Part 68

Durdhara and Swarna were in a room, Swarna had Priyadarshini in her arms while Chandransh was sleeping beside her. Durdhara was singing a lullaby to sleeping Chandransh. Swarna was admiring them. Swarna said, one day you will become a great mother Durdhara. You are so nice with children. Durdhara smiled. Swarna further said, and your son will succeed his father and become a great King like him. Durdhara smiled and said, you are thinking too far in the future. Seems like you already want a co- wife. Aren't you annoyed at this? Swarna said, I had prepared myself for this for a long time. Chandra loves you and he had always wanted to marry you. He saw no one except you. Durdhara remembered Nandini's curse, she said, but in the end that curse will separate me from him and he will desire another woman. Swarna said, oh god Durdhara just stop fretting about that curse, where love is pure, even a curse can not remove it. Chandra will always love you. No one can separate you two. Durdhara smiled and touched her hand, she said, Chandra is so blessed that you are his friend and wife. Even in this situation you are being so strong, I know your heart doesn't want to accept he loves me. Swarna says, you are wrong Durdhara, my heart knows it and I am well prepared to see you two get married. Durdhara says, no woman in this world can be as sacrificing as you. Suddenly chaya came running, she said Durdhara, Bhabhi, really good news, Bhaiya has returned to Taxila. They both were happily shocked. They looked at each other and smiled joyfully. Durdhara ran to the home's temple and thanked gods for saving Chandra and Acharya. The same news reached Nand's palace that they had escaped....Dhan Nanda shouted, how could this happen? How they managed to escape? Everyone was frightened. Nandini was also there and she was both happy and sad. She was happy that Chandra was saved but sad that now he probably again want to attack and this time he would definitely get killed. Dhan Nanda said, we need to revamp our strategies. The same conversation Acharya was doing with Chandra in Taxila. Chandra said, Acharya what next? Acharya said, I have arranged a secret meeting with Malayketu and now we will work on our strategy to take outer regions and than attack Nand again. Malayketu will be our key ally in all this. Chandra did not like Malayketu but he understood they needed to keep Nand and Malayketu separated. Chandra asked, but Acharya what if Malayketu sides with Dhan Nanda? Chanakya says, I will make sure it won't happen.

In Babylon....

Helena was outing with her friends and siblings. One girl said, Princess your beauty is becoming talk of the town. Everyone talks of how beautiful you are getting with each passing day. Helena gave a proud look to her friend. She further said, I bet you will get a Gorgeous prince as your husband in future. Helena glared at her and said, not just a prince but an Emperor. I will be his favourite queen. Antiochus laughed, and said, you are delusional Hales, and beautiful ha ha ha ha....her friend says, she is your sister prince that's why you don't know, many have already started wanting her...she is so beautiful.... Antiochus Said, she wants to marry an Emperor but I doubt her even marrying a prince. She punches Antiochus, she said, you will one day thank me, he said for what? She said, for loving our family too much. Antiochus confused. Helena looked at a rose and said, everyone says I am a fragrant rose of this desert. One day someone will love me and admire me like they desire a rose...and she smelled it....

Chandra in his room shouted on his servant, he said who kept roses in my room? Servant was scared, she said forgive me sire. He said, don't you know I dislike smell of roses. Throw these out ....servant quickly threw roses away....he said, don't repeat that same mistake again.

Nandini will make her way to Taxila while the attack is underway. Will she succeed in getting there?

Nandini has convinced her father to go as a messenger to warn Chandra. But that is only part of her plan.

Seleucus thinks very lowly of people he does not know of. Very judgemental of him. His wife is wiser.

Part 69

Nandini was really happy that Chandragupta was alive. She ran to her room and saw her necklace which Chandra gave her. She said to it, you are alive, I am so happy. But please now don't attack us again Chandra, I cannot bear to see you dead. My heart aches everytime I remember our moments and you rejecting me everytime. I have been delaying my marriage just so in shattered hope that one day you will love me. I know I am delusional but my heart keeps me in false hopes. What should I do? She looked up at moon. Why am I like this? I will never understand. She started crying. Suhasini entered with her daughter. Nandini says annoyingly, what the hell do you want? Suhasini said, this little one was crying, I thought you might be able to stop her. Nandini took her sister in her arms and she immediately stopped. Suhasini smilingly said you will be a terrific mother in future. But Nandini annoyingly said, you are spending too much time with me nowadays, what happened? Has father become bored of you? Suhasini wanted to slap her but she calmed her anger and said just to annoy Nandini, not yet my princess, in fact the King is even more in love with me than before since this little one came in his life. Seems like he is loving me more than ever. Nandini said, I hope you are not here to tell me these weird things about my father. Leave her to me and you go to your room. Suhasini got up and said, Nandini if you don't change your attitude you will only suffer in this world. Don't forget I have status of your step mother. Nandini smirked and said, there are thousands of like you here, but Agramahishi is my mother, remember that. Suhasini annoyingly left. Nandini annoyed but was soothed by presence of her sister. She said to her, babies are the only pure thing in this world and she kissed her forehead. Suhasini was going to her room when a servant came and said, my lady, the king wants to see you. Suhasini thought I wish he would get bored of me.....but alas.....and she left to meet the king....

In night Chandra was having difficulty sleeping thinking about his meeting with Malayketu and side by side he wanted to meet his family. But he kept his cool and thought it was better for their safety that they remained hidden till the matters were settled for good........

After few days Malayketu met them....

In a secret room....

Chanakya - so do you accept it?

Malayketu said, it's a huge risk Acharya. You guys already lost to him and barely succeeded in saving your lives.

Acharya said, Malayketu, Nandini is already engaged to Bhadrshal, but if you help us, we will make sure Nandini must marry you. Chandra was shocked and uneasy at this, he didn't want Nandini to be dealt like that, no matter what she was a woman and his former friend, he didn't like it all. Malayketu blushed at the name of Nandini and Chandra felt weird, he thought, what a loser. Malayketu said, not jus Nandini acharya, I want elephants and a part of the treasure. Acharya says done, just help us, if you help us, Laghu Paurav will help us. After more negotiations, Malayketu agreed to give his support to Chandra.

Later in night Chandra was furious, he said Acharya you shouldn't have involved Nandini into this, she's a woman, if we do these things what's difference between us and Dhan Nanda. Chanakya says, you will very soon know what's the difference. Chandra, Malayketu wouldn't be convinced otherwise. It pains me too but trust me, I will not harm any innocent and certainly not innocent Nandini. Chandra says, she is not too innocent, she always prefers her father and defends him. And he says and it annoys you? Chandra annoyingly says, definitely not Acharya, why would I think about her? I have my own family to think and care about. He smiled. He thought, Chandra Nandini will be an important part of your life whether you like it or not. But Chandra was only worried for Swarna. He longed to meet her again and thank her for her sacrifices, side by side he wanted to meet Durdhara and thank her also for being so kind and generous towards him and forgiving him and Swarna.

Durdhara was alone in her room and watching the full moon. She thought, it's been so long since I saw you Chandra. When will be we meet again? She remembered his visits and eye contacts between him and Swarna and she suddenly started crying, she said to herself, it's not easy, it's not easy to accept all this. I have made my heart of stone but how can I bear this pain. Suddenly thunderstorms started happening again, she thought, what nature wants to tell me.....she closed her eyes and saw Chandra......she thought, I might show myself a strong person in front of everyone but I cry alone.....who in this world can accept this...... everyone thinks I will be Empress Consort of Chandra but doesn't an Empress Consort have a heart? She started crying more.......she said, no I must not, I promised myself I will take care of everyone whom Chandra loves....and she wiped her tears....Swarna had the same situation going on in her room, she saw her two children sleeping and remembering her days when she used to study with them. She thought, such simpler days. Never I imagined from a princess I would become a wife who can't even tell her husband's name to people. She kissed her sleeping son and daughter and thought, these kids are weapons, my soldiers who will serve my king. Why am I too attached with this life? Guess my feminine desire to be have a normal life sometimes overtakes my judgement. She smiled in pity. She makes herself strong and thought, I chose this life and I cannot go back.

Both women were ready to for their roles but their hearts still wanted to go back to normal life which they missed.

Part 70

Malayketu, Laghu Paurav, Chandragupta and some other kings formed an alliance. Due to this crisis now the marriage of Bhadrashal and Nandini was on permanent hold much for the relief of Nandini but she was now greatly distress. Armies were prepared from both sides. Suhasini and Nandini's mothers overcame their differences to support their king. Suhasini had developed kind of Stockholm Syndrome due to extensive attentions of Dhan Nanda. He might had tricked her in surrendering herself but he always showed her love, generosity and kindness hinting he might have cared for her which made her heart a little soft though she still abhorred him. Suhasini left her grudges and genuinely wanted to defend her king and father of her child. This also made Nandini a little soft towards Suhasini. The family was United against the alliance. On the other side Chandra's family went into more secret hiding. His uncle had settled himself in Bactria as a successful trader there. Swarna was concerned about her children and therefore her secret hiding was known only by Mura not even Durdhara and Chaya as Durdhara was after all her rival and chaya was very young to understand nuances of the situation.

Two years passed and after few gains and losses the alliance was successful in capturing the outer lands of Nandas making him nervous. In between Suhashini had given birth to a son now. Nandini was now more concerned. Sukesh and Dhan Nanda were ready to handle any attack. Bhadrshal was ready with his forces...

Nandini this time requested to join her father but he denied but she manipulated Bhadrshal and he invited her in battlefield...the armies were standing in front of each other, Nandini was seeing Chandra with full of hatred in her eyes..she wanted him to back off but he didn't and this enraged her severely, she thought, this is it Chandra, you have insulted me and my love enough, now you will see my hatred, Chandra watching Bhadrshal and Nandini and mocked her through his actions enraging her further., Sukesh was leading the war............... Nanda was in his palace anxious of the war......AND THE WAR STARTED.........

Helena has the ring and it is inscribed with a moon. Oracle sees it as a sign.

When Helena threw the ring, he got hurt. So she must protect that ring always and keep it with her.

Part 71

Helena was having a nightmare, she was shouting no , no....don't hurt him...no.......and she woke up, her mother came to her when maids told her about this... She was so scared.... Seleucus had gone to Egypt to meet Ptolemy against Antigonus....

Apama hugged Helena and asked what happened dear? She was sweating, she said mother, I saw a lion approaching father, he was about to attack and kill him and I was begging that lion to not hurt him...Apama hugged her, she said oh dear you love your father so much. Don't be scared dear, we are clan of warriors, cowardice is not in our blood. Helena still wrapped around Apama said but Mother I cannot bear to see father hurt even a little bit, I love him too much. Apama smiled and kissed her forehead, dear what will happen when you will marry? You will have to leave your father then. Helena said then I will not marry and Apama laughed even more and said, dear every girl says that and suddenly she remembered her father and wiped her tears and said, Helena listen to me very carefully, one day a man will come and will take you away from us. I can only pray that as oracle said he will madly love you and suddenly she remembered oracle saying Helena will marry in family of enemies and she thought, I just wish oracle is wrong and Helena will marry in family of friends not enemies. Helena said, what happened Mother? Apama said, dear sleep and don't be scared. Your father will not like seeing you scared. Helena said, if father doesn't like it I won't be scared. Apama said, that's my girl and she left. Helena still couldn't sleep and she was playing alone in her room, she saw her jewellery box and was trying her jewelleries, she saw that ring and put it in her finger, she said it's such a beautiful ring....she saw moon on it and said, this moon is so beautiful.....I will always keep it with me........and she put the ring back in her box..............but she still couldn't sleep so she came outside her room....and was walking alone....she stopped her maids from accompanying her.... She thought of disturbing oracle and mischievously went to her ... But oracle wasn't sleeping either... Helena said, oracle you aren't sleeping? Suddenly thunderstorms happened and she smiled, she said, my princess, look at these thunders so beautiful. Helena laughed, she said thunders are haunting not beautiful.....Oracle smiled and said what brings you here. She said, I had a terrible nightmare, I saw a lion wanted to kill my papa and I was begging him to not hurt him...Oracle laughed, she said oh my innocent princess you are too young to understand, Helena said, understand what? I can understand everything....Oracle said, my princess your beauty is Intoxication in itself, no one can escape from it, Helena annoyed, she said what my beauty has to do with my dream, why don't you answer in straight way. Oracle said, my princess, don't worry, this is story of lion and the lamb.... Most unusual....Helena was more annoyed, she said oh Zeus, I can never understand you... Oracle says, princess, your destiny is entangled with that lion....but Helena was too annoyed and she left.....Oracle says, don't worry my princess, that lion will do anything for you.......

Helena came out annoyed and she said I am so stupid to talk to her, she never says anything straight..... suddenly thunders intensified and she says , no Helena don't be scared, you are daughter of a warrior, don't be scared, Antiochus and Laodice will make fun of you.....and she started running to her room ......in between she said to herself, one day I will be the bravest princess anyone will have ever seen..........
