A girl sitting in a dark room constantly playing with the switch of the bedside lamp with one hand and a photo frame in the other lost in her own world.Her flawless skin glowing when the light coming from the moon was reflected back by her tear stained face.She looked at her wedding photo and more tears filled her eyes.God knows how long she had been crying but her eyes refused to stop filling up themselves with fresh tears as the earlier ones dried away trying to release the pain that her heart held on to since the last four years.The more she tried to suppress it the more it hurt.The memories of that fateful night never left her.The intensity of pain increasing each time she tried to forget it.That night which was supposed to be the best in her life had turned out the way she would have never imagined in her wildest dreams.It was exactly opposite to what she had thought to such an extent that she had to face its consequence each day for these four years.Her mind once again drifted back to the memory even after the millionth refusal of her heart.
FLASHBACK:
Sharon sitting on the beautifully decorated bed adorned in her wedding lehenga that was spread around her.Her face covered by a vail. Ornaments adding to the beauty of the angel, whose cheeks were plastered with blush head slightly down and eyes constantly looking at the door waiting for her husband, the love of her life Swayam Shekhawat to come and make her his.Finally she saw him entering and closed her eyes to calm down her rapid heartbeat.Her eyes flung open when she heard the door being closed with a loud bang making her shiver in fear.She moved her vail covering her face and saw him looking at her with blood shot eyes.The anger and hatred radiating from his eyes made it hard for her to breath. "Very happy u should be today, right wifey?"he snapped.She didn't move an inch but kept staring at him in shock. "Actually how stupid of me to ask that?Ofcourse you will be happy'finally u got what u wanted!!!Ur Mrs. Sharon Swayam Shekhawat now.Wife of The Swayam Shekhawat."he spat while she was still staring at him as tears filled her eyes. "So what if u got all these after destroying the life of two people?So what if ur husband is one of them?Who cares?Afterall u got what u wanted?"he said looking at her.Tears finally started flowing from her eyes. "Hey stop showing ur fake emotions u selfish woman.No one's gonna fall for them.How can u cry after destroying my whole life,my love , all my dreams'".Sharon, "swayam what is wrong? Y r u talking like this?This marriage happened with ur wish right?Then.."Swayam didn't let her finish, "Wish?My wish?Ofcourse not'what were u thinking Sharon?That I love u'Never will I love u.I only love my priya.God know how she is..What she must be going through.And its all because of u and ur rich dad who had some great partnership deal to do with my dad for which I was forced to marry u.What was ur dad thinking?That he'll force this marriage on me nd I'll keep u very happy",he said in a sarcastic tone. "Get ready Miss Sharon Rai Prakash'the rest of ur life is gonna be worse than hell"he spat the last line and walked out of the room fuming.

He entered the room fuming,threw his bag on the bed which almost hit her and sat on the couch with a thud.He held his head in his palms and pulled his hair in frustration.Looking at his condition she filled a glass with water and held it near him, "Please drink some water.U'll feel better."she offered.He looked at her and then the glass and pushed her hand making the glass break into pieces and yelled, "Do hell with ur water?"She gasped at first but then calmed herself as she was used to even worse behaviour from him in all these years.She sat next to him and asked, "What happened swayam?"He didn't look at her but replied calmly this time, "I saw her today.With her husband and child.It could have been me with her if u weren't in my life.Its its all because of u .Y did u do this to me Sharon?"He looked at her with tear filled eyes.Her heart tore apart looking at his tears.In all these years she had faced his anger, taunts,insults,even curses.But never had she seen him crying.Her own eyes filled with tears as she kept looking at him.The first time in all these years he was looking baack at her, for the first time he noticed her tears.Abruptly he got up and walked away with full speed.Looking at his condition she was afraid he would hurt himself, so she quickly ran behind him.
He was walking on the road with full speed not caring about the vehicles or the heavy rain.He heard her shouting from behind him, "Swayam please stop.U'll hurt urself." He simply walked without stopping until he heard the sound of a bang followed by a loud scream.He turned around to find Sharon lying on the road with a pool of blood surrounding her.He immediately ran to her and placed her head in his lap shouting her name.Her eye lids slightly opened and she slowly lifted her hand to touch his cheeks, "I'm sorry for hurting u so much swayam.Please forgive me.I'..really'.love'.u"she closed her eyes while her hand on his cheek fell hitting the hard road. He somehow took her to the hospital.He called up rey, his best friend while the doctors were moving continuously in and out of the operation theatre.
Rey came rushing to the hospital and found swayam walking from one end to other end of the corridor completely tensed.He walked up to him.Swayam immediately hugged him tears flowing from his eyes, "rey'who'sharon'doctor has said that she's very critical'.and'and'there r very less chances of her living."and hugged him tighter.Rey broke the hug and stood facing him, "So what swayam? How does it even matter to u?I don't understand y did u even bring her to the hospital? U could have let her die there? No one would know what happened and u would be free from her'..FOREVER!!!"he said stressing the word forever.Swayam was shocked to hear this from rey, "What r u saying rey?How can I let her die? She's my WIFE!!!"he yelled.
Rey, "wife? Wow dats something new!!! Since when did u start considering her as ur wife?Do u remember she's the woman who destroyed ur life.She took away ur love from u.In these four years u have only wished for her to get out of ur life."
Swayam: That doesn't mean I want her to die.I'm a human afterall.I cant let her die.
Rey:Really swayam? U didn't care even once in these 4years.U didn't care when she cut her finger,when she burnt her hand while cooking for u.When she waited for days just to get one glimpse of u.U didn't care when she stayed hungry till late night waiting for u.U didn't care when she became ill due to crying.U didn't care even for once before hurting her, insulting her millions of times.And now ur telling dat u cant let her die? She cant die anymore swayam. You have already killed her."
Swayam: STOP. JUST STOP REY.PLEASE STOP., he cried out.
Rey: "You can shut me up swayam but you cant change the fact.The fact is that you are the one who destroyed her life.She could have left you long back, she did not have any reason to bare ur rude behaviour.But she did just because she loves you. You say you love priya right?That girl got married within one week of ur wedding and now she has a child.She's already moved on.You really think she loved u?Its what Sharon did for u in all these years that's called love swayam.Even after u treated her like a garbage, she still prayed for u'Don't try to save her swayam.She deserves all this for loving u so much".He walked away from there.
Swayam on the other hand was feeling breathless out of guilt.He sat down on a chair realizing what damage he had done.Though what rey said hurt him a lot but he knew it was true.He started remembering all the times that he had hurt her.Starting from the night of their marriage till tonight he had only hurt her.But she never complained.She shut herself up in a room and cried but never shared her pain with anyone. "Oh god I feel so ashamed,so cheap.I'm sorry Sharon.I'm really really sorry.Please don't go Sharon.God please please save my Sharon.No no'Sharon you cant leave me'"he was constantly praying when the doctor came out of the OT.He ran to the doctor, "Mr. Shekhawat ur wife is out of danger now.You can go see her.She be conscious in some time."Swayam ran to the ward immediately .He saw her eyes closed, her face pale.He felt his heart twisting at the sight.He sat next to her and held her hand in his and with the other he caressed her hair.She slowly opened her eyes after sometime.The first thing she saw was him.He was smiling at her.She could not believe that he was sitting in front of her'smiling.She forwarded her hand and touched his cheek to find out if he was real.He held her palm and kissed it.She smiled.This was the first time he saw her smile as he had always given her tears.How ruthless he had been to do that to this angel,he thought.When his expressions changed She realized that he was real and tried to sit up.He held her in his arms and made her sit.By now she was utterly confused by his changed behviour.Sharon, "Why did u save me swayam?You didn't have to'"Swayam who was already facing a guilt trip felt as if a knife pierced through his heart.Swayam, "pls don't say that..."Sharon looked down, "There's no value left for my life swayam'.But still thank u'.for saving my meaningless life".He cupped her face and made her face him, "Never say that again Sharon.Ur very very precious and I'll never let anything happen to u.I know my sorry cannot heal the wounds that I have given to you.But I promise u to heal it with my love.Right from this moment ur my priced possession.I promise to never let that beautiful smile of urs fade."he said.Her smile widened and that was enough sight to make him fall in love with her.He hugged her tightly. He held her in his embrace and promised to never let go .Promising himself to shower her with all the love suppressed in his heart.
"I wonder how many people don't get the one they want, but end up with the one they're supposed to be with."
