Get real
Reality TV is big news in the real world and there's been major debate on what passes for 'quality entertainment'. If you ask me, reality TV is still just TV and shouldn't be taken too seriously. So for fun, here are the reality shows Mumbai's celebs love and lash!
Dino Morea: I like The Amazing Race, it's adventurous, something I'd like to do. I don't think any reality shows are nonsense, just that some are better than others.
Cyrus Sahukar: I love The Apprentice, American Idol, Roadies and My Restaurant Rules. Can't stand that show with two chefs having a potato peeling competition and some of the dating shows annoy me!
Shveta Salve: I loved my show Jhalak Dhikhhla Jaa, apart from that The Apprentice and American Idol. I think the Big Brothers and Bosses are totally nuts.
Gul Panag: I don't find reality shows interesting.
Sophie Chaudry: I love American Idol because of Simon Cowell and the singing. I am also hooked onto Roadies. (Should I be totally cheeky and say I don't like Fame X?!) Otherwise, it would be Temptation Island — height of tackiness.
Gautam Singhania: My life is real! That's all that matters.
Nikhil Chinappa: I only watch Roadies, I picked that bunch and kinda know what's going on inside their heads.
Amrita Arora: I like watching Bigg Boss. I think we all satisfy a little of our voyeuristic nature…
Kim Jagtiani: The Amazing Race! I've also loved The Contender, American Idol, Pop Stars, Hell's Kitchen and The Apprentice. Shows like Bigg Boss/Big Brother are a waste of precious time.
Anusha Dandekar: I like Roadies because it's got lots of drama and the contestants are real people with attitude. Ranvijay does a super job!
Chhaya Momaya: Bigg Boss is getting very monotonous.
Anaita Shroff- Adajania: I love Bigg Boss! I'm a real sucker for reality shows and anything live. I guess it's their unpredictable nature. Though I really can't tolerate the car chase and burglar watch ones.
Marc Robinson: I love American Idol — judges, real music talent and results not being fudged… The worst is Roadies, because they use bad language and are major wannabees. The show looks rigged and the contestants try too hard. I watched it by mistake once, never again!
Homi Adajania: My absolute favourite is Hell's Kitchen. The worst would be those police chase ones, which are so boring I'd rather veg on tele-shopping or God TV!
Raveena Tandon: I've been watching Bigg Boss and Roadies. Reality shows are fine as long as they don't encourage the regressive and degrading behaviour of some participants and make them into role models for the impressionable. Eg: An item girl endorsing the fact that she loves to fart! Disgusting!
Sunny Sara: I like Bigg Boss because it's interesting to see a person like Carol, who didn't know a word of Hindi now speaking fluently. Must say I am proud of her!
