Well-wishers still mourn the loss of Jiah Khan, who tragically ended her life by hanging in her Juhu Apartment on June 3rd. This lead to a series of events including the arrest of Jiah's boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi on charges of abetting Jiah's suicide.
Sooraj is now out on bail as the High Court declared him not guilty. In this interview to TOI, Sooraj mentions that contrary to public belief, he still loves Nafisa (Jiah) Khan.
He says, "I actually don't mind my name being associated with Nafisa for the rest of my life because I've loved her that much. I don't know what people think or say about me, but inside my heart, I know that I've not done anything wrong. She was the most special person to me in my entire life. I don't think I can meet a person like her. If people want to associate me with Nafisa, I do not mind. It reminds me of her every time someone takes her name in front of me."
He adds, "Jail did not bother me at all, neither did police interrogation. My heart was somewhere else. My heart was with Nafisa. I felt really bad that I couldn't see her again. "
Sooraj is now back to form as he is working towards his debut film with mentor Salman Khan. On the other hand, Jiah's mom Rabbiya Khan continues her battle against Sooraj, and the hate tweets...
Such a terrible tragedy, sigh!
