Indian music scenario is undergoing changes everyday. Initially it was only Hindi film music that ruled the roost. Gradually Indi-pop music made its foray into the scene and with upbeat marketing grabbed a great share of audience. Following this the remix trend also flooded the market for sometime. But with the emergence of lounge and fusion music, which is most preferred now, remix is also on the verge of disappearing. Lapped with Indian classical elements, the music is surely catching the flights of the people. And making the most out of the new wave is the admired santoor player Rahul Sharma.

Being experimental and diverse, his albums are being appreciated by music lovers from all quarters. He has released almost a dozen albums and the volumes very well point out at the magnamity of his popularity. 'Time Traveler' was instant success. Another good album 'White' followed which was loved by experts of experimental music. He has released almost four albums in the last couple of months – 'H2O', 'Maya', 'Ladakh' and 'Interface'. All the albums have a good share of success at the stands. Though all of them are santoor albums by Rahul Sharma, his experimental spree and presenting something different every time, laced with distinct flavor is what is making people enjoy treating themselves with. Rahul Sharma is on his way to change the way santoor is heard and played and also bring a transformation in the Indian musical scene!

His other albums are good! Dolly. I have posted a couple if you would like to check them out. I like his instrumentals , new age music style. Maya was too Techno for my taste. Dont get me wrong haha i like techno... but i expect classical from a classical singer not rap.. know what i mean... 😉

I agree with you 100% hehe but you see. Some people are brilliant in 1 genre and uummm not so much so in others hahah. So leave the rapping to the rappers.. haha thats what i say 😉 We need more new age artists anyways. I can count my favourites in 1 hand as for techno artists they are a dime a dozen 😆😆😆

Yes too techno.... Rest others are good. In Maya he used too many instruments and there is no proper balance somehow. When it's maestro's like Rahul you expect a fusion that some some classical base. And yes soothing... But Maya lacks both.

Time Traveler is a unique musical interpretation of the mysterious "Time Tracel" theory from a musician's point of view. In this album, the young & talented Santoor maestro Rahul Sharma, takes the listener through a musical journey, which is beyond time, using the Santoor in a new age avatar and with various ambient sounds. The nine brilliant tracks featured in the album encapsulate the joy, the ecstast, the mystery and the various stages and experiences in a musician's life.
