Supporting cast were or were rarely leads, so they are doing their bests. Even Devi/Praachi was a passing character in ISA and had a more prominent role in Madam Sir. So, given the chance here to show her talent against the 2 main leads, she's giving it her all.

Ashok being funny might have got to do with either those unnecessary funny scenes they added or well, the bad acting Adnan is already doing😣 (here I admitted that it finally, OK💔). But then again, where's the direction when they need to do their job???

Also, trust me, dialogues could change to be majorly hindi than using urdu word or the watered down hindi being used across India today.

This show was bound to fail because main leads are miscast, screenplay is incoherent and ambiguous. Plot is still not properly opened. We still don't understand where this Diana came from, and those who don't know history still don't know who is Helena and what is her relationship with other characters. She only says Ashok is my pota , that's it. Supporting characters also need to be well connected for a show to work. Adnan is not able to perform. His look and acting both are pathetic and laughable. Mallika acts well but her dialogue delivery is very bad which makes her character not likeable. Karuwaki as a character is extremely stupid and not relatable at all. She is being forced to marry Vidisha's king and we can feel no sympathy for her. That's failure of the writers that we are actually rooting for Karu to get away from Ashok as far as possible. Too much for an amar prem kahani 😂🤣 Karu is so stupid that Audience think that she deserves to marry Vidisha's king for being an utterly stupid brainless woman who thinks Ashok could make uma pregnant in just two days 🤣

If an actor wants to audition, they can, however, Casting Team (HR equivalent) is also responsible for selecting the whole team of actors. They should have known better. Could have tried different expressions/emotions and lines.

I don't think Adnan had any audition , he was briefed about the show and he got onboarded. Mallika had audition I think with Adnan and after that look test and all . Honestly, I feel the issue here is actors not being trained, no proper workshops on important things and straight away shooting and telecast !!

If I take the example of Monday's episode promo, Adnan was literally taking secs break in delivering a dialogue("Kya apko mera sharth manjoor hai" even the mother related dialogue before that). May be because he was shouting and saying it but it dint look natural at all. Honestly, I was little surprised as he used to recite complex shayari's well in KA. It looks like he is putting effort but needs guidance into how to make it look best onscreen which is not happening here !

They should stop adding random fruit eating scenes to make him look cool and trying to be funny 😂

If he's directly taken on board then the casting team should be fired. He's still getting a grasp of hindi therefre on the basis of language Adnan isn't fit for the role. Otherwise as such his voice is very good.

Cannot be written off completely since most ITV actors depend on directors.

There's Shaheer who has done mytho, period and fiction. As a newcome did excellent work in MB thought cant say the same when he was part od Salim Anarkali.

Adnan did quite well as Viaan Raghuvanshi he's kind of falling apart as Ashok.

Shaheer was very good as Arjun, Adnan is not able to perform as Ashok, looks like he is putting too much efforts. The only way to save the show if the they want is to replace main leads and change the story to make it more historically authentic. It's important that Kaurwaki should be sidelined because her existence had no significance for Ashok. She was his second wife that's it. Ashok had no larger than life story and reality they cannot show. So it was better if they had made a show on Chandragupta or a different king than Ashok.

If they wanted to genuinely compete with Anupama, they should have tried to make a show which is entertaining and visually pleasing enough. Next week 0.6 trps and the show ends in just one month. Sorry but the show is so bad it cannot run for a long time. They will change time slot, do cheap promotion but won't do necessary changes to make it better.

Whatever needs to change, hopefully they do. And if Adnan takes on another period/mythological show, hopefully it will be Swastik so that he finally gets good direction.

Mallika might have had good direction there, at Swastik, hence people loved their characters there.

I believe that Sourabh Raaj Jain has also played a villain (Dhananand if I'm not wrong). Was it Swastik too, because once I watched 1 episode of it and had to close my laptop. He didn't fit the character as he was OTT, almost Shakuni like, which I feel wasn't required there.

I guess direction is very much needed with TV actors as they're learning most of the time.

Because due to digital era everyone has access to information online and can fact check and everyone knows Karuwaki was not princess of Kalinga and he had love for Asandhimitra not Karuwaki. Also everytime Karuwaki's character is played by an overactor. Kareena also overacted in the movie.

I think it's also the way they portray the character. They try to show her as a warrior but also very crybaby. So it's extreme of both sides.

Exactly, everytime Karuwaki is made a warrior and against crybaby and also their story doesn't look appealing as he had two kids and a wife already so looks like cheating though it was perfectly normal for royals at that time.
