again, I refer you to the definition of diplomacy: Using or marked by tact and sensitivity in dealing with others.

Now tell me, how is Jodha's act NOT diplomatic. She considered the limitations (sensitivity) of both sides. She did not use violence but instead alternative methods to investigate the truth (tact). If that is not diplomatic, I don't know what is.

No it wasn't because of Mariam Zamani.. Akbar had always been open minded and modern in his thinking. All hindu festivals were celebrated inside the harem but they were still muslims infront of everyone..Most courtiers were conservative in their thinking and did not even approve of this.. and she wasn't his only hindu begam.. he took many rajput wives after her. He turned vegetarian later in his life because he was influenced by jainism and his encounter with shravika by the name of champa..
Akbar had a bad temper.. there is no way jodha could have talked to him like this. He once decided to pack her off to Amer forever for supporting Maan Singh (he was angry with him and asked him to go back).. Jodha was only asking him to reconsider and he got angry..

I felt it was because she promised to obey him.

okay but that does not discredit what she did. even before she made that promise to her sister, Jodha was going at it.
and even if she (like you say) doesn't have a choice, it is still diplomacy. what exactly are you trying to convey?

Either its Jodha's diplomacy or she is actually trying to portray to the moron duo in ill fitting skirts that Jodha Jalal are one, no matter what!
Besides, I kinda feel, she thinks her husband can 'actually' find another groom if this one goes...
Frankly, if those tears are Jodha's path towards DOORMAT-rydoom as per popular demand of tame down rudeness😡, I'll dig your thread a weep here!
Wish Jalal sees the light of the day soon ...Amen
