It was 26 Jan and I was heading to work, a local Latin popular FM RJ was doing his hour special of Indian music on request, as the requested numbers were playing, a request came in for Teri Meri. I was a little surprised but when it played, I had Arnav and Khushi floating in my mind, the smouldering eyes, the petite fair damsel in green, the lights, and the magic of Arnav & Khushi. Later in the night when I returned home I logged on to my favorite Youtube to relive these two...the moment these two get lost in each other I get lost in them.. Arnav's soul piercing gaze to his electrifying touch, the way his hand moves across her waist, leaving me with goose bumps, that's the magic of love, passion...
Once, Khushi said acknowledging her love for Arnav that " kuch rishtey ajeeb hi dor mein hote hain hai.." My journey was also a lil ajeeb with IPk, one day, I logged onto YT to watch a clip of Arnav Singh Raizada English one-liners. Initially I was repealed to the way he was treating Khushi, the feminine in me wanted to abhor it but something in ASR held me captive. Soon I began looking for the details of the series and caught up with it... I loved the initial difference in their love story, I have always believed in love stories let me confess I'm a die hard M&B fan, and have grown with faith in Love conquers all, my fave adage.
"Love stories often lay a rosy pic" but they are far from reality, the reality is bitter like karela juice and most people claiming to be in love strive together because they want to live to that 'rosy pic'
Here were two people who were from different worlds'everything from styling to thoughts never matched between these two; they were never to go together, as one represented black and the other white. One was a fair damsel of sacrifice and love for family, however the other was a dark knight based on power and pursuit. Their fate kept throwing them towards one another and something touched their souls each time they were in close vicinity'
But they had their share of hardships more than external it was internal for them, one that they would have to overcome in order to reach each other...
My fave scene of IPK is when Arnav in his complete dark avatar tells Khuhsi that "Aaj ye tumhare liye office tha, kal se narak hoga , Welcome to hell Ms. Khushi Kumari Guota," strong passion, and stronger hate between them. The audacity of the man and woman here, one doesn't feel remorse for throwing a girl from his office, in opposition to a strong woman, Khushi, still gets up and challenges him.
The scene where ASR shouts at KKG for touching his things and breaking his laptop, and slowly KKG tells "aap shut up'" left another set of goose bumps. The knight had unbelievable depths of darkness, he wasn't ashamed of it, rather was proud that he had no heart, he was basking in the power of his darkness...
But slowly their contact with each other was changing them, healing them. That is the power of love. Arnav's first attempt to apologize is my favorite till date; you might also remember it, under the gazebo and lights, the first time he regrets.
Arnav's first brush with his depth of love was when he thinks Khushi met an accident with NK during Akash's marriage. And Khushi's first impact about her love for Arnav had come when he disappears for some hours during mehendi. I would say Arnav understood his emotions first and also gave into the enviable, while the external factor of Shyam and Anjali proved to be the final catalyst to join ASR to KKG. Each time hurdles like Shyam came in the way, but were cleared with trust faith and finesse'eventually leaving their relation stronger' my heart still thunders in memory of the scene in which Arnav during his kidnapping calls home for the first time and Khushi talks to him with unabashed tears running from her eyes.
Has there been a more beautiful confession from any couple on telly more than Arnav & Khushi's confession...the moment Arnav uttered the words, " hamari dhadkaine ek ho jaati hai" my heartbeat stopped, leads have always promised the stars and moon to their beloveds, but no one has made it one life joined by my heartbeats...I cherish this as my best moment from IPK.
Another wonderful memory worthy of sharing is Khushi's relentless pursuit to search for her Arnav and Arnav's cliff scene highlighting the hurdles in their union. The biggest coming in the form of a past involving Garimqji, Sr. Malik and Mrs. Malik'yet they crossed all n finally they were together forever...my faith gets once again reaffirmed in "love conquers all."
Do share your fave scenes, which you think make u believe in love..
