'Mehram' unveils at Planet M

On January 23, the Planet M outlet at CST has turned in to a galaxy of stars as celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Johnny Lever, Kailash Kher, Avatar Gill and many others had gathered there to launch the debut album of Meenal Jain, the Indian Idol 2 finalist.

Javed Akhtar, Kailash Kher and Johnny Lever launched the album amidst much fanfare, which was released under the Times Music banner. Avadhoot Gupte, Rames Talwar, Kuldip Singh, Indrajeet Sachdev, Rajan Kapur, Jaswinder Singh, Raman Kumar, Manohar Rai, Krishna Kalle Rai also graced the event.

On this occasion, Meenal sang the title track from her album and enthralled the audience present. "This album has a good mix of Sufiana music and soft rock. The support of my parents and my guruji, Manohar Rai made this album possible," tells Meenal.

Mehram is an attempt to present Sufi music with a contemporary soul. The album has been composed and mixed aesthetically by Harpreet Singh and rendered by Meenal. This album talks about a lover who is beyond the realm of this world, a lover whom you can love but cannot posses. "It is a romantic music album that is largely based on poetry. I believe Sufism is all about romance that can be with God or with your beloved or anyone for that matter and the melodious composition of this album is an attempt to present that," says Mehram's music director, Harpreet Singh. Harpreet also believes that this music album is going to be a treat for the music listeners.
