After few days

Chandragupta had came back to his palace and was very upset with what happened at Paursa. He met Acharya...he says, Chandra, we will now attack Magadha. Chandra says....but how Acharya? Their defenses are really strong....Laghu Paurav's army is busy beyond Taxila is suppressing rebellion in his region, Malayketu cannot be trusted. He might join hands with Dhan Nanda for his gains, he obviously still have fancy for Nandini as he always says he will take possession of her when Magadha will be ours. Nand can do anything and Nandini also loves her father, she might be ready to sacrifice herself for her father. Acharya says, I know but we will attack in heart of Magadha, that means Patliputra. We will tell Malayketu about this, after winning it, we will get rid of him as well. Chandra was shocked, he says, can we be successful in it Acharya? He says, we must get success..... Chandra was worried....He says. In your absence, Akshay will take care of Taxila. Chandra says, what if he betrays me? Power can corrupt anyone Acharya. He says, I know Chandra that's why Swarna and her Amatyas will keep an eye on him, that's why I didn't send Swarna too far from Taxila... Chandra really admired intelligence of Acharya.....

Nandini was furious with Chandragupta's name....she gave her sister to a maid and went to garden, she says, Chandragupta, Chandragupta, Chandragupta, whenever I try to move on his name comes in front of me....I want to forget him, why can't his name leave me alone....suddenly someone came from behind and hugged her...she was shocked, it was Bhadrashal, Nandini slapped him, she said, how dare you? I will tell father about this but he grabbed her hand, before doing that hear me my love, he smelled her, she got shocked...he said you father wants to win war against Chandragupta.....and I have got the news he wants to attack us....Nandini was shocked.....she said, what? He wants to attack us...Bhadrashal said, yes, and Maharaj has promised me if I win this war , he will give you to me...she was shocked...Nandini said, no way, he cannot do this... Bhadrashal says, when I will win this war, I will make you mine....He smelled her again and left....she was absolutely shocked.......she wasn't able to walk or speak.....and fainted.......Nayantara saw it and took her to her bed....Nandini when got up was still in shock.....she thanked Nayantara and told her to leave.... Nandini opened her box and took her necklace and said, I must meet you and stop you from doing this....I don't want you to get killed and give myself to that leech......she decided to go to Taxila........

She went to her mother, she said mother I want to go to Taxila. She said why? She said , mother it is very important for me, please let me go. If I don't go, a big tragedy will fall upon us all...her mother said, No Nandini I will not, she ran to her room and she was crying, suddenly Nayantara came to her and she said, what happened Nandini, Nandini said I want to go to Taxila but mother is not letting me... Nayantara grabbed an opportunity, she said I can help you but I want something in return..Nandini said , what do you want? She says , I want my freedom. Nandini without thinking said, I will give it you but I need to go....Nayantara hugged her. Nandini says, I am coming Chandra but this time not to beg you for love but to save you, myself and everyone.....

Part 57

Using Nayanthara's ideas, she called for a secret meeting with her father, Sukesh, Amatya Rakshasa, Bhadrshal..

Dhan Nanda- What is it Daughter?

Nandini said, father I want to go to Taxila as you official duta. If you want you can send Amatya Rakshas with me for my safety.

Everyone shocked...

Dhan Nanda said - But why? She said I know everything about danger on us and I want to warn Chandragupta. Nanda angrily said, who told you about this? Who told you to involve yourself in state matters? She confidentally said, Senapati told me. Bhadrashal got shocked......Nanda saw him with anger.....She further said, Father, I want to tell you something. She confessed all about her past with Chandragupta with honesty. Everyone was shocked to their core ....Nanda angry, he said, so much happened and you didn't tell anyone. She said, I didn't know he posed such danger father. Now, I want to go there to warn him because no one knows him more than anymore here. I also sent soldiers to capture lover and family but they have left Magadha already, this planning had happened for a long time and Acharya Chanakya, Nanda shocked, Chanakya? He remembered the day he insulted him.......Nandini said, yes father he is now Mahaamatya of Taxila, He said, but wasn't it someone named Vishnugupta? She said, that's his real name. Nanda angrily shouted, that sly one, he made conspiracies direct under our nose and we did not get any news of it...he looked angrily at Amatya who was disappointed.... Nandini says, father if I go as a duta he cannot capture or imprison me to pressurise you and if he does that , praja of Magadha will hate him so his plan will fail ...

Sukesh said, I should go too father.....Nanda angry, he says Nandini is more intelligent than you.....let her go....Vijayi Bhavah Putri....Nandini was filled with rage now...she thought, Chandra how could you do this to me after all what I did for you?

A person entered soon and he said, Maharaj , Rajkumari Nayantara has escaped.....he looked at Nandini and said, so this was her plan? She said, maybe father but forget Nayantara....our goal is much bigger now.....Sukesh was frustrated as he wanted to marry Nayantara......

In Babylon

Seleucus had returned with success in one of the battles of Diadochis and was really happy, Helena ran to meet her father with her sister Laodice and brother Antiochus. He was so happy to meet his family finally.. Apama greeted him with a bow and a hug.....

Seleucus - How are you my love?

She said- Filled with love for you as always....he smiled.....and told his servants to take kids away.....he kissed her passionately.....they sat together and discussed what happened in their absence.

Seleucus - So what I am hearing about this expedition to Taxila?

Apama now sad, she was a loyal wife and never lied to him and told him everything

Seleucus said- It was a great danger to be there, you shouldn't have left Antiochus alone like that. He's my heir.

Apama said- What about Helena? Isn't she your child too.

Seleucus said- She is buy she's a girl, what can she give me? An army of elephants and he laughed.........but I am glad she is okay, I love her and so happy she is doing so well....tell me about how is this....what is his name? Yeah ... Sandrocottus....

Apama laughed- Not Sandrocottus, it's Chandragupta, he's a wonderful man, so respectful, kind, hospitable, moralistic and generous..

Seleucus said- Hmm seems like a wise guy, I would marry one of my daughters to him if he wasn't a barbarian

Apama laughed- She said he is one of the most civilized men I ever met. He loves reading but I laugh at your thought of this..

Seleucus said- I was joking as well, I will never have matrimonial relationship with barbarians...Apama thought, if only you knew what a learned, well educated and well behaved he and his people are....

Part 58

Nandini and Amatya left for Taxila and sent messenger ahead that they were coming to Chandragupta.

In Babylon after some days

Helena and Antiochus were playing together when he grabbed her ring and started running. Helen said, Antiochus, give my ring back. He said I will not. She started chasing him, I said give my ring back ...... Antiochus was laughing teasing her , they didn't realise they came in Oracle's room and the ring fell from his hands and went to Oracle....

Oracle picked it up....she saw it and started laughing.........the kids were confused

Helena said- Oracle why are you laughing? She said, my princess I am laughing that you took this ring.....Helena said I took it? From where? Antiochus said, you fool you stole this ring. Helena said I am not a thief....he said , mother said you stole this ring from that king of Taxila... Helena punched it, she said it was an accident, I didn't mean to steal it....Oracle came forward and look into her eyes crazily, my princess you cannot escape, she started laughing again..Helena got scared....do you see what is on this ring? Helena scared and asked what? She said, see it yourself, she saw and there was a 🌙 inscribed on it with diamonds......Helena said, it's moon, so??? Oracle laughed, Antiochus said to Helena, why does she always laugh on every word? Helena laughed....Oracle serious.....she said to Helena, be careful princess, be very careful, once entangled you can't escape.... Helena said from where I cannot escape?......She grabbed her shoulders.........from imprisonment..... Helana shocked, imprison? Who wants to imprison me? Oracle looked up....she said Aphrodite..... Helena scared and ran away..... Antiochus got scared too and he too ran away........Helena came running to her room and locked herself up and ran in her blanket, she was scared..... Antiochus told Seleucus about this and he came...

Seleucus- Helena come out of the blanket....

Helena said- No

He said, come out of that blanket my child....and she slowly came out....

Seleucus said, what did oracle tell you? She said, oracle said someone will imprison me.... Seleucus said, she is lying I will punish her....he took her up in his arms, no one can imprison my daughter.....I will kill whosever imprison you.... Helena said, oracle said Aphrodite will imprison me... Seleucus got shocked and said.....sleep sweetheart....don't worry, I will even fight Aphrodite for you, after all I am son of Apollo...Helena smiled and hugged her father.... Seleucus was furious....

He went to meet Oracle...

He said, what is this oracle? Why are you scaring my children?

She laughed, Baseilus seems scared...he shouted Shut up, I am scared of no one.....she says, be very careful my king.....this child of yours will save you from death .... Seleucus shocked, he said Save me from death? How? Thunderstorms started happening, she says....Only Zeus knows and started laughing.....he was furious but it seemed futile to talk further and left....

Oracle- Seleucus.......you don't know what storms in your life will come....

Helena was looking at her ring, she said to the ring, you want to imprison me, I won't get imprisoned.........and she threw that ring away...and started reading her book but she was looking at that ring on the floor in between and after sometime she ran to take that ring, she said to it , I am sorry, I will not throw you again, you must be hurt........

Suddenly Chandra's hands got a cut while he was practicing sword fighting with his guard...she said, sorry Sire you must be hurt, chandra said, it's nothing...now....attack......

Suddenly a messenger came and said, a messenger from Magadha has arrived, he was confused and he told him to present him....messenger came and did pranam to him. He told him Nandini and Amatya were coming to meet him...he got shocked......

Part 59

Acharya , Chandra, Nandini and Amatya met each other. They were sitting in her room. When Nandini saw Chandra her heart started beating very fast, she stared at him but with sadness in the eyes. Acharya and Amatya realised it but Chandra was civil and ignored it. Nandini's emotions were overpowering her but she soon caught hold of herself.

Amatya- Chanakya you want to attack Magadha, it's fruitless,over defences are really powerful, you will loose.

Acharya- We want to attack you? Who told this lie to you?

Nandini smiled sarcastically - We know you won't say anything Acharya, but it's futile, I say do an alliance with us...and ...

Chandra interrupted - Oh... So you couldn't marry me so now you have come with this idea.... Nandini says I would have rebuked you but my civility as a duta stops me, I am not here to offer any matrimonial alliance though if it stops the war it can be an option....Chandra sarcastically smiled....

Acharya says, Rajkumari I think you have gotten wrong information.....I tell you and Amatya to enjoy our hospitality.....after an hour of negotiations nothing came out of it....Nandini was disheartened....it was almost night and everyone went to their rooms for sleep...

Nandini thought, my this mission seems like will fail and war seems a truth now...she was disheartened and she changed into her night clothes and opened her hair when suddenly a guard came and said, Rajkumari, the king wants to meet you, her heart started beating so fast, she said let him in....he entered, he saw Nandini in casual clothes and got uncomfortable, he said I did not know you sleep so early, I will talk later...she said, why are you so uncomfortable Chandra? It's not like my beauty attracts you so what's the point...tell me why you personally came here....he came inside and said, I came to ask why you really came here? I know you won't tell the truth in front of Acharya and Amatya. She said, you wanna know the truth. He said yes. She said, I came here to save myself. He said, Save yourself? She said, I know everything Chandra, my father has given offer to Bhadrashal that if he wins the war he will marry me to him and he's a bad man, he might be a good warrior but he isn't a good man. I don't want to marry him, I thought by stopping this war I might save two persons I love and also myself. He said, you still haven't moved on? She said with tears, I am trying but my heart always loses when I see you. Chandra was unmoved, he said I pity you Nandini. You shouldn't eye those people who belong to others...she came closer to him and said, you may belong to thousands, but my heart will always belong to you...she came really close to him....she was about to kiss him but he moved away his face....he said, you cannot honey trap me Nandini. No one can.....She laughed, she said if I could I would have done it a long ago. Tell me, you are a king and still haven't married anyone yet. How can this be possible? Don't you have concubines or perhaps a secret wife? He got shocked....she laughed, Chandra you forget I am princess as well, I am not a commoner like Durdhara......she again came close to him....when he was about to go she hugged from back....Chandra says, behave yourself Nandini, she started crying, she said, when I went from Magadha I was in deep anger but when I saw your face all my anger went away. She kissed his back..he felt a sensation but pushed her....he says, Nandini stop behaving like this, stop trying to honey trap me...you are my guest....I don't want to say harsh words to you.... Nandini says....I am not trying to honey trap you....I am just staying I love you despite what you want to do......Chandra says , you are hopeless.....why you are degrading yourself like this? She again pleaded, please stop this war....I beg you....I cannot see your death.....he says, who says I will die? She became angry and took her Katar and was put it on his neck...his guards came but he said Ekant....she won't kill me....guards say but....Chandra says Ekant.....they left....Nandini says How can you be so sure? Chandra says try it...but Chandra was right, she couldn't do it and threw it away..... Nandini says, you are very cruel....Chandra says....you haven't seen cruelty it seems........it started raining....she says look Chandra it's raining.............so how is Durdhara? Why aren't you married to her yet? Why being so cruel to her? Is this because of your secret love? He asks how you know that? She says oh so you do have a secret wife? I bet it's Swarna , right? He didn't say anything. Oh lucky Swarna, atleast she got you and had her wishes fulfilled.......he still didn't say anything...he said, imagine what you want, I am not obliged to tell you anything.....Nandini says, I have seen my father Chandra, he is a king, I know how kings are.... Chandra says, you are wrong Nandini, I don't pressure women to give their consent...... remember Suhasini.... Nandini now angry and says you can leave now... Chandra says, if pains me Nandini to see you like this...but don't worry, I won't let your life get destroyed by Bhadrashal....she sadly smiled, you are again giving me false hopes Chandra....he says, you are a woman and worthy of every respect......as a former friend I will help you when the time will come, that I promise....and he left the room and Nandini again started crying......

Part 60

Nandini and Amatya left without any gains and was seems now a reality for everyone.

After few months

Chandra'a troops were told to attack Magadha....after many preparations Chandragupta attacked Patliputra directly, the defenses were really strong..... Bhadrshal was leading Magadha's army. Shashank wasn't allowed by Amatya Rakshasa to battle place and that's why Shashank couldn't send secret messages to Acharya...the war was really devastating...Chandra was fighting very bravely but ultimately Magadha's forces were too strong..... Bhadrshal attacked Chandra with a spear and injured his elephant.....his elephant though saved him before dying by not collapsing directly, a loyal soldier gave him his horse and he escaped with Acharya while his army got crushed...... Chanakya and Chandragupta saved themselves by escaping but Nanda's forces were after them......they his themselves in a jungle....

Meanwhile in Paursa....Swarna's son was more than a year old now....they all were dining together....

Durdhara said, I don't what will happen in this war, I hope Chandra wins....Mura says, his father was a great warrior, I also hope he wins.......Swarna was scared but she kept herself..calm....suddenly she started feeling icky.......she ran to throw up..... Durdhara was confused....they never met her husband but for two or three times were visited by Chandra..... Durdhara from that night never tried to spy on Swarna as she was too scared to know the truth so everytime Chandra visited , Durdhara remained in her own room trying to convince herself his visits were normal...... Durdhara came to check on Swarna....she said Are you ok? She said I am ok ...it's just that I think too much about the war that I threw up... Durdhara said are you sure? Seems like you are....Swarna said what? She said , it seems like you might be with a child again....Swarna was shocked.....she said...ah..I am.sorry I ruined your dinner time...I..I must go and sleep...she ran to her room....Swarna shocked, she said...I...I am....she touched her belly....oh chandra what did you do.....how will l convince everyone now? If Acharya wanted us to be a secret than why did he send his entire family to live with me....now it's becoming really tough to hide everything from Durdhara....she is already highly suspicious of us.....

Chandra and Chanakya were in hiding...

Chandra said, what happened Acharya? We lost...he very angrily punched a tree.....and injured himself. Chandra said Calm youself Chandra.....look we might have lost,but we have not lost our will.....surely there was some mistake.... Chandra said what now Acharya? For how long we will stay alive....god forbid now if Nanda attacks Taxila and kills my entire family and my son , everything will go in vain... Chanakya says I know circumstances are not favourable but something will be good for us in all this ..be calm...if we don't stay calm, we will definitely get killed........

Part 61

Chandra was sleeping when suddenly a very scary lion came to him, he was very stressed and therefore long asleep....the lion liked his toes and his eyes woke up, he got shocked, that lion bowed and left. Chandra thought of it as some divine omen for him and he went to Acharya to tell him about this.....the soldiers of Nanda were still trying to find them..

In Magadha

Celebrations were going on win of Dhan Nanda...he said to everyone present...I am really happy today, not only aggressors were defeated but my daughter Nandini is gonna get officially engaged to Senapati Bhadrashal...Nandini was emotionless..she thought, I told you Chandra this will happen but you did listen, now I have no will to live....I am a living corpse now. She was taken by her mother to Bhadrshal who took her fingers and rubbed his fingers with her.. she wanted to slap him ...he put his ring in her finger and she was forced to do the same, she put it like that it would hurt him but he smiled ....everyone was enjoying this win of Dhan Nanda...while Nandini was extremely sad. Dhan Nanda said why are you sad my dear? She said no father Its nothing. He said, surely your fancy for that defeated man is now gone, right? Nandini said, yes father, nothing is more important for me than your protection.... he hugged her , He said, I am proud to have such a loyal daughter like you.....Nandini smiled but faintly....

In Paursa

Durdhara was really upset...she was cutting vegetables when Mura saw her stressed. She asked what happened? Durdhara said, nothing Maa, I think Swarna might be preg again. Mura didn't seem shocked. She said, I see .....Chandransh was with Chaya....Swarna was giving water to plants...when Mura came to her...She said, Swarna...she said, yes Maa...She said, are you with a child again? She said, yes Maa , she looked down in shame....Mura hugged her....She said, I am so happy I will have another grandchild...Swarna was shocked...she said, How? How did you know? She said, my son's visits, his love for Chandransh and the way he looked at you made it all out in open......I know you have married Chandra not any Priyadarshan because I know my son, he would never do such kind of things....I have been a queen once Swarna, don't be so shocked, I myself hid my royal identity just to save my son....Swarna was more shocked ,the day Durdhara accused you, after than whenever Chandra came I saw you two very closely, I knew when you guys were together....she was absolutely shocked...Swarna said if it's all out in open let me tell you we did Gandharva Vivah on orders of Acharya, he wanted to have secret wife for Chandra...Mura smiled...I don't know how it all happened but I am really happy that such a beautiful princess is my daughter in law...Swarna hugged her suddenly a sound came of a plate falling...it.was Durdhara, she heard everything....

Part 62

Durdhara heard everything and was in complete shock. She couldn't move for a second and than she ran away to her room. Mura and Swarna went after her. Durdhara locked herself. Mura and Swarna were slapping the door.

Swarna- Come out Durdhara, please come out, I will explain, please.

Mura shouted- Durdhara you open the door or else ...

After hearing Mura she opened the door, she gave a deadly look to Swarna and Mura told her to leave for her room. She left.

Mura entered her room and closed the door...

She made Durdhara sit on her bed and said

Mura- Durdhara, don't be upset my child, she wiper her tears. Is this how you aim to be his Agramahishi, by crying and throwing tantrums.

Durdhara said, Maa they cheated me, they lied to me. If Chandra wanted Swarna so much whey did he make promises of love to me. Is it true that all men are same? Is Chandra is like that only? Why he said he loved me when he loved her? Mura said, Durdhara you don't know royal customs. Sometimes kings have to do things which are not pleasant for themselves or they don't agree with it. It was necessary for Chandra to have a lineage which was hidden from his enemies. No one knows Swarna is his wife and her son is hidden from everyone and thats why he is safe.

Durdhara said, if Acharya wanted Chandra to have a hidden lineage why didn't he marry me to Chandra, I would have remained hidden. Why Swarna? Mura said, because he needed Paursa's support for Chandra but he wasn't agreeing to marry her because of you. Also, I don't know but Acharya has far greater role for you than just a hidden wife. Trust fate a little Durdhara. Please, have patience. Accept Swarna as his wife and your future Co-Wife. When you will become Agramahishi, you will have to deal with these things daily. Then what will you do? Being an Agramahishi is not easy my child. It means making your heart a stone.

Durdhara - Does he? Does he now love her as well?

Mura says- She is wife now Durdhara, he can't abandon her. You have to accept that she has a special place in his heart.

Hearing this made Durdhara's heart ache from pain. But she wiped her tears. She said, if you say so Maa, I will forgive them but i am a human being not a monk that I will not be mad at what they did.

Swarna in her room was greatly upset, she touched her belly and said, where are you Chandra? I am not able to handle it anymore. Please come back....

Chandra and Acharya had gone out of jungle in disguise. Acharya was roaming as a monk and him as his disciple. Suddenly they saw a Nanda soldier and Acharya told him a plan. A kid told that soldier he had seen Acharya and Chandragupta in that direction. That soldier hurriedly went in that direction. There he saw a monk doing meditation. He said, Dev, did you see two people going from here together? He said, yes, they are hiding in that water from you. Soldier smiled and went into the river, suddenly Chandra came out and cut his throat....that monk was Acharya himself...they both left for a safer place..

Acharya asked- Chandra how did you know this plan would work?

Chandra says- I had full trust on you Acharya that you know best.

Acharya impressed and he said- In future you will be highly respectful and obliging towards me

(This story is mentioned in ParisishtaParvan, it's an actual incident)

Durdhara came out and saw Swarna with her son and Chaya. She ignored Swarna and started playing with her son. Swarna didn't say anything. Chaya was upset too that they were not talking to each other.

Chaya said, Bhabhi (to Swarna) , it made Durdhara shake a little but she remained quiet, Chaya said, did you get any news of Bhaiyya yet? Swarna was about to say something when a messenger came...he said, Princess ..Swarna went to meet him and he gave a message, bowed to her and left. Swarna read the message and got shocked, she fainted....

Durdhara and Chaya ran to pick her up, her son started crying.

Later when she woke up

Swarna started crying, she said sab khatam ho gaya...

Durdhara said Kya hua?

She said, Chandra lost the war and Acharya and him are missing....Everyone shocked....Except Mura everyone started crying...

Mura said, stop this, my son is fine, when he was in my belly, from then he is defeating death. He will himself choose his death. My son is alive and he will come back. Her confidence gave a little power to everyone, specially Swarna who was fretting for her son and unborn child. Durdhara became stern. She left for the temple and lit a Diya in front of God. She said, Mahadev, my Chandra will come back to me and to his family. From now on I will think and behave like a queen should. I have confidence my Chandra is alive and in his absence I will take care of his Mother, his sister, his wife, his son , his uncle who is away for trade and his unborn baby. FROM NOW ON I WILL BE WHAT MY CHANDRA WANTS ME TO BE, His AGRAMAHISHI
