The lull after the storm: Sai Deodhar

Actress Sai Deodhar aka Ananya had a funny experience on the sets of Ek Ladki Anjaani Si recently. The actress, after shooting a lullaby sequence, found that most of the crew members were asleep on the sets. Sai recalls, "We did not have an episode bank and were shooting back-to-back for 16-17 hours at a stretch for four days. The crew members were exhausted. Moreover, we were shooting at night. It was around 2.30 am, when we were shooting the lullaby sequence. As I finished the scene after an hour, I realised that most of the crew members have fallen asleep including the cameraman, sound recordist and the light man. Later they explained that the soothing lullaby that had made them fall asleep."

Sai further adds, "Shooting for such long hours is really not easy. Moreover, being the new Ananya, I always have to give my best shot to live up to the expectations of the audience, but that night, even I was feeling sleepy." Creative director, Misha Gautam says, "As Sai replaced Kanchi in the show, we wanted her to be there in most of the scenes, so that the audience gets used to her as Ananya. Since we did not have an episode bank, we were shooting day and night. I guess, everyone was tired, so they fell asleep."
