That legend is also made up, probably few years later after princep deciphered his inscriptions and Ashok became famous, no legit source calls her princess of Kalinga, she was called Devi so she definitely would have been from a prestigious family or was given prestige by Ashok (here it should be mentioned some historians consider Karu as Tisyarakshita). Not even Devi, the credit for Ashok's so called transition goes to Nigrodh/Samudra, Upagupta and Asandhimitra.

Just like Jodha Bai here also Kaurwaki the fruit of inaccurate history will keep us haunting till someone bother to show some real facts about Ashok and give proper respect to his real Agramahisi and the other person who actually made impact in his life smiley6

I don't see this happening, the misconceptions are so deep rooted even some online teachers teach false history because they don't bother to find real facts and blatantly tell about serial's story.😡 Few things needed to be properly cleared up:-

1- Durdhara was not DhanaNanda's daughter and she was Agramahishi and Ragyi. Proper Queen. She belonged from Mauryan Lineage.

2- Nand Nandini was not favoured queen. She was respected just because her father was previous king and Amatya Rakshas to stay in limits.

3- Helena, Seleucus' daughter though favourite wife was never Chief Queen. Her role was limited to produce kids and bring them up. Her life revolved around her husband and children not the court.

4- Asandhimitra was soulmate of Ashok, love of his lifez his guide, his everything. Vidisha Mahadevi was his first love and would live in his heart but Asandhimitra's place was exalted one. He loved her and even more respected her and respect is above everything even love.

5- Karuwaki was not princess of Kalinga and her name was Karuwaki/Charuwaki not Kaurwaki.

Sigh!!! All these points... who would teach this stupid ph? or even if we make effort to enlighten them they would just shoo it of claiming that they are following popular culture.. its not the proper history they are showing.... then why bother to make historical show? Who would we even bother to watch a historcial show which doesn't show us even a little bit of proper history? To see bickering between hero-heroine or two sautans doing catfight and sasu ma conspiring... maannn we can opt to normal shows for all those things?smiley29

Exactly, I thought they made this because bigamy would be justified in ancient times and it would be easy to show here, turns out they are preaching monogamy and that too through Ashok, polygamy ka keeda tha use. 🤣😂 Hadh hai

Chandragupta Maurya of Imagine TV was somehow a good historical fiction minus that irritating character of Durdhara, gosh she was pain in stomach 😒😬 she was so irritating when she used to shout Hamare Prem ke beech koi aa nahi sakta, wo hamara prem hai and blah blah, I used to pray for PH to not show accuracy and introduce Helena earlier to get someone between her nibba nibbi prem. 😂 She was maa of Karu in irritating audiences 😬😂

I actually enjoyed CGM of imagine TV until Dhurdhara entered. though they took creative liberty but represented the era in a good, proper way.. a little creative luberty is ok for me till it doesn't hamper the history too much.. but then... Dhurdhara came smiley44
Would it hamper much if they didn't show Dhurdhara till the end? We were happy seeing politics, plan and war

Even though fictional, it was a good historical fiction and audiences learnt a lot of positive things from that show, the interaction on love between CGM and Chanakya actually happened in real life but it happened when he started spending too much time with his Yavani who was very beautiful (Helena I guess, she was already preg when she reached Patliputra so I think Acharya meant Helena only). But in the show it happened because CGM spent one week with Durdhara and the nibba thought she was his love. Seriously the nibba nibbi romance of Chandhara was so cringe. Also this stupid girl was fighting her own father and kingdom for CGM. She made Dhan's evilness as an excuse for her treacherous behaviour. The girl was ruled by her hormones. Her only goal in life was to stay close to CGM. How disgusting and repulsive. I prayed to God to introduce Helena soon or make Mihika a third wheel but make Chandhara separated because she was a very stupid character and made CGM and even Chanakya look stupid 😒😡

I watched the show on YT a few years later after its real telecast time... skipped that whole episode.. suddenly it started to look like some different show... and it was hard to see even more. I lost huge amount of my interest and somehow finished the show skipping her scenes

Nibba CGM in this show was showing all signs of Nibba but also a cheater because when Mihika hinted to CGM she liked him and in last episode when she asked whether he met Durdhara or not, he blatantly lied saying he didn't meet her when he did. Men will always be men 🤣😂

Even during original run Durdhara was disliked because her character graph didn't make sense, if they had showed accuracy by making her his childhood friend and a commoner that would still be believable
