There is a disconnection - The descent of Jagya was gradual and the basis for that charcter was provided right from childhood how he has a habit of falling for all things glitter. So him falling for Gauri was not surprising. He also has been shown to be ashamed of his background which led to his lying about his parents and him not wanting to be in a village. This is way before he met Gauri.
After he met Gauri his weak selfish nature led him to do all the things that he did.So there was a connection.
After leaving Gauri all of a sudden he wanted Anandi and decided to get her back then all of a sudden he realised he is not worthy of Anandi
And now he gives lectures to Ganga and Sanchi about how they should conduct their lives how they should fight for their rights.
He has not been shown to be bothered about what all things he has done to Anandi, Gauri and his parents. If a persone has changed the way he behaves and thinks how is that he is not shown to be troubled by his past?
I do not think they have shown him to be trouled by his past.No normal human being forgets all his her wrong deeds even if he/she repents.
They only show him doing a lot of good deeds to show that he has changed.
But what they have shown so far is not convincing enough to say that he is paying for what he has done nor is it enough to believe that his past acts trouble him.
Any way when the going is good he has been good.I believe that he has changed only when he counters Gauri's negativity with his newly acquired positivity.
So far all that he has done is that he has come back and works in the village hospital and thinks that is a great way of life and the second thing he just got rid of Gauri that is not enough to make him look good in my opinion.
It does not reallly wipe away all the things that he has done to Anandi before he left her and all the things that he did to get her back.He has not really been punished for this.He only cries over the loss of Anandi not once does he think about how much pain he caused her with her behaviour not once does he wonder what trouble she has undergone because of his cruel rejection.
This aspect of it has not been shown and unless he is shown to be paying for these mistakes and being bothered about these things his redemption remains hollow.
If you choose to believe that he has changed that is your perception.May be some of us do feel that he has not paid enough for his mistakes and nor he is really bothered with all the acts that he has done and all the good things he is doing right now do not really balance all the things that he has done.
