Personally I'd prefer a man like Shyam. He was educated, had exposure of both village and city life, he too married a widow and mother from child marriage - but he always took a firm stand. He suffered all taunts and brickbats to be with Sugna. Even when villagers commented if he had any "kami" that he married Sugna (that's a big insult for a man). He kept supporting Singhs. Even at this low, when he was miffed with Sugna at miscarriage of their child, he never crossed limits with her or give any insulting cold treatment to Singhs. He gave so much love to Sugna's child. He kept supporting Singhs and Anandi and Jagya, even after they grew older. He was never condescending.
His father and tausa were the limit, the nadir in their hatred of Sugna, her child and Singhs. Yet he withstood it all.
He and Sugna once suffered life-threatening attacks from goons sent by Pratap's parents. Still no word on it to Sugna. He's always maintained a certain standard and consistency...not merely temporary flashes of heroism.

Between Jagya and Shiv...I prefer neither. Though I commend Jagya for facing anything from family, risking losing everything to be with the woman he is attached to.

Shiv was God earlier. Now it's wait and watch mode for me regarding him. He has been told again and again - rishte todh denge...and he remains silent. I don't know what to make of his silence. He can't even say that rishta with Anandi and "justice for Sanchi" are two different things?

Wanting Anandi to testify in court as ex wife and not even talking to her about it and allowing family to threaten her is 🤢

My question did Ira tell shiv to break his rista from anandi ? She said she will not excuse anandi and her relationship with her will destroy. These 2 are very different things. There r families where MIL does not talk to DIL but son still lives with wife and has good relationship with both mom and wife.
Shiv was never god and he is a human too. It's people mistake to make him God and expect him to be right always. Regarding Shyam, I too liked him but cvs don't have any story so ended their story. Otherwise he too had MU with suguna and left her in a certain track. I still remember he was almost got attracted or got close to another woman.

Jagya, no matter what, has always voiced his opinion, good or bad, right or wrong.. But he is vocal !!
I would anyday prefer a guy like Jagya who is rather impulsive and wrong many times, but at the same time values the ladies of his life, unlike Shiv who dreads to even speak upto his mom when Anandi is put under scanner.. Shiv reminds me of the mediocre mentality of 100000 men in India who have no guts to speak in fronta their mothers if they torture their wives mentally.. Dont like such cowardish attitude..

Spot on! I too would prefer a guy like Jagya rather than Shiv - even his way of romancing is just so wet!!!!🤢

he has supported jagya-sanchi marriage only after jagya said yes ! before that he did have reservations which were shot down by his sis & mom...so i think it was a practical thing to hear from jagya what he had to say about the rishta.

Sweta, let us agree to disagree on this for now 😊

Hahaha! Maligning Shyam to save Shiv?

My dear Shyam was never attracted to another woman though he visited one by chance when he went to Jaipur. He had no attractions or flings.

He did not desert Sugna. And even when he was upset, he never gave insulting cold treatment to Singhs.

Shiv has not asked for breaking up with Anandi. But he has been silent to threats of Ira that she will give dukh to Anandi!

Jagya has at least often supported his woman in public. Shiv used to defend only at home. Now he has stopped even that.

And in precap giving veiled dharam-sankat type EB talks to Anandi that she'll have to prove husband wrong.

Mom talks about in laws and parents. Shiv talks of proving husband wrong.

Wah!
