Ragini Shetty's family sent 50,000 SMS-es and spent Rs 1.5 lakh on 'Eviction Bill'

Sony's spy Ragini Shetty alias Abhijatha Umesh has been evicted from Big Boss. The 24-years-old contestant says that life wasn't easy for her. ""I felt like an alien in that house. Initially, I couldn't relate to anyone of them. Their high handed behaviour and insecurities was damn difficult to put up with," purred a sour Ragini. Being the spy in the family hampered her relationships with other inmates. "I'd cry every night. First, it was the burden of hiding my real identity from them and then it was their attitude towards me that hurt me immensely." She feels that the only two people who were genuinely fond of her were Kashmera Shah and Deepak Tijori. "Others would make fun of me and put me down at every given opportunity. I'd often feel lonely," she admits.

On learning about her daughters' condition, Ragini's mother decided to get her out of the house. "I just had a chat with my mother and she informed me that she along with my other family members sent almost 50,000 votes to get me evicted." Being hired by the channel, Sony television paid the bills of Ragini's family. "I wouldn't know about that but I know for sure that Sony has put up my family in a flat in Lokhandwala, which I've yet to see." The 50,000 SMS-es to get their daughter evicted from the house cost approximately 1.5 Lakh (@ Rs. 3 per SMS). A source says that the whopping 'eviction bill' was paid by the channel. The question is, why'd Sony pay to get their own contestant evicted from their show? We spoke to Creative Head Sony Sandip Sickand on the issue. "I've no idea about who paid the bill of Ragini's family. I think the right person to answer this would be Endemol, the production firm handling Bigg Boss" About evicting their own contestant he says: "Once Ragini stepped in the house she was like just another contestant. She is out of the show now due to more votes and we at Sony have no say in that matter. It was decision made by public through SMS-es." With this controversial eviction behind her, Ragini is now is looking forward to making a career in films. "Bigg Boss gave me the platform. Now a lot will depend on my luck and destiny. I hope the future has a lot in store for me."
