Mr India and Mr International Aryan Vaid is not only a leading model but a hearty food lover and a hotel management graduate. Aryan started out as an actor, but became a model by default when he captured the attention of the modelling world with his intense eyes, muscled body and very prominent washboard-like abs. But Bollywood hasn't lost all as yet, because Aryan has not quit acting completely.
Aryan is very eloquent about the festival of Rakhi. "I have three sisters. One lives in the US and the other two are in Mumbai. The festival of Raksha Bandhan is still pretty much a celebration in our family. We meet in the morning. Either they come to my house or I go over to their place. Actually, it is always the brother who is supposed to visit the sister's house. But I get lazy sometimes. When my sisters tie Rakhis, as per the tradition, I touch their feet (that includes my younger sister as well)."
"Except on one occasion, I have always been in Mumbai on Raksha Bandhan. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else on that day. Raksha Bandhan really means a lot to me. The symbolic rituals signify the bond between the brother and sister. When we were younger, it was so much fun since we are almost in the same age bracket. When we were very young, I recall enjoying the day of Rakhi as a holiday."
"It sounds clichd, but I do love my sisters very much. I am thankful to God that I have three sisters. They have given me a lot. And I am thoroughly pampered. I have observed that women always have these mysterious savings that tumble out when one needs them. As a kid I was always short of money. I would borrow money from my sisters and of course never return. I still owe my youngest sister a small amount. And she keeps reminding me about it. I wish I hadn't grown up. Those were such innocent years. We could feel for each other without any other worry. When one becomes supporter from being a supported (dependent), life gets complex. But no point complaining."
