Chapter 2:
Manpreet: Blessed Jas, kissed her on the forehead.. you look so beautiful! Your in-laws are lucky to have you as their DIL.. I know you would be a wonderful bahu to them just like Bani is to us!' She had tears in her eyes as she said these words and stepped aside. Jas politely accepted her complements😊.
Jas looked at Rajji: Rajji jiji, you came😃! Jiju also came na? And what about.. about..😳' she stammered and her cheeks started turning pink and she was heavily blushing!
Rajji: Hugged Jas and said yes, Soham came and.. and.. Vikas😉? They will be here shortly! So you have already started to worry about Vikas!😲😆' she teased her. Jas's cheeks turned pink at Rajji's words as she tried to hide her smiling face from Rajji😳.
Manpreet on her way out, saw Desho was alone in the kitchen and went to greet her. Desho was pleasantly surprised to see Manpreet and greeted her warmly😊. After the initial greetings..
Manpreet: Deshoji, I have to speak to you about something.. its kind of urgent! But I am not sure if this is the right time with all the engagement preparations going on. May be I should talk to you after the function.😕' She said hesitantly.
Desho: no no Manpreetji, please tell me what you want to talk about..' Desho was very scared about Bani as she had a bad dream about her couple of nights ago.. so, she was eager to talk to Manpreet too. She wanted to know as much information as possible about Bani from Manpreet because Bani was not talking to her eversince she came home from her sasural. Infact everyone in the house were boycotting Desho and giving her silent treatment because of the way she destroyed Rajji and Soham's lives by cheating them into marrying each other. Bani also told her before that she would not be forgiven until Rajji herself forgives her first.
Manpreet: Deshoji, the thing is we have an estate in Chandigarh which we are planning to sell. And for that, we have decided to go to Chandigarh and stay there for a while and slowly look at the buyers first hand and sell the estate without any hurry😔'
Desho: So you want to temporarily move to Chandigarh? So Bani will be much far away from us now?..' she paused for a while and continued, we thought she would be near to us at least until Parmeet took her to Canada.. but looks like we have to get used to her being away from now itself.. but thats ok Manpreetji.. a girl has to go away from her parents after marriage.. as long as she is in her sasural and with you all, she will be fine and happy..' she said with a saddened face.
Manpreet: cut off Desho and said, its not that Deshoji.. I know Bani would be going to Canada soon.. I don't want her to miss you all from now itself.. I want her to spend as much time with you all as possible.. with Jas's wedding coming up, it will be difficult for Bani to participate in the wedding preparations if she came with us to Chandigarh.. so, I wanted to ask you to let Bani stay with you for a while😭..' she turned her teary face away from Desho.
Desho: Unaware of the actual truth, Manpreetji, truly our Bani is blessed to have you as her in-laws who care so much about her😃! We would all love for Bani to stay with us till you came back or till she leaves for Canada. But Bani is going to miss you all very much.. eversince she came from your house, she has been dull.. I was wondering what the matter could be.. I think she has suspected this as you packed most of her clothes and things. But Manpreetji, Parmeet does not seem to be calling Bani much these days.. do you think something is the matter between the two?! I only saw her speak to Parmeet once or twice since she came back!' she asked with concern in her voice.
Manpreet: Realizing that Bani did not tell her parents that Parmeet had stopped calling her for the past several days, said Parmeet usually calls Bani late at night as it is morning for them.. he is very busy with his work now.. so, he only finds time to call sometime after midnight when most of us are asleep.. please don't worry about that Deshoji🤔' she lied with her back to Desho..
Just then Bani came in: Mummyji, the groom and his parents have arrived..' she announced, please come😃..'
Everyone went out and received the groom's side. All the elders from both sides sat down to talk. While Bani stood with a smile beside her MIL, Rajji was running around with water and refreshments for Vikas and his family members.
Soham standing at a distance in a corner looked at Bani and thought, Bani looks really happy that her MIL has come to attend the function.. I hope she always keeps smiling and Parmeet takes her with him soon so she wouldn't be lonely at times like these!😕' Just then his vision of Bani was interrupted by Rajji coming in with a tray of glasses containing soft drinks! There were many glasses on the tray and she was balancing them carefully. Soham instinctively moved from his place and went towards Rajji.. he took the tray from her😳.. she looked up at him surprised😲.. he did not look straight at her and was smiling at Vikas's mother who was about to take a glass from the tray. He could see from the corner of his eyes that Rajji was staring at him😆..
Soham: I will hold the tray.. you give the glasses..' he said looking at her and nodding😉. Soham did not know why he was doing this! He had been seeing Rajji working non-stop in his house because of buaji's challenges but never once felt the need to help her out😕! Was it because he was scared that if he helped her and buaji found out, she would fail Rajji?.. because that was one of the conditions of buaji's tests that Rajji was not to take ANYONE's help. But he always felt that buaji was being unfair with her tests to Rajji. Though he wanted to object several times he did not because in a way he thought Rajji would give up and leave him. He wanted her to be happy and he always felt that he couldn't give her any happiness as a husband. So may be buaji's crazy tests and challenges would do the trick, he thought and stayed silent. But Rajji never gave up! She always came out with flying colors winning every single challenge of buaji!⭐️
Rajji initially felt awkward that Soham would do such a thing but she did not say anything and started giving the glasses to everyone😕. There was some commotion in both Soham and Rajji's hearts as they did everything together that afternoon😳! Soham came into the kitchen with Rajji and helped her arrange the plates for refreshments and took them out while Rajji served each of them. They both were working together for the first time!👏 Though they were not talking much, they shared many glances and unspoken words. Nirvail, Binder, BG, Desho, Bani, Manpreet had all noticed this and in their hearts blessed them to be always happy with each other😊. Vikas's daadi was the one to comment..
Vikas's Daadi: Rajji, your husband cannot leave you alone even for a second! He cannot see you work alone and look how sweetly he is helping you! How well you both understand each other! You both are made for each other! Bless you both with a lot of happiness and may God's grace be always showered upon you two!😃' she blessed them while both Soham and Rajji looked at each other and their eyes met once again conveying something new - feelings they couldn't explain but which were definitely there😳😳!
Soham was lost in thought while helping Rajji: What am I doing? Why am I not able to stop myself from helping her? What is this strange feeling I had this morning?.. why was I looking at Rajji even after trying so hard not to? Why is she dominating my thoughts so much? First I wanted her out of my house and out of my life.. then I wanted to hurt her so she would leave.. these days I am not able to see her suffer because of buaji.. let alone hurt her intentionally, now I am not even able to let her even serve these people on her own! What is happening to me? Why is she affecting me and my behavior towards her so much?!😕😕
Soon Jas was brought out and made to sit beside Vikas and they exchanged rings. Both Jas and Vikas looked beautiful and happy. They stole a million glances throughout the ceremony. Both the bride's side and groom's side exchanged sweets and gifts and the photographer clicked as many pictures as he could of the bride and groom and everyone else present for the function!😃 After the ceremony was over, Jas and Vikas were sent to the terrace to spend some alone time and get to know each other.😳
