Today was interesting.
First of all ...I was happy that they didn't show Paakhi winning this challenge...that would have been just too fairy tale...unreal...predictable...I am glad that they kept it interesting by having her not win...

It gave a chance for viewers to see how Anshuman would react to a win...and Paakhis loss...

About that...I was glad that kept Anshuman from doing the dirty and Ms. JaiSingh stepped into that role gladly...it gave a chance for Anshuman to support Paakhi at least publically...so I am glad for that!

But that's where my jubilation stops...Anshuman says the right things but does not mean them...šŸ˜•and says things which are not right either...for example...if she is not "good enough" for our society...so what he is implying that wearing a miniskirt is something that a "good enough" person must do...why is that? Obviously he does not respect individual choices...that he boasted about...šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼

I hope Paakhi does not bend over backwards to subscribe to his ill conceived philosophy...She should continue to be the self confident person she is...and if he does not get that...that's his issue...he can take a hike...šŸ˜”

That's how I feel...what about you?

So today the plan was completely in place. Anshuman wants to show Pakhi that she is an misfit in his society and wants Pakhi to leave him and go on her own. He got an unintentional partner in Mrs.JaiSingh in that and he let her do the dirty work. So it shows that he is an through and through businessman - he doesn't hesitate to have any one do the dirty work for him as long as he is clean.

So today it was Mrs.Jaisingh and tomorrow it is going to be his Di. His ultimate goal is to have Pakhi get it straight that she is from a small town and can't be Rathod parivaar's bahu and his wife. Today he stood up to Mrs.JaiSingh but in that standing up too, he was kind of reinforcing the things that Mrs.JaiSingh mentioned, namely, Pakhi doesn't feel comfortable in his society, he will adjust and he will let of his favorite tournament. Pakhi was feeling so down in the car ride. Bechari she did try her level best to try to learn the game and do her part but she never expected the socialite Mrs.JaiSingh to humiliate her like that. I can really feel her hurt when she says I so wish I can meet babhisa and bhaiyasa.

Now tomorrow Lavanya is going to do the honors and tell how much of an misfit Pakhi is by forcing her to drink wine and telling her off in front of her family. Need to see how Pakhi is going to handle the things from here. Got to say the creatives did a good work by not showing any match and directly went to the point. Looking forward to today's episode.

Check the video where Lavanya forces Pakhi to drink wine in front of her brother and bhabhi. I guess this scene is after the dinner scene and Lavanya just tells the whole stuff on the face of Pakhi and her family which forces Pakhi's brother to just take her from there.

Well said..

his speech was a contradiction because he wanted to look good as well as publicly ridicule his wife.. hence he cloaked his insults underneath the veil of his so called support.. what was he thinking when he states so what if she is a misfit really so being narrow minded and maintaining a pathetic mentality all qualify as being classy and capable of fitting into the upper class society.. the entire sequence was just sad but quite perfectly portrayed Anshuman's manipulative characteristics..

I just loved the entry of Paakhi's family members and her brothers reaction in the pre cap was eagerly awaited Anshuman and his sister need to understand Paakhi is not alone her loved one's will stand by her in her time of need.. and they are better human beings overall at least they have the courage to confront them openly.. instead of playing childish games..!!

I think for the misinformed...
Class = slavery to another culture...šŸ˜”

French, Italian, German people are so proud of their culture...why do we Indians feel the need to imitate?

I wish there was an excuse but alas that is simply her true personality.. she will do anything in order to obtain complete control over her surroundings.. if that means demeaning Paakhi in order to have her thrown out so be it... she wants her brother married to a rich girl and so she shall have it.. but really the poor thing has no idea who she is dealing with..!!

To Anshuman's credit at least he didn't tell Ms JaiSingh and Lav to leave their politeness...it is how they chose to handle themselves... I hope CVs dont show he is the one playing it this way...

I am glad to see Paakhis family...may be time to go back to do some shooting in Chittorgarh again...??? May be that's too much to hope for...

PS...I didn't see the wine segment...did she drink it? Hope not...not that I see anything wrong with it...but I don't think she should be forced or do it under pressure if she doesn't want to...

I have to say...the say character requirement for being a desi TV hero is so much lower than the character requirement for being a desi TV heroine...just different standards...we are a long way from equality...

So waited for your post Sush.
I strongly hope Pakhi leaves with her brother instead of staying and being played upon by Anshuman, Lavanya and Ranas of the world!

I guess then there will be no story - if she left or perhaps they have a solid bank of episodes to take care of this!!!

Or else Pakhi wants to prove and her brother threatens both Anshuman and La that he will kill them if they misbehave with Pakhi!! WHat say?

Hi there. Great post!

Normally, I would agree with you about the hero/heroine thing, but thanks to previous experiences, I have more hope for the Mittals than other production houses/creative teams. They have created pretty nuanced male characters and so far, Anshuman is no exception. Even though he is profoundly unlikeable right now, I appreciate the way his character is being established, without any internal conflict.

Anshuman is refreshing as a character in that he is actually a bad boy and unashamed of it. Far more lethal than all the heroes who are outwardly aggressive and cruel but with a soft, mushy interior, he pretends to be awkward and shy when he is cold and calculative on the inside. And so far, there is no evidence to suggest that he is actually a nice guy, even deep down! For me this creates an interesting suspense because I can't quite predict where the break through is going to come in for his and Paakhi's relationship. At this point, he is intrigued by her, maybe, but his contempt and self-centered nature far outweigh any sentiments he may have.

We haven't yet seen Anshuman in an emotionally vulnerable position at all yet which is why it is hard to relate to him - he is unaffected by mention of his late wife, he is nothing more than cordial to his sister and BIL and shows no intimacy with anyone. That is why I am waiting on tenterhooks for little Ayaan's entry. I feel like that might be the key to Anshuman's heart?
