(Weekend Topic) Aesthetic Sarees for Aastha

Ok guys! I wanted to make this post about sarees for Aastha since last week (remember my Shirts for Shlok topic?) and saved up a truck load of pictures on my lappy since last weekend! Siham(SajnaVe) already made a similar post but I had an elaborate report in mind and too many pics to post, not just one or two. So, I decided to make a separate topic just for sarees😊.

God! its not at all easy to select sarees. There are so many varieties and its so confusing, especially for someone who never shopped for sarees. That's me😃. I just wear sarees chosen by mommy and mommy-in-law without complaining. But here I am with my report after a thorough *ahem* "research"😛

Every character in the show has a specific style in clothing, except for Aastha. I felt she should have a specific style different from other ladies in the show. Since Shrenu is tiny, sarees that are stiff, like cotton and heavy silks, will make her look like a balloon. She should wear fabrics that drape well. my choice would be fabrics like tussar silk, chiffon and georgette. Sarees with thin simple borders, no pallu design with sleeveless/ very short sleeve blouses(elbow length blouse like in that tellybytes video is a bad choice, I feel) is how I would dress Aastha. This pic here is the style Aastha could adopt in the show.😊

Patterns: I think that Shrenu should go for shaded sarees instead of half and half variety. the two shades in the saree should also be of same color family instead of contrast colors. It just looks more graceful.

Other Patterns:

This flowy pattern is better for Shrenu instead of big contrast colored flower saree.

For Shrenu, self design sarees are a safe choice for any pattern instead of going for contrast colors.

Again, tiny butta is a better choice for Shrenu than chunky flowers( like the one she wore on SR)

For wearing certain patterns(polka dots/stripes) in contrast colors, I feel she should go for graded pattern(polka dots shown) as it would not divide her height.😊

Borders: For Shrenu, borders should be simple and not more than one or two inches wide (if you see wider border in my pics, imagine that its thinner). There should be no pallu design as I feel that it divides her length wise and makes her look even shorter. I chose Embroidered border, Lace border and Gold/Silver strip border for her.😊

Lace border: Found two different versions of Lace borders, one is band like lace and the other one is scalloped lace.

Gold/Siver strip border:
