chandra had planned a grand party. He mostly spent time with Durdhara as she needed his utmost care and attention besides doing his work. Helena had learnt to bear his absence as she could not do anything as Durdhara was chief queen and very close to Chandra, she learnt to endure it though she often got jealous. She spent time with Swarna and her kids and the two queens became really close friends while Nandini and Durdhara's friendship improved. They were in their room talking. He was rubbing her belly and said very soon our lion will be in this world. Durdhara was keeping her head on his shoulders and said, I am so happy Chandra I cannot even express it. It was lunch time and the food was served to them. Chandra's food was never mixed with others. They were eating... Chanakya got to know that Durdhara and Chandra were having lunch together. He got panicked and ran to their room...he thought, no....no way...I must warn them before any anarth happens..... Durdhara was eating food and Chandra admired her. He very affectionately took a part of his food and gave it to her, she ate it out of affection and suddenly their door opened..... Chanakya shouted, What have you done........

Part 130

Durdhara collapsed, her last word was Chandra.... Chandragupta got shocked...he shouted Durdhara...his scream was so loud it echoed in whole Antahpura.....Chanakya took his sword cut Durdhara's head.....he got more shocked.....he told his guards to take Chandragupta outside. He was so shocked he couldn't say anything. Chanakya cut belly of Durdhara and saved their son. Chandragupta was totally shocked. Nandini and Swarna came running. Nandini asked what happened. But Chandra couldn't say anything. Swarna said Chandra what happened. She shook him. But he was standing still saying nothing only staring at the door. Nandini asked a maid what happened. She was crying.....Nandini shouted what happened, tell me....she said with heavy heart, Mahadevi.....Mahadevi.... Nandini shouted stop this and tell me....She started crying and said, Agramahishi died.... Everyone got shocked.....Swarna put her hands on her mouth out of shock, Nandini fell on the ground, she started remembering their moments since Childhood....how they became friends....and everything which happened in their life till now...she started crying taking the name Durdhara.....she shouted Durdhara no, my friend. No...no one was there for me except you, why did you leave me.. Chandragupta couldn't respond, he was still in state of deep shock.....Swarna was in shock and asked her servant, how this happen? Servant said, apparently someone mixed poison in her food. Chanakya came outside of their room with the baby. He was crying and gave baby to Chandra but he was not in state to respond. Chanakya was crying and said to his guards, take Samrat away. Guards took him away to his room. Nandini got up and said Acharya, if she died then baby? He said, I cut her belly to save Bindusara. She said Bindusara? He said, poisoned blood made mark on his forehead. So I named him Bindusara. Nandini took the baby in her arms and kissed his forehead. She said, he's my son. He's my Friend's son. I will take care of him. She had tears in her eyes meanwhile Swarna tried to control chaos in Antahpura. The news reached Helena and she was also shocked. She tried to meet Chandra but was stopped. She was forced to go away. He allowed no one to meet him. Suddenly someone wanted to meet him. Guards said he doesn't want to meet anyone. She said let me meet him. I am ready for any punishment. She entered and put her hand on his shoulder. She said Chandra...he didn't respond, she again said Chandra...he saw her, she was Swarna...He said, she left me...Swarna was only crying ... He shouted, she left me.....He started crying.....Swarna hugged him .....he started crying in her arms....he said, why did she leave me....why.....he said, our friend left us Swarna..........he cried in her arms for like an hour and then fell asleep....... Nandini came to their room with Bindusara......when he got up he saw him...he was shocked.... Nandini said Acharya saved the baby...He came to see Bindusara and started crying....he said My Durdhara's nishani....my Yuvraj....My son....he took him from Nandini and kissed his forehead, he saw the mark on his forehead and asked what's that? Nandini said it's mark of Poisoned blood..... Chanda was shocked and he said Poison? His eyes became red with anger....

Part 131

Chandra took his sword and started walking, Swarna said where are you going Chandra? He said to kill her, Swarna said who? He said Helena. She said What? chandra stop it. Nandini was behind them. Chandra said, she killed her I am sure of that. Just let me go...Swarna said, Chandra you are being unreasonable. Stop it....he wasn't listening to her, Swarna in anger slapped him ....she shouted stop it you fool. Everyone in Antahpura became silent...they were too shocked. Chandra remembered Swarna did the same thing when he did such a thing in University when Akshay had stolen his food and he was running to fight him, she said the exact same words. She shouted, you claim to love her and don't trust her. Without any proof you have made this decision. She is mother of yourself children. I say I killed her, come on kill me, why don't you kill me, will you kill me without proof? What kind of emperor you are? He was silent...Nandini for the first time saw real personality of Swarna, like a warrior. She thought, she is such a great Agramahishi.....Acharya came and he heard he wanted to kill Helena. Acharya said, Chandra have your lost your mind? What the hell are you doing? He said, Acharya someone put poison in her food. Acharya took Chandra's sword and said if you want to kill someone kill me. Chandra got shocked, he said ki you Acharya? He said, Durdhara's food was not poisoned, your food was poisoned. Everyone got shocked listening to this and he said and I added that poison.....He was too shocked to say anything and so were everyone..He took Chandra to his room and he explained everything, he said Chandra, Durdhara and your's kundali said if she married you she wouldn't live long, guess niyati found a way. Chandra was absolutely shocked....he said Acharya if only you had told me. He said if I had you would get scared of food and might stop eating altogether. For your mental health I didn't tell you. He was in deep shock. Acharya said, Chandra we all are terribly sad for Durdhara but your heir is saved. Atleast for him calm yourself. Nandini is taking care of him but your love is very much needed and more than that your guidance, he's heir to the throne. Chandragupta said, I...I don't want to think anything Acharya except my work..... Acharya said but Chandra.....he left the room in anger.

The news that Chandra doubted Helena and wanted to kill her reached her ears and she was absolutely shocked and angry. She saw her children and said, this is what he thinks of me. He never loved me. All words were lies. She started crying....Helena thought I lost everything.........Chief Queen was the really one in his heart, with her gone my happiness also went away....my happiness depended on her existence......she was in deep sadness....she tried to end her life only to be stopped by her children's crying........she came to them and hugged them....she said I will live for you.

Nandini was offered to becomes Agramahishi but she made Swarna Agramahishi instead saying she is much suited to become Agramahishi..

Last Chapter

5 years later

Chandra had become workaholic, he never visited his any queen or even his children, not even Bindusara who was pining for his love. Acharya was very sad on his condition. He lost all contact with Antahpura. Helena mostly stayed either alone or with Swarna.

One day Swarna was sitting with Nandini and all the children. Helena was not there. All children were playing together. Chandransh had gone to Taxila to take higher education. Chandsri, Helena's twins and Bindusara were playing. Priyadarshini was sitting with them. Swarna said we must do something to bring our old Chandra back. He hasn't met us for 5 years. What is he trying to do? Work himself to death? Nandini said but what can we do? He doesn't let us meet him. Swarna said I have an idea but I will need Megasthenes and Acharya's help. Nandini said what? Swarna had an evil smirk. She said, Chandra needs to be reminded of passion and love and only Helena can bring him back. Nandini said How? Swarna laughed he he he....Nandini said, Swarna your real personality is too much fun. Your sacrificial queen era is over. You seem like University's Swarna. She smirked. Swarna said, Berenice is back. Nandini smiled. Bindusara had made Nandini very happy. She had lost all her anger and sadness and become a mother to him.

Later that day Acharya took Chandra to garden talking with him. Meanwhile Helena was also walking in that ground when Megasthenes suddenly arrived there. She said Princess how are you? Helena was surprised, she said I am fine. Megasthenes said, should we take a walk, its such a pleasant day. Helena said sure, why not. She thought, it's not like Chandra is gonna come here..and even if he does he wouldn't care. Megasthenes and Helen were walking. Suddenly Acharya left Chandra making him confused. He saw Helena with Megasthenes and got confused and jealous. He thought, what the hell is he doing with her and why is she allowing it? Megasthenes took Helena's hand and was about to kiss it and when suddenly someone grabbed his hand. Helena got shocked....he said, you must know how to behave with my queen. If anyone else had done this I would have cut his hands off. Megasthenes said forgive me Sire and left. Helena was angry and was walking away when he grabbed her hand. He said, why didn't you stop him? She said why should I? It's our custom. He said, you know i don't like it. She said oh yeah, so what do you like? Killing me with a sword? You can gladly do that, I don't care. Chandra grabbed her neck and said....don't do that ever again, you know i hate any man around you. She had tears in her eyes and she said, you have ignored me all these years....he had tears in his eyes too and inhaled her scent...he said perhaps we needed this separation.....to get more close....she hugged him......he hugged her...he said I am sorry ......Helena kissed his ears...they started kissing each other....Chandra said in husky voice caressing her chin, he said only god knows how much I missed you but didn't have guts to face you. She put her fingers on his lips, she said we have a lot to catch up, it's been five years and she pulled him closer and they started kissing passionately......

Acharya , Nandini,Swarna and Megasthenes turned away and started walking awkwardly. Megasthenes said, well I was happy to help even though it could have cost my life and he quickly went away. Acharya said, Swarna this is the first and last time I involved myself in your silly plan just for Chandra. Never do this again or I might take sanyas...Swarna smiled and he also left... Nandini said, Bindusara would be waiting for me and she left too....Swarna turned back and saw Chandra and Helena were still in each other arms....she took a long breath and said, welcome back Chandra.....she looked at the sky and said, don't worry Durdhara, me and Nandini will take care of your loved ones...she gave a flying kiss to the sky......

After one year Chandra , Swarna , Akshay and Shashank visited Taxila University with their families, their wives and children.

Helena was again with a child and she liked Taxila, Bindusara and Nandini were also liking it very much. Nandini said to Helena, Chandra will end up producing an army with you hinting at her belly. Helena laughed....their children went to the university and met the teachers. Chandransh was doing very well as a student there. Bindusara wished to study there and so did Helena's children. They all were in playground playing. Priyadarshini and Helena's daughter became best of sisters and loved to talk about jewelleries and all the girly stuff. Priyadarshini caught fancy of Akshay's son.

Chandra, Swarna, Akshay and Shashank were remembering their days at the university. They saw the tables they used to sit on, the garden in which they played...the library....they all sat together under a tree like they used to..... Swarna said, well gang we are back......Akshay said, let's steal Shashank's food today.. Shashank said don't you dare.... and they started arguing like when they were young, they became their old selves forgetting all that happened in these years.... Pradhanacharya and Acharya Chanakya were seeing this from far away and smiled and said, welcome back kids......They saw young Chandra, Akshay, Swarna and Shashank arguing and playing and got tears in their eyes..... Pradhanacharya said, our best Batch.....Acharya Chanakya said, indeed Arya, our Best Batch...
