AT DADI'S HOUSE
Angad rings the doorbell and Dadi comes to open the door and is ecstatic to see him and quickly hugs him.
DADI(warmly):" Hmmm..bahot dinon ke baad yaad aayi Dadi ki tumhe?"
ANGAD(smiles back):" Love You, Dadiā¦.actually, main Kripa ko chhodne aaya hoonā¦.madam ke ankle mein sprain ho gaya hai."
DADI( looks behind him):" Kya? Kaise ho gaya ye sab? Use gaadi se neeche to utaaro."
ANGAD(turns towards the car):" Wahi kar raha hoon Dadi."
Angad goes back to the car and helps Kripa get out.Dadi watches them come and can very well see that Kripa can barely walk, inspite of Angad supporting herā¦.Kripa is wincing in pain but keeps mumā¦Angad can see her discomfiture.
ANGAD(quietly):" Rukoā¦tum jitna chalogi, utni hi zyada takleef hogi."
Kripa looks at him and Angad slowly gathers her delicate form in his arms and carries her inside.
DADI:" Angad , tum Kripa ko yaheen neeche ke kamre mein chhod do.....aasaani rahegiā¦(to Kripa)ā¦ye kya kar liya beta? Main tumhare liye garam paani laati hoon."
Angad carries Kripa to her room and very carefully puts her down on the bed and adjusts pillows according to her comfort.
ANGAD(patting her head):" Feeling any better?"
KRIPA(flatly):" Agar tum apni shakal leka yahaan se challe jaao , then I'll surely feel better."
ANGAD(laughs):" Tum kabhi sudhrogi nahiin, hai na? ā¦.dard mein bhi mujhse ladhne ko tayyar hoā¦.just shut up and take rest."
Dadi walks in and sits by Kripa's side, putting the bowl of hot water on a side-table.
ANGAD(hugs Dadi):" Accha, Dadi main chalta hoonā¦Empress of China ka dhyaan rakhiyega."
DADI(stops Angad):" Angad, kya tum aaj raat yahaan ruk sakte ho?"
Kripa almost throws up the water that she was drinking and Angad gets a really puzzled look on his face on hearing Dadi's request.
KRIPA( brattishly):" Kyun Dadi? Ye yahaan par kyun rukega? Iska apna ghar nahiin hai kya?"
ANGAD(mischieviously):" She is right Dadi. Agar main yahaan ruk gaya to abhi to iska paaon hi kharaab haiā¦phir to hamaari rockstar dimaag se bhi jaayegi."
DADI(smiles):" Just relax both of you! Baat ye hai ki aaj meri ek dost USA ja rahi hai..pata nahiin iske baad kab milna hoā¦.mujhe uske saath airport jana hai aur usse pehle hum dono ko kucch kaam bhi haiā¦..Kripa ko aisi haalat mein chhodkar main ja nahiin sakti, mujhe iski fikar rahegi."
KRIPA:" Main apna dhyaan rakh sakti hoon, Dadi lekin main Angad ke saath yahaan nahiin rahoongi."
ANGAD(equally irritated):" I am sorry, Dadi but I have some stuff to do."
DADI(playfully):" Theek hai, to main ā¦Prithvi ko bula leti hoonā¦woh to a hi jaayega."
On hearing Prithvi's name, Angad does an immediate U-turn!
ANGAD:" Prithvi ko bulaane ki kya zaroorat hai? Main ruk raha hoon na.Main Kripa ka khayaal rakhunga."
KRIPA:" Accha? Abhi to keh rahe the ki tumhe kucch kaam hai."
ANGAD(looking at her):" Haan kaam haiā¦lekin tumse zyada important nahiinā¦Dadi, aap aaraam se jaaiye, I'll stay with her."
Angad and Kripa look at each-other and Dadi smiles to herself.
DADI(adjusting her spectacles):"Hmmmmā¦ab main aaram se ja sakti hoonā¦.(hugs Angad)ā¦thanks, mera duniya ka sabse pyaar baccha."
Kripa rolls her eyes but Angad's gaze holds her.
