Khushi was angry, very angry in fact. Today marked the 4th year she and her Laad Governor had been in a relationship. And today was the first time as well he has entirely forgotten that. To top it all, he was not in Delhi so that she could shout at him or bang his head somewhere to remind him. She had not called him the entire day and it looked to her that the Rakshas has also forgotten that she existed. At the least, she was expecting a surprise from him but now that it was already night, all dreams of surprise were evaporated from her mindā¦
She looked at the pendulum. 22.30 It showed. Laad Governor has forgottenā¦.he will not come today! The Rakshas he is! Hpfffā¦but let him come to Delhi, I will show him the real Khushi Kumari Guptaā¦chodungi nahi main unhe!
She went to her kitchen; sleep running very far away from her. She knew that her Laad Governor was busy, perhaps this was why he forgot this important day, nevertheless she couldn't stop herself from feeling low. The only thing that would lighten her mood now would be Jalebis
After some 30 minutes a heap of jalebis was already prepared and she sat munching in the living room. That was when she heard a weird noise. Like the sound of someone walking around.
OMGā¦it's a thiefā¦what do I do nowā¦Think Khushi..Think! Arrey haanā¦cricket bat. She rushed to fetch the cricket bat which was always handy in such situation. She moved towards the direction of the noise, and realized that it was coming from her room. Aghast, she made her way there, tip-toeing along. She peeked into her room which she shared with her sister until the latter got married.
She noticed a man in black looking around restlessly. Even in the dark, she could recognize the lean and muscular figure of the man.
'Laad Governor,' she squealed and almost immediately felt his rough palms on her mouth, apparently keeping her shut. Still with his hands on her mouth, he switched on the lights. She was not at all surprised when he saw Khushi with her bat in her hand.
She must have thought it's a thief aur agayi mujhpe hamla karne ke liye, thought Arnav whilst rolling his eyes. He looked out and it appeared like nobody heard Khushi's shout so he closed the door, took the cricket bat and threw it on the bed.
Arnav: Khushi, are you ok?
Khushi: I amā¦but youā¦you were not in Delhi, right? So what are you doing here?
Arnav: I will answer that later, just change and we will go out.
Khushi: Out for what?
Arnav: Uhhā¦dinner?
Khushi: Are you crazy Laad Governor, it's nearly eleven!
Arnav: Okā¦how about ice-cream.
Khushi: hmmā¦ok(suspiciously)ā¦.I will change you go!
Arnav: Do I need to go?
He finished with a wink and soon realized that this wasn't the time for teasing her as she glared at him. He whispered a soft 'will be waiting for you in the car' and went out. Khushi changed in record time and made the way to his car. Her mood was a bit lightened after seeing Arnav. She was happy he came, even if it was at such an hour. She sat in the car in her casual clothes, because according to her they were going to the Ice-Cream parlor. Arnav started the car.
Khushi: Arnavji, what was the use of coming inside, I mean you could have called me andā¦
Arnav: I wanted to surprise you.
Khushi: But what if buaji saw youā¦sheā¦
Arnav: She didn't see me, so chill!
Khushi: Okā¦but you didn't sayā¦when you came here, you were supposed to come after 2 days, right?
Arnav: Sweetheart..Keep your questions for later please.
Khushi: Arrey, but where are you goingā¦the ice-cream parlor is on the other side!
Arnav: It's another parlor we are going to khushi.
Khushi: Ok!
***
It was after another 15 minutes only that they reached there. To Khushi, that place in no way looked like there would be an ice cream parlor around. It was more like a parking zone with no cars around. Still, she kept silent and trusted him to lead her on. Arnav descended from the car opened her door and once she was out, he asked;
Arnav: Do you trust me?
Khushi nodded without any hesitation. 'Great,' he replied back. He went behind her, took his hanky and blindfolded her.
Khushi: what are you doing Arnavji?
Arnav: Shhā¦you trust me nahā¦.so wait here and don't you dare take that handkerchief away.
Khushi: Fine Laad Governor!
Arnav smirked at her and made his way inside leaving behind a bewildered khushi. She waited for some time and then she heard her Arnavji's voice;
Arnav: Let's goā¦he held her hand and guided her.
Khushi: Arnavji, shall I remove this blindfold?
Arnav: Noā¦
That was it, she didn't ask any more questions and he didn't care to clear her confusion! Arnav opened the door and made Khushi enter in. He whispered 'you can open it now' and disappeared.
Khushi had already made a list of things she needed to berate him about;
1. Not being here on the anniversary.
2. Not caring to inform her of the above.
3. Not wishing her for their 4th year together.
4. Coming in her house like a thief.
5. Bringing her somewhere and leaving her alone.
(Play this song from now on..would be more effective!)
Im unable to upload it here. so here's the link for the YT clip-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zE1gBYVaVk
But she forgot all these when she removed the blindfold, she could only gasp at her surrounding! A roomā¦which was dimmed and bedecked with her favorite flowers- Pink roses. She walked along though flabbergasted, along the imaginary path created with pink balloons by both sides. On all the balloons, the 3 magical words were engraved-'I love you.' The ground was covered with glittering stars.
Khushi didn't know what she was feeling at all. Was it love for this perfect man, or admiration for what he did today, she didn't know. She just knew that he loved her much more that she would ever be able to love him.
She looked around suddenly realizing that her Arnavji wasn't there, when she saw him coming from the door she entered sometime ago. He had changed his clothes so that now he was in black tux. He was grinning at her and she couldn't stop herself from smiling at him.
She made no attempt to move towards him, it was like she was glued to the spot. The surprise and all was too much for her to absorb in so little time! He reached her in no time and surprised her when he kneeled down instead of hugging her. He offered her a bouquet of red roses which she took, before saying;
Arnav: Arnav Singh Raizada has never bowed his head in front of anybody, but today I kneel before you because you seriously deserve this Khushi. You deserve every respect from me coz if I'm here kneeling in front of you today it's because of youā¦.For you! I know I'm far away from being perfect and, but I know with you by my side life will be perfect for me and you as well. Yes, we will always fight like cats and dogs but at the end of the day, it will be worth it nah, when we will woo each other with jalebis or kisses!
Khushi wiped the tears that were rolling down continuously on her cheeks whilst Arnav continued;
Arnav: Today makes it 4 years we are together; and I know you thought I have forgotten but the business trip and all was fake, I was here itself and was planning all this. Khushiā¦.I love you a lotā¦.you know i'm not good with words nah...so say something!
Khushi (sobbing): Iā¦.d...don't knowā¦.what to say.
Arnav: Oh come Khushi, Ek romantic line hi boldeti! Fine main hi continue karta hoonā¦so yeahā¦i really don't want to spend any moment of my life without you sowould you mind making your name a little bit longer, you see it's too short for my liking!
Khushi held his shoulders and brought him up. She hugged him tightly showing all the love she had for him. Still crying she answered his question in a non-understand tone!
Khushi: I would love toā¦..*sniff **sniff*ā¦addā¦.*sniff*ā¦Singh Raizada to my name!
Arnavi smiled before he slipped a ring with a solitaire diamond in her fingers. He confessed his loved for her before he moved close for a kiss.ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..
And

Buaji: Sanka devi!!!!!
Khushi woke up with a start, she looked at her surroundingā¦wasn't I with Arnavji then how comeā¦
Buaji: Sanka deviā¦.neend mein rooh kyun rahi thiā¦.koi bura sapna dekha tha kaa?
Khushi: No..buajiā¦kuch nahiā¦.ap chaliye hum muh dhokar atey hain!
Buaji: Wapas sone mat jana!
Buaji left the room leaving a fairly disappointed khushi behind! Her dream was so perfectā¦but buaji had to just come in at that time and disturb their kiss! She looked at the calendar and realized that today was their 4th anniversary. I was thinking too much of this day, yesterday, that's why the dream..She thought with a pout.
But what a dream it was; a dream to remember indeed!
Little did she knew that the day ahead was long enough for Arnav to materialize her dream. Perhaps what she had to experience was even better than the dreamā¦.
