But Elli has a language barrier and from day one they have been pulling her leg. So much for them being hospitable Indians and putting their best foot forward.

So what about a person who is for instance Down syndrome or such? Would it be justified to treat them like that because they are giving a 'dumb vibe'. Wrong is wrong. It's not the victims fault.

Gauhar is tye only women who i feel CAN and DOES stand up for her self , and with a lot of respect to the person she is proving her point to!
I love how gauhat speaks up, she speaks so maturely and respectively!

I wish Elli could have done the same! But since Elli is sort of new to india, she is also scared of armaan's loud voice, she didnt take a stand! But she did try! When she said about thappar marungi, Armaan should have backed up

To,

Bigg Boss Production House and Colors Viacom 18

India

Subject: Armaan's and Pratyusha's behavior and comments on Elizabeth in episode telecasted on 20th September 2013.

Dear Sir,

I am compelled to write this letter to you after seeing no action from your side to an instance of grave nature that transpired in the house on 19th-20th September 2013.

I am sure, you are well aware of the crisis with respect to women safety and basic respect that this country is facing. In this context, if a National TV channel, with the power to impact masses, chooses not to take a stand or worse shows support to women abuse , then I do not know what hope is there for the society!

I am referring to the eve teasing incident where Elizabeth was targeted by Arman and Pratyusha.

Before I raise the issues, I state the facts as were shown on TV and Live Feed:

  • Arman and Pratyusha continued passing comments (in entirely bad taste) despite Elizabeth constantly asking them, requesting them to not do so.

a. Armaan: " Bikini pehan kar Yoga karo na" ( "Do yoga wearing a bikini")

b. Pratyusha: " Accha tumhe attention chahiye, chalo ise check out karein... Upar se neeche tak" ( " Oh do you want attention?! (To Arman) Let's check her out from top to bottom)... ( followed by real bad stares by both of them enough to make any woman uncomfortable)

c. Arman: "ChamakChallo" ( accompanied with lusty facial expressions)

  • Elizabeth's nicely requesting them to stop with the lecherous comments was labeled as "participation". House mates termed that as her enjoying' the comments just because she was politely refusing!
  • When she finally realized that these two will not stop, she got a little firm and what did she get to hear in return?! - "Pappi lunga nahi to kapde phaad dunga!" ( Either I will kiss you or I will tear your clothes)

  • Moreover, Housemates as Pratyusha and Kamya supported Arman in all of this!!! Infact, Pratyusha instigated Arman and egged him on.
  • And lastly, when Elizabeth did trust her so called friend and told Pratyusha how improper the behavior is, the friend' (pratyusha) in question actually put the blame on Elizabeth herself????

a. Pratyusha's reasoning being, that just because Arman is older, Eli had no right to say that she could slap him??? She had no right to ask Arman to stop! Just because Arman is older he had the right to pass those comments on her!

b. She went as far as saying that( after multiple times that Eli asked them to stop and they ignored her pleas) Eli saying she will slap Arman makes her deserving of lewd comments??

  • The entire story was twisted when told to other 12 housemates. The real lewd comments were never revealed. Everything was made out to be Elizabeth's fault just because she was smiling, they thought she liked it???? (The woman was smiling and requesting " Please stop it. Do not say this. I don't like it. Why are you doing this?" - does that sound like she was enjoying it???)

a. Arman went on to say that "Main kuch karne waala thodi tha, bas kaha hi to tha" ( As if I was actually going to do something to her, I merely passed the comments")

b. Except for Gauhar and Sangram, NOONE raised a voice against this...not even Bigg Boss'.

  • Pratyusha never apologized and Arman said sorry only because he was told that if he does that it would be favour on all to move on.

  • And to top it all, Arman called Elizabeth's plight a TRP gimmick!!! With other housemates ( Rajat and others) laughing and agreeing.

  • At the end of it, what impression did we leave at Elizabeth - " You think I am easy target because I am a foreigner. You think we girls are easy. He would never do this to you because you are Indian." (Elizabeth telling Pratyusha) - AND Can I blame her for thinking this???.. NO!

When this country is facing the highest stats in terms of women abuse on a daily basis, here is the woman, who played the iconic character of Balika Vadhu, supporting eve teasing.

Not just supporting but actually egging on the man to do this and that too to a foreign guest to our country?

It seems Ms. Banerjee is completely oblivious to what a woman's respect is- she may ask any girl who has to face these lecherous comments, lusty stares scanning her body piercing through her clothes, those misplaced touches' in day to day life, constant comments on how she dresses, a constant endeavor to control her life and cage her.

As a viewer, I am appalled to see how this situation is handled and as a woman I am disgusted to see so called celebrities supporting such a behavior. And I am highly disappointed in such a big channel and production house to not take any action against this cheapness.

What message are we trying to send to those impressionable minds??

  • Add another example justifying all those blogs by foreign students on how they were made uncomfortable in India every single second of their stay by the Indian men?

  • With a woman (Ms. Banerjee) saying on National TV, that a woman MUST not raise her voice against abuse?

  • With a woman supporting this lusty behavior and not be reprimanded- not once!!!

  • The man doing all this and not reprimanded - Not once!!!

  • Celebs do it, and get away with it?

  • Celebs do it...and see we don't mind it. People out there, feel free to harass any girl you see on road??

  • When a woman says "Don't do it"...she means "Do it"? - therefore next time you feel free to?

What are we trying to say by not raising voice against this? By not pointing out that this was all wrong and is not a way to deal with a woman.

Arman and Pratyusha were so cheap that they made Elizabeth cry buckets and feel disgusted.

I understand the format of Bigg Boss. People fight, they abuse, but sexual abuse is worst of its kind. All TRP drama' has to be within the gamut of laws. But I implore you to not encourage serious issues as eve teasing on your esteemed show.

As a viewer, I consider this a very serious offence.

I expect Colors and Bigg Boss to atleast reprimand Arman and Pratyusha for this.

As a viewer, I want to see Mr. Salman Khan, who is an icon, set an example by blasting these two off on TV and send the message out that this behavior is wrong.

I also strongly feel that only words are not enough. We as a society have passed that stage. I would request you to nominate Pratyusha and Arman by default to convey ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY against eve teasing.

Colors channel has always established itself as the channel of today, that has the intentions to shape the RIGHT' tomorrow. All your shows are highly inspiring that have been women centric and all your characters are strong women.

Therefore, I have confidence in you that you would take an action against this eve teasing incident and help this society to set an example that woman abuse in any form is totally UNACCEPTABLE.

With hopes and confidence in you

An ardent viewer and believer in ethics of your channel.

Need to cut down on this a bit..suggestions welcome..

The plan:

1. People who are on twitter, or on colors website, or FB site of Bigg Boss- please post

" Eve teasing by Arman and Pratyusha is a grave incident. Colors/Bigg Boss, expect you to take an action. Trust you to take an action. Please set an example by not supporting the eve teasers."

Please drop if possible only a one liner mail to colors. You will get the contact us section on their official site.

Please people, do it.

Atleast salman should bash Arman and Pratyusha really bad. We dont want a woman to have the impression that " foreigners are considered to be 'easy' girls"...and we definitely dont want the message to be sent out that politness means invitation to do things...😡

totally disgusted by this behaviour and pratyusha has bamboozled me!
i use to like her ofcourse due to her show but never expected her to side with that creep.as a women and human she should have stood up to that men and supported elli but seriously disappointed by her behavior too.she has really lost respect.
it's all in the mind and if u can't change ur mentality nothing will change in the country.
