Ok today I am going to start with the character who made me smile and also for whom I felt very sorry. Poor Sojal was stuck in between her BIL, husband and MIL and she did not know what to do. The actress enacting the role of Sojal had a priceless expression on her face when she was nonverbally pleading to everyone to let her out of the loop. She knows what she will have to go through if she goes against Anjali. At the end she did listen to her husband and Anjali could not say anything because according to the 101 rules of Agnihotri family, the wife should listen to the husband😛. Not to lose heart Sojal did throw an apologetic look towards Anjali😆. She also tried to get into good books of Anjali by passing a snarky comment regarding Astha wanting to break the marriage and got a telling off from Varad who also knew exactly what she was up to😆. Earlier she tried sneaking a necklace for herself and she even tried indirectly pointing out to Anjali that a very expensive necklace will suit her but after getting a glare in return, she sweetly backtracked and told herself that the necklace will not suit her😆. Sojal is not an idiot. She realized that expensive gifts are being sent to Jyoti's in laws because of all that happened and that made her wonder whether Astha's family will also send them expensive gifts since the Agnihotris are not happy with them. I think she might be hoping that at least she will get some nice things from Astha's family🤔. She also got to know something important from the Narad chachu that who else but Anjali knows what the girl's family can go through if certain demands of the boy's family are not satisfied. Anjali looked very agitated when chachu passed this comment. No wonder she freaked out when Astha included her parents photograph in the collage. On the whole Sojal did have a very busy day and I wanted to give her a hug😉😛. She tries to live in this suffocating mansion and gets pushed down whenever she tries to raise her head. Similar to Anjali, Sojal also tries to take out her frustrations on whom she thinks should be weaker than her. Since Astha is the would be youngest DIL, then according the family hierarchy she should be Sojal's punch bag but like Anjali she also knows Astha and is thus wary that there are high chances that Astha will dance kathakali on her head.
The other character who caught my eye was the shrewd Shlok Agnihotri who realized that Astha was telling the truth and his own sister was lying. He knows Astha very well and he also knows that Astha is very passionate regarding others rights. She might not be passionate about her own right but she will fight for others and will not lie in these matters. Well he has faced the brunt of it in the past so he should be aware of it. He also knows that Astha is immature and hence indirectly told her to get proofs but first he took steps to protect his "plan Astha" by ensuring that Astha does not run away. The episode started off with Anjali indirectly warning Astha not to cross her limit and that the wedding can be stopped if she continues interfering in Agnihotri family matters. Astha's immaturity and naivety regarding handling sensitive cases came out when decided to tell everyone the truth without having any proofs to back her up. Since her parents believe her and will stand by her, most probably she thought that similar situation will apply for Jyoti also. She has seen how Kavya is treated, yet she did not tke a step back and think about what she was going to do. After being rebuked by Anjali she started pleading first to Shlok and then to Jyoti. Shlok was observing his sister and from his expression it seemed that he knew that Jyoti was lying. He gave Jyoti one more chance and then told Astha that he cannot help her because she does not have any proof. Since Astha was hurt, she walked off and Shlok glared back at his mother and followed Astha. Outside Astha told Shlok that she is not lying and Shlok who was worried that Astha's interference in the family matters might break this marriage alliance tells Astha not to get involved in all these sensitive family matters and to focus just on their relationship. He even tells Astha that he does not care about others but just cares about their happiness. He indirectly apologized for not supporting her by telling her that if any of his words have hurt her, then he is sorry for that. Sholk then observed her carefully and realized that his words did not have much effect on her mood and then tried to distract her by offering ice-cream (does he think that Astha is a small kid?). When Astha threw her ice cream in frustration that Shlok did not believe her and reinforced her anger by pointing out that without trust there is not relationship, Shlok also threw his ice cream and finally got Astha's attention (Anjali should insure all the glass items in the house). He then went for the next method to distract her and that is the use of force which he knows she equates with passion. Very forcefully he held her arms and told her that she should never think of leaving him and that she is the main aim of his life. Well he did not lie...that she is but his meaning was a bit different than to what she was. It did the trick, Astha apologized and Shlok looked at his hands that were forcefully holding Astha's arms and lets it go. When Astha again told him regarding not believing her, Shlok tells her that if he believes her then that will mean that he does not trust his sister and also that trust is not limited to him, it also involves the entire family. After saying all this he gave her a long and intent look. Shlok knew that Astha was telling the truth but he also knows that for the family to believe her, she will have to get proofs. He indirectly told her that in order for her to be taken seriously she will have to get proofs. Shlok also knows what his mother can do and that's why he was trying all avenues possible to distract Astha from any thoughts regarding her not marrying him. Later on when Astha showed the clip to the family members...Varad became very emotional while Shlok was furious. But both brothers did not do anything. It was only when Astha again threatened to not marry if Jyoti's problem is not solved that Shlok decided to take a step and since Shlok protested, Varad also joined in. I don't think Varad has it in him to openly defy the family and make his own path, but Shlok does. Shlok did something similar in the engagement ceremony. He did not protest when all the insults were being thrown at Astha's parents. He only spoke up when Astha protested. He does not want to let go of her and will do whatever possible for this marriage to take place.
Lots of things have been written about Anjali and today her feelings were open to her family members. When the tape was being played she looked very distressed. She also told openly in front of her sons that a woman has to do loads of things for the family. I think both the sons are aware of it but they also get angry when their mother does things to keep the image intact. Anjali was worried when Shlok decided to call Jyoti's in law. Wonder what Anjali will face at Neeranjan's hands? By the way wonder what is Neeranjan upto because when he was telling Anjali regarding how to take care of Jyoti fiasco his trademark music being played in the background, the music that usually means that the mask is back on. That music was not being played when he also made sure that Anjali heard about the land deal problem with Avdhut. He does not want Astha to know anything about it and hence told Anjali not to tell Astha and then with a big smile told her to not worry and to start preparing for the marriage. Although worried she meekly accepted that what Neeranjan was saying regarding the marriage was right, when she herself has acknowledged that she does not want the marriage to take place. Regarding Neeranjan so he thinks that giving expensive gifts will keep Jyoti's in laws happy and hence Jyoti might get some respite but then why did he not give the ashram to Abhay? Why did he anger Abhay if he knew that Jyoti's happiness rests on her husband being happy? Because it will clash with his image save mission? It is all about him...nobody is above him and everyone can and will be used to get him what he wants. Even the kids can be sacrificed. And Avdhut is planning to go against him and is hoping that Astha will not face the repercussions of his actions? Is this the same Avdhut who protected his daughter when he initially refused the marriage proposal suggested by Neeranjan? I am not saying that Avdhut should bend in front of Neeranjan but why doesn't he not want to accept that Astha might face the consequence of his action? It was actually Kalindi today who pointed it out to him and he looked very surprised. Hopefully Avdhut will look behind his back...I mean he is going against the ego of Neeranjan.
Creatives can you please clear certain things about this marriage of Jyoti. Other than the fact that I don't understand why a status conscious person will opt for Abhay as his SIL, I also don't understand that why will an image conscious and shrewd person like Neeranjan think that the society will not be aware of what is happening with his daughter. I mean the way Abhay and that aunt of his behaves, how is it possible that people are not aware? Doesn't that have any effect on Neeranjan Agnihtori's image?
