Asad & Zoe.
When you see Zoe's tear-stricken face and Asad's steaming lid blowing off , you really feel like spanking the writers for not letting Asad know that Zoe never endangered his and his family's lives. As it is, Asad is trying to distance himself from Zoe by being the most unique jerk possible and such situations that only make him embrace his cowardly belief that Zoe is a mixed fruit jam and he is doing the right thing by fighting what he feels for her.
It was not Zoe's mistake that the cylinder's knob was upturned and methyl mercaptan was scenting the house. But who knows that truth? NOBODY except our Chhammak Chhalo Billo. Asad, in a way, surprised me today. I thought he will start raging and ranting there and then, but no. He didn't. Old Asad would have put Zoe in that very stove for endangering his Mom dearest. But this Asad just simmered - Cylinder aapne change kiyaa tha na? And then, he just gulped down his anger . Even when Zoe came in front of him, he tried to control the rage he had felt , simmer, simmer, simmer and then... BOOOM! Its his unconscious conditioning ever since the infamous slap incident - Asad tries to control his temper flames as far as Zoe is concerned. Today , it was a big thing in a way. Dilshad could have died if the methyl signal had not been caught in time. So, i still think that what you got was modified Asad who waited till dinner to to boil over.
As for Zoe, it didn't matter to her that Salwaar Kameez was limping ( seriously, after the initial reaction to it, it didn't) - what mattered to her was Asad sitting next to that yards of pretty clothes.Dilshad had almost caught fire but what shook Zoe was the disappointment and winter in Asad's voice. At dinner, Zoe had nothing to say to anyone even as Salwaar Kameez treated her like a baby with a bib. She only had eyes for Asad and what he thought of her. Zoe cannot live with Asad's anger and winter. Even if she turns a warrior princess tomorrow and shields her vulnerability, Asad would still hold the power to hurt her. Why? Because she loves him deep down and there is nothing she can do to change it.
Asad is a double-edged magic lamp for Zoe. He is her strength in times of misery and he is her greatest weakness as well. The same girl who is invincible in the face of all danger and adversity is vulnerable and fragile when it comes to Asad. Everyone has a chink in their armours. But in Zoe's case, Asad is both the chink and the armour.
And for those who want to whack and slap Asad today, well, his Mom could have just caught fire. And he didn't read in the morning newspaper that a certain Billo Rani will hide behind Zoe and try to set his house on fire. Just saying.
P.S- Special mention to Humzie and Shireen. Ayaan has no idea how lucky he is to have someone who loves him so selflessly that she can forego her father for him. If he still cannot read Humeira's love, i think his and Asad's heads should be banged together. Shireen took my heart today . To love a man who will never love you back - all this must come from a flawed heart but a virginal soul. Lucky Rashid.
