Part 42

Swarna and Chandra were in deep embrace. He says, Swarna I don't want you to accompany me in war. She was caressing his chest. She asked why? If you go to war and God forbid something happens to you, the purpose of our marriage will fail. The sole purpose of our marriage is to produce a lineage who will solely serve me and my heir like my secret army, my secret children who will be away from eyes of my enemies. Our sacrifice will go in vain. Swarna says you are right. Though I hate being staying away from adventure, for our goal I will do this. He smiled, he says how will I ever pay you back. She smiled and kissed him. She said I don't want anything, not even your heart, I just want you to be happy and become best of sovereigns. He smiled. Well I will try to pay to back. He says, you saw me and Durdhara, didn't you? She got shocked. Swarna says...I..he put his fingers on her lips. He says , I am so sorry. I am feeling terrible for hurting you. She sadly says, you didn't hurt me though I must confess I didn't like it. I am a human after all. He kissed her shoulder. He asked, so how will you forgive me? She says, win the war tomorrow and I will forgive you. He says, I promise, I will win.....

Bhadrashal, Nandini and Amatya were sitting together. Amatya said, we must not attack immediately, so far we have got the news that Yavana Satraps are gonna attack Taxila. We must let them fight among themselves as Malyaketu has betrayed Kalyani. We will wait for the result of this war and will plan according to the result. Dhan Nanda says but what if Kalyani wins then what? She might annex Pauravdesha as well. Bhadrshal says we must prepare the troops and tell them to be ready for any attack , whether on Taxila, Pauravdesha or their combined forces. Nanda agreed.

Nandini and Nayantara were talking in her room. Nayantara says, Nandini so what type of husband you want? She says sadly, I have no choice now. Whosoever will father choose, I will accept him. Nayantara says, yeah, this is Niyati of us Rajkumaris, we never get to choose our own husbands. Nandini says, forget about it. So you were telling me you will stay with me a little longer as there is a tussle going between your father and your uncle over succession. She says, yes Nandini and I wanted to stay along from all the trouble so I came here. Nandini says, stay as long as you want my sister and she hugged her.

Part 43

Kalyani, Chandragupta and Simharan were all set for the war. Their armies were ready. They suddenly got the news that Philipus had attacked Taxila but Eudemus had attacked Pauravdesha. It came as a complete surprise. Kalyani said we didn't expect this. Chandra says, indeed it is very unexpected. The warriors started the war. Chandra on the battlefield was exceptional. He was crushing down thousands of soldiers just by sitting on his elephant. Kalyani was shocked to see his valour. Simharan attacked Philipus from front but one of his bodyguards threw a poisonous arrow from behind but before dying he greatly injured Philipus. Philipus was in no position to fight any further. He tried to escape but was killed by Chandragupta. He had won the war solely by his strategy and valour. As kalyani was coming to congratulate him someone stabbed her from behind. Chandra was shocked.....

Eudemus on otherside had attacked Pauravdesha but as Malayketu wasn't there the army was fewer than before. Pauravraj still defeated him. Eudemus asked for mercy and offered him money, concubines and even one of his daughters fom his native concubine to the king. Pauravraj pardoned him and invited him for the feast. Eudemus camouflaged his allegiance and treacherously killed Pauravraj. Pauravdesha was under control of Eudemus now....

All these events took almost two months.........

Part 44

It was coronation day. Chandragupta now controlled Taxila and Paursa. He had assimilated Paursa, a small city completely in Taxila due to sacrifices of Swarna. The people of Paursa started mingling with Taxilians. Priests were doing Yajnas, Kalyani had died and Malayketu was now refugee in Taxila under Chandra. Chandra had promised Malayketu that he will give Pauravdesha to him and in return he will have to help him when the time comes. Malayketu had agreed. Kalyani was stabbed by Yuvraj of Ambhiraj who had escaped from prison and in return was executed for treason. Ambhiraj's other sons were given choice of either becoming monks or getting executed. They chose to become monks and their wives left with them, some retuned to their homes who were from royal houses. Eudemus was controlling Pauravdesha.

On this coronation day, priests were chanting Mantras, he took a royal bath in front of everyone and had his rajya Abhishek. He took blessings of Acharya and sat on the throne. Everyone started shouting Maharaj Ki Jai Ho. He was very happy today. He thought, Maa, Kaka, Durdhara, Chaya ....you all must be so proud of myself. He saw Swarna standing with Akshay on one side. He felt sad. He thought, she is my wife yet she is standing like some guest in a corner. I always had great regard for her in my heart and love which I made with her has been the most blissful moments of my life. How can I bear to see her rights being snatched away from her like that. How cruel is my niyati. Malayketu was watching all this helplessly. He still thought Philipus' army had misguided him.

After coronation, Swarna met Chandra who was alone in his room. This time she gave many security checks and took an appointment before meeting him. She said Maharaj ki Jai Ho. He turned back and hugged her, oh swarna, how I missed you all these months? She sarcastically smiled, you missed me? Sometimes pity can be confused with love Maharaj, I don't want your pity but your friendship. Chandra said, Swarna please, today let me tell you how I admire you, I love you, yes I still love Durdhara but you are my wife, and your rights have been snatched from you, I feel....she stopped him, she said stop it Maharaj, you are not Chandra anymore but Maharaj, a king, you should act like one, kings don't say sorry to anyone. Chandra smiled. Swarna said, let me tell you something. She took his hand and put it on her stomach. She said, the first soldier of your army is gonna come now. Chandra got really excited, he shockingly said, am I gonna be a father? Swarna said, yes Maharaj, you are. Chandra hugged her, he said, swarna this feeling is the best feeling I have ever felt, I feel like I should announce everyone from the terrace of this palace that I am gonna be a father, Swarna smilingly but also sadly said, Maharaj, you are forgetting foundation of our marriage, no one should know I am your wife and I am carrying your child. Everyone thinks I married a guy named Priyadarshan. At first my Amatyas hated me for this but when I told them I would take sanyas, they agreed to help you. My children will not be your heir. He became sad. He said I know....but a father's heart is of a father only....he bent down and kissed her belly........Swarna cried happily and embraced him...she said I love you Chandra. He replied I love you too.

Nayantara was still in the palace, she was roaming around as Nandini was out of the palace with her brother Sukesh. Suddenly Nayantara bumped into someone. He said, I am sorry and when he was about to go Nayantara became angry, she said how dare you dishonour a princess like that... the guy said even if you are a princess it doesn't mean I should worship you. Nayantara was shocked, what audacity, I will punish you but suddenly Amatya came and said Shashank.... Shashank left with Amatya...Nayantara said, I will punish you Shashank....for this....she left in anger.....

Part 45

Apama and Helena had entered Taxila and had a booked a resort type place for themselves. Apama was in disguise, she told the officers that she was a slave of Apama and had come to visit Taxila on a pleasure tour to save her daughter as per doctors. So she did not totally lie. She had arrived on the day of coronation of Chandra. She was in a market with Helena. Her health had already started improving and Apama was very happy to see it. She was seeing jewellery in a store when he heard few people talking........a person said, our new king is so amazing, glad he is our king now. Today is his coronation and he has already started working hard. From morning he is listening to the problems of the people. Apama thought, wow, such a nice and hard working king....I will tell Seleucus about him.....Baseilus always like intelligent kings even if they are his enemies.....Apama asked that person in her language, who is your new king? Her slave translated, he said our new King's name is Chandragupta....Apama said Chandragupta....? That person said, he saved us from invasion of Philipus and also extended our lands. He is a very moralistic king. He does not have a queen yet still he left Ambhiraj's Antahpura unmolested and honoured his and his son's wives, even concubines. Never we have seen such an amazing king...Apama was really impressed.....in all of this Helena was listening to all this and smiling continuously....Apama said, oh seems like you also like this new king Helena....in her child's voice......she said

......meet him ......Apama and that person laughed(though he did.noy understand) .. Apama said.....my dear daughter, we are not here to meet him......but to improve your health, she thanked the person and left with Helena and her slave......Helena was really happy in Taxila and her health alredy getting better made Apama very positive towards her recovery.......Helena stated crying seeing a necklace, it was made of precious stones....Apama asked You want this? Helena nodded. She bought it for her and she started playing with her and said Sandro......Apama said what Helena? She said Sandro......The slave said, Shahbanu, she is probably trying to take the name of that new king......Apama said, oh dear you are so sharp.......you just heard his name and is trying to pronounce it....so cute.....Helena was still playing with necklace and was occasionally saying Sandro.....

Part 46

Rakshas talked with Shashank, Shashank I want you to take care of my duties in my absence. Shashank asked Where are you going master? He said to Asakya. Shashank was cleverly sent by Acharya to Magadha and he first became slave of Amatya Rakshasa and then his most trusted confidant. He secretly sent important news to Acharya, so secretly that even sometimes Shashank himself couldn't decode his own message.

Nandini and Sukesh were roaming in a market in disguise. Nandini asked, brother, when are you getting married? You are Yuvraj. You need to extend our lineage now. He said, I have dozens of sons already Nandini. She said yes you have but you need an heir. I think my friend Nayantara will be perfect for you. Sukesh left and Nandini ran to meet Mura and Durdhara. She met them. Mura was delighted to meet Nandini but now she felt a little ego in her which wasn't there when she last met her. Nandini so barren hairline of Durdhara and smiled, she greeted Mura and asked her for a private audience with Durdhara and took her alone nearby. Nandini asked, how are you? Durdhara said, I am good, how are you? Nandini said, trying to cope up with my heartbreak still, so Chandra still didn't marry you? Did my curse work, is he currently obsessing over a woman? She said it in very hurtful and insulting tone. Durdhara became angry and maintained her composure. She said Rajkumari, Chandra and my relationship is none of your business. Regarding him not marrying me, one day he will marry me. He will come back and marry me after achieves his goals. She smiled and asked sarcastically, what is his goal? To become a king, if I want, father will attack him and make him my slave..Durdhara wanted to slap her but she couldn't do it. Durdhara said, I feel pity for you Nandini. Your heart is filled with hatred and anger due to your heartbreak. You couldn't have your precious toy so in tantrums you cursed him and me but guess what, your ego will take you nowhere. Move on in life. I can see you are still hurt but still can't stop loving chandra, you will hurt your future husband if you keep having Chandra in your heart. If you don't change, you will end up as a lonely woman. And she left angrily. Tears started coming in Nandini's eyes. She thought, what is my fault? That I love Chandra? Is that my fault? She left for the palace.

Part 47

Chandra was sitting with Acharya, Malayketu and Akshay. Akshay was now his one of the cavalry commanders. Chandra asked, Acharya how should we deal with Eudemus? Should we attack him? Acharya said, no, we will make Eudemus leave without any bloodshed. Malayketu shocked, he said Acharya, he killed my father treacherously and you want to let him go unscathed. Acharya said, I can understand your feelings Malayketu, but for peace in Vahik Pradesh, we need to do this sacrifice. Your and Chandra's alliance will help in removing Eudemus. Your uncle who is famously called laghu paurav has contacted us again. He will join us soon. Our troops are only growing. So why shorten them when Eudemus can be uprooted peacefully. Malayketu was irritated but he had to accept this. Chandra asks? But how will we do this? Acharya said, my spies have told me that queen of Persia is in Taxila with her daughter. Chandra asks, what? Queen of Parsikas is here? How can this be possible? And if she came here why in disguise. If she have told us, we would have honoured her as per her status, didn't she want to be our guest? Chanakya says, spies told us, that her daughter is very weak and daughters advised her to go to Taxila for her health recovery. Chandra says, really? Strange. She came so far just because of that. Chanakya says, it all sounds very strange to me too, but a mother can do anything for her child. Chandra remembers he was gonna be a father too and he blushed. He says, yes Acharya, a parent can do anything for their child. Acharya smiled knowing what he meant, he was happy on Swarna's news as well but the thought, your journey is still very long Chandra. The day your heir will be born, I want that day to be the most memorable day of your life. Suddenly Chandra remembered the conversation between Eudemus and Philipus when they were at Pauravdesha months ago, he thought, is she wife of Seleucus? Acharya said, we must trap Eudemus now........Chandra smirked , Malay was frustrated......

In Magadha

Dhan Nanda and Bhadrashal were together, they got to know about the situation in Vahik Pradesh. Dhan Nanda says, so what you think General? What should we do? Should we attack them? Bhadrashal says we must see who is gonna attack who first....then we should make a decision, there is no way Malayketu would accept Eudemus in Pauravdesha. Dhan Nanda agreed........

Nandini was in her room crying after she met Durdhara when suddenly Nayantara entered fully angry. Nayantara ranted about Shashank for an hour with her and Nandini was not really listening to all this and said....Nayantara said and that Chandragupta.....this name caught attention of Nandini, she quickly said , Chandragupta?.... Nayantara said , yes Chandragupta...Nandini asked what about him? Nayantara said, weren't you listening? Nandini said not really, what about him? She said, this young warrior has defeated a yavan and had become king of Taxila.....Nandini was shocked, king of Taxila? She said yes, suddenly Nandini became very happy. She hugged Nayantara, she was confused. Nandini thought, now my wishes can be fulfilled.....I must talk to father immediately and she left running.....Nayantara said, what is in this Chandragupta that Nandini ran away.........oh yeah I heard he is handsome.....maybe she has heard it and she laughed.........silly Nandini.......Nandini was extremely happy, while running she was dancing with her Dasis, she saw Suhasini coming from front and she bumped into her, usually nandini disliked her as she had cash a spell on her father but today she hugged her and again left running...... Suhasini was shocked, she thought What has happened to her?

Apama and Helena with their slave were in a room, Helena was playing with her necklace and laughing and smiling, she also ate food properly for the first time. Apama had happy tears in her eyes. She says, I am so happy I made this decision. Look how happy Helena is here. Slave says, indeed Shahbanu, I am really happy to yo see Shahzadi being so playful and happy. Apama says, I wish I future, whenever she gets married, her husband will keep her happy like this. Slave said, don't worry Shahbanu, remember what oracle said, her husband will be madly in love with her. Apama said, but she also said he will be our enemy and she got worried.

Nandini went to see her father who was sitting in his room quietly. She met him. Nanda says, come my darling daughter, with with me. Nandini was extremely happy. She sat with him. She said, father I am here to ask you something. He says, ask me anything my dear. She says, father, who is this new king of Taxila I am hearing about? Nanda says, oh Chandragupta? Nandini says with butterflies in her stomach, yes, Chandragupta. Nanda asks, what about him? What do you want to know? Nandini says, I heard he is a very.....brave and......ah

... courageous king...Nanda laughed, he says, I am hearing many rumours about him, but yes, he is young man who attacked Satrap and is now controlling the region. Nandini blushed, she thought, how can I tell him? Should I tell him that I love him. Nanda suddenly says, but very soon he will be dead. Nandini got shocked, she got up and said, dead? Why? I mean how? Nanda says, Nandini dear these are secret matters, he tapped her head and said you must not involve in these matters. You are educated but have very little knowledge of such things, very soon I will find a good groom for my beloved daughter. He hugged her, she had tears in her eyes again. Shr thought, Durdhara was right, I must move on. From now on, I will try to forget him. Eudemus was drinking while sitting alone in his room when a slave entered, he says, Satrap, a person named Philos has arrived here.....to meet you..... Eudemus says let him in. Eudemus got shocked, he says that Seleucus???.....he angrily threw his wine glass away......Eudemus shouted, I always wanted to go back and participate in Diadochis wars but here I am, entangling myself in a place where my own people are not.....and now he is trying to have an alliance with Taxila to get more influence in this region.....Eudemus started contemplating something....he told the spy to leave.....

Chandragupta had started ruling Taxila and he was already doing a pretty good job. Everyone seems to be really happy with him, citizens for the first time in years thought that they were safe and happy. Chandragupta had given families of slained warriors of Maskavati, Ashwataks and others protection in his region and gave them jobs as warriors and the marriages of their young girls were arranged. Akshay got married to a daughter of one of the slained soldiers of Ashwataks who were mercilessly killed by Alex's army and their families took refuge in jungle to avoid slavery.

After a long day he came to his room (he changed his rooms frequently for protection). Alone in his thoughts he was thinking about Swarna....he thought, I should be with her right now....he asked his servant, where is Swarna? Call her, I want to meet her. Servant felt weird that why he wanted to meet another woman who was wife of another man but she replied, Sire, she left today in early morning. Chandra says, left? Where? She replied, I don't know Sire. Chandra went to meet Acharya immediately. He asked Acharya, where is Swarna acharya? Chanakya says, she is safe. He asks Acharya but I must know where is she? You know she needs my attention and care. Acharya a little annoyed, Chandra focus on your work. Don't forget, it's swarna's job to serve you and keep your children in hiding and protected and give them education to work in your and later your heir's favour. Don't think of her as a queen but a tool to save your Dynasty. Chandra felt angry but he didn't want to argue with Acharya. He says, I understand the purpose of our marriage was not to make her my queen but Acharya she is still with my child, wouldn't she feel lonely. Acharya days, don't worry she be taken care of but if I tell you where is she you might want to meet her again and again. I don't want you to loose focus...Chandra did pranaam to him and he came back to his room (now another room). He thought, why my fate is so cruel? My wife is with my child and I cannot even meet her. I don't even know where is she. In Magadha, Durdhara is waiting for me. Two women who loved me are being hurt by me and I cannot do anything. And I hurt that poor Nandini as well but I never made any false promises to her so I am not in fault here. I hope she would have moved on by now. We can never have a relationship because one day either Nanda will be defeated or he will kill me. In both cases Nandini will be deeply hurt. So it's futile.....

Give me the weekend @NostalgiaLove to read it all like I do with my Wattpad books. Plus, will it go to cover Bindusara and Ashoka's stories too or only Chandragupta's?
