I missed his Saturday concert but went to his concert on Sunday. He could attract huge audience inspite of having done a concert at the same place a day earlier. I guess there were 3000 folks easily with large number of people standing.
He asked how many attended his concert yesterday and I think only about 5 to 10% said they attended. So mostly sang the songs that he sung on Saturday. It was in 3 parts -- first, he sang his own melodious songs. Then he sang Kishoreda's serious songs and finally Kishoreda's and his own fast paced songs for audience to dance on them.
The part I enjoyed most was Kishoreda's serious songs. He told us that the organizers wanted him to sing only fast songs but he challenged them saying that the audience will surely enjoy Kishoreda's serious numbers and they really did. He got tremendous reponse for those songs. He told us that many of these songs are not attempted in the concerts because they are difficult to sing. He told us that it is his Diwali gift to all of us. He sungs many of those songs---
1. Musafir hun yaaron
2. O maji re
3. Ye jo mohabbat hai
4. Kuchh to log kahenge
5. Phulonke rang se
6. Hume tumase pyar kitana
7. Chingari koi
8. Pya diwana hota hai
I have to say this -- when it comes to Kishoreda's serious songs, no one sings them better than Abhijeet. I have heard them from Sonu, Kumar Sanu, Babul Supriyo and many others but none can beat Abhijeet. He sings them with so much passion and puts everything in it. It was a real treat....a real Diwali gift to us.
Little Champs topics came up many times during the show. After every few songs he would ask what grade the audience will give him for this song and audience would shout Yehhhh, AAAAAA+++++++++. He made fun of most of the folks in light hearted manner. He mimicked Bappida, Alka well. Then Gurpreet's mom, Diwakar's dad... He cracked many jokes... some of them were not in good taste but most were OK and the audience had great laugh on them.
Overall, I enjoyed the show. His own songs were very good, Kishoreda's serious songs were the best. He even sang Mukesh's Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein... At the end he drove the audience wild with fast paced songs. Everyone was standing with large number of them at the front shaking their hips....
