Firstly wanted to apologise that its taken so long to update the post in reporting the events of Meet & Greet with Maanvi & Viraat but alas it has been a very busy week with little time to do anything- not enough hours in the day & all that – excuses/ excuses.
The event was organised by Star Plus & had been on the cards for a while with earlier visits by this pair having been postponed. I must say that I am so glad that I am now officially part of the SP Forum. As soon as I got there I was "tagged" & asked to stand in queue with fellow SP attendees so that we would be allowed to sit in front row on VIP seats!!!
Firstly they came out surrounded by body guards (not necessary as the crowd which mostly consisted of very young girls were really well behaved). They walked down in between the fans- filmed & they went outside – I think they were supporting the local diabetes charity as well. There were fans outside as well.
After about 30 minutes they came back in & they walked amongst the fans & had photos took-shook hands & hugged etc. After this they were whipped away again –after which the fans approx.. 150 were allowed to sit in the auditorium where they could ask questions etc & of course there the STARLITE programme which represents local events would be filmed.
First impressions – they look really small !! Honestly much smaller in stature compared to on screen. You would expect Nia to look like that but Kushal was very small as well. His mannerisms & expressions were the same as on-screen. He had quite a bit of make-up on – I think!! Anyway back to the interview….
When everyone was seated – we were told what would happen- we were to scream & clap & whoop for about 10 seconds or so before they came on stage & then after the interview –people from the audience would ask questions. The compere sat with them in the front. Nia was absolutely brilliant – Kushal was more reserved. She has such a charming personality & has some really sound views . She was really interesting & she looked really smart. Beautiful multi-coloured sari.
They were asked questions about the sets- what they did in between takes- the length of their working shifts- what they thought of London – what they thought of each other.
Kushal sang the theme song – not badly & he also danced with one of the girls from the audience but did so reservedly. One of the funniest moments was when one of the audience asked them to name 2 good things & 2 bad about each other. They took ages- she could notname anything at all – she sat & pondered & pondered & pondered & he said "she is good " she is bad".
When asked what they did in between he said that he slept & watched TV & he said that sleeping was his hobby & watching films. She liked doing her nails!! When asked about fav. Actors – he said Katrina Kaif & she named Pretty Zinta/Rani/ & she said that recent actresses had no substance. I liked her answer & she was absolutely right- as nowadays girls did not really show their acting prowess's but their bodies!!
People did not ask personal questions- am sorry to say – regards personal life or either of them leaving but you could see that they really had a good rapport & it was a pleasure to be there.
