Mitwa Ka Ishq on Tumblr did a post on this! She is Muslim herself and said in her experience, it's not that common for the girl to put a ring on the guy's finger, usually it's just the girl who gets to wear the ring, though you can both exchange rings if you want. So Zoya isn't going to put a ring on Asad.

yeah .. engagement should be from both sides .. :) .. they should show some segments like they informed zoya's sisters ...

GUYS dont forget about the spoiler news which states that Dilshad is going to ask Tannu to take family photograph.. So it means scene is going to continue.. Lets hope that Zoya will put ring on his finger..
