Ok I seriously dont usually cry while watching TV shows. I cry while watching emotional scenes in movies but never during one in a serial.
But today's Mohan-Nanhi scene literally had me choking with tears.š Mostly coz Kunal's expressions have this amazing knack of tugging at your heart. Kunal has always been one of my favorite actors on Indian TV,but today my level of respect for him has increased ten-fold I think.š
My mum,who hardly watches the show and makes do with random scenes once in a while,also had tears in her eyes today.š³
From the very beginning,in the conference room scene,where Mohan carefully watched Navika's face,her behaviour,her getting all shifty and uncomfortable,Kunal had me gripped. How can a person give such bang on expressions?! š³
I loved how Mohan chose all the right words that would instigate Navika and make her admit she is Nanhi. And he was successful to some extent. Did anyone notice that mixed feeling of recognition, relief, love, pain, happiness on Mohan's face when Navika walked out after looking at all the pictures? Absolute Brilliance.š
Then came the most heart-wrenching scene of this whole season.
The amount of love on Mohan's face was so palpable when he called out "eh chavanni" that I literally had goosebumps. Every little thing,from falling onto his knees,imagining the young Nanhi infront of him,the way he propelled her forward to come hug him,the Mohan-Nanhi signature move,the sudden change in Mohan's expression from happiness to pain and guilt when the little Nanhi walked back and the grown up Navika stood tall and accusing in front of him...god! I can go on all night. Kunal just nailed it!š
What really made me flinch in pain along with Mohan was when Navika gives him that last stinging insult and Mohan breaks down totally,sobs like a kid,still kneeling on the floor...not knowing what to say or do to make his Nanhi trust him again. š Mohan's desperation,his hurt, his longing for Nanhi to get back into his arms...every little scene,every little emotion,every feeling was so starkly visible in Kunal's eyes and his face. SUCH a wonderful actor he is.š
My eyes are still moist. I dont think I've ever witnessed a more emotional scene than this one in any other show off late.š
Hats off to the writers and the director for executing this scene so well. šš¼ A big round of applause to Jayashree too for showcasing Nanhi's pain so beautifully.š
But for Kunal...I give him a standing ovation coz he outshone EVERYONE tonight. š
NBT sure has a gem of an actor in Kunal. And the creatives are utilizing him damn well.šš¼
Great stuff Kunal. š
